"Okay, Shang Ge, I'm going now."
Li Shang had no idea about Qiao Ziqian's identity, and in fact, no one on the entire crew, except for Tang Wanxing, knew his true identity.
Therefore, Li Shang's attitude towards Qiao Ziqian was extremely arrogant and overbearing.
Although Qiao Ziqian felt he could no longer tolerate it, he thought it was a good thing for Meng Jingwei to see Li Shang scolding him.
At least, Meng Jingwei would have more sympathy for him and thus bring them closer.
Qiao Ziqian immediately went to buy things for Li Shang. Watching his retreating back, Meng Jingwei inexplicably felt the hardship of a worker at the bottom of society.
He was treated so miserably for just chatting with her for a couple of sentences.
As she was pondering, Li Shang walked up to her, crossed his arms, and looked her up and down with an unfriendly gaze, "You are Meng Jingwei?"
Perhaps because of Li Shang's previous actions, Meng Jingwei was displeased. She said faintly, "Is there something?"
"Don't think that by getting close to my assistant, you can become my friend. I've seen many women like you," Li Shang said, then raised his hand to tuck a strand of hair behind his ear. A hint of disdain was present on his chiseled face, truly embodying the image of a spoiled rich heir disguised as the male lead in the drama.
However, Meng Jingwei's face remained expressionless.
She looked at him, and after a two-second exchange of glances, a curve formed on her red lips. She let out a soft scoff and turned away.
She had met self-important people before, but never someone so eager to pat themselves on the back. It was truly sickening.
Li Shang had always been adored. As the male lead of the drama, being treated with such disdain by her made Li Shang feel that Meng Jingwei was excessively arrogant and annoying.
Ring, ring, ring—
At this moment, Meng Jingwei's phone rang.
She took out her phone and saw it was Qing Muyan's private number. Glancing around, she walked to a corner of the hallway and answered the call, "A Ye?"
"How does it feel to be on set?"
On the other end of the line, Qing Muyan, concerned about Meng Jingwei, was asking after her.
Meng Jingwei leaned against a red lacquered cylindrical pillar and let out a long sigh, "It's alright, nothing special. But do you know who the female lead in our drama is?"
"Who?"
"Tang Wanxing!" Meng Jingwei was a little excited, but after saying it, she immediately lowered her voice, "I found it quite unbelievable seeing her on set today."
"Wanxing is on set?" Qing Muyan leaned back in his executive chair and pondered for a moment, "I heard she was a former film empress. She's a good actress."
"You don't know?" Meng Jingwei asked back.
Qing Muyan replied, "My interactions with her are purely on a business level; I rarely inquire about her personal life."
After speaking, he paused and asked perceptively, "What, do you think I intentionally kept it from you?"
"No, I didn't think about it," Meng Jingwei whispered, admonishingly, "Then you must keep our relationship a secret from her, otherwise everything we've done before will be in vain."
Meng Jingwei believed that Qing Muyan had borne significant pressure when he publicly announced their divorce, and his intentions were for her own good. She wanted to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry so that Qing Muyan's efforts would be repaid accordingly.
"Everything will be as Madam's orders," Qing Muyan pursed his lips and smiled.
This smile dispelled the coldness on his face, and his entire demeanor softened.
He leaned back in his executive chair, tilting his head to look at the ceiling, "I miss you."
"We've only been apart for half a day. You can't fool me like this."
Despite her words, the satisfied smile blooming on Meng Jingwei's face betrayed her true feelings.
They had known each other for just over two years, and the time since their marriage was even shorter. Thus, they still behaved like a couple in the throes of passion.
