"I see," Meng Jingwei nodded. "Alright, you may go about your business."
She entered the living room and said to Qing Muye, "The servant just mentioned that Tang Si took Shi Ran out. They're probably out for a drive."
"Dinner will be soon. Should we give them a call?" Qing Muye suggested.
Meng Jingwei shook her head and playfully chided, "Are you silly? Tang Si went to great lengths to take Shi Ran away. He probably wants to take her out to clear her head. Shi Ran has been quite down lately. It's good for her to get out and about. Let's not call and check on them."
Her words served as an awakening for him.
Qing Muye walked up to her, raised his hand, and tapped her nose. "You, how can you be so smart." With that, he took her hand and led her to the dining room. "I've asked the kitchen to prepare your favorite dishes today. You need to replenish your strength."
"Mhm, okay."
The two walked hand in hand to the dining room.
It was their first meal alone since returning to the country, and it felt rather desolate, more so an unfamiliar experience.
After dinner, Meng Jingwei returned to her room to video call Li Feifei, while Qing Muye sat in his study, lost in thought.
He had Song Ci investigate Qing Kangyu, and the information received was that Qing Kangyu was thriving in Dijing, and had a son and a daughter.
However, Qing Kangyu seemed to dote on his son, keeping all information about him strictly confidential, making it impossible to find anything out.
Qing Muye didn't dwell on it much, but he was surprised that Qing Kangyu, with whom he hadn't had contact for years, was doing so well.
