A little scoundrel

Chapter 484 The Guardian of the Passage World

The fall of the Orbis Empire? A stir rose through the great hall at the mention of it.

They were naturally aware of such a monumental event.

"Are you referring to Bai Ye, the otherworldly being who single-handedly annihilated the Orbis Empire and slew the four ancient kings of Feistanze?" King Xila asked, his voice tinged with inquiry.

Elder Li nodded without hesitation.

"But can he truly be a match for the elves? In the War of Annihilation, our ancestors witnessed the terrifying might of the elves. Even our guardian, who was as invincible as this Bai Ye fellow back then, ultimately fell in that battle..." an elder on the other side of the king said with apprehension.

His words instantly extinguished the hope that had just been ignited in the other rulers. The Tytus world appeared to be a tripod of three races, with demons, elves, and half-demons dividing the world. However, having endured two great wars, their kind deeply understood the terror of the elves. Their guardian had died at the hands of the elves. In truth, the elves were far more terrifying than either the demons or the half-demons.

"Indeed! He has thoroughly offended Feistanze now, and that place is no simple matter. Coupled with the elves, can he withstand it all alone?"

Elder Li stated, "He managed to reach the Tytus world, so he should be somewhat stronger than our guardian. Perhaps there is hope."

"But why would he help us?" someone's question silenced the entire hall. Bai Ye desired the entire Yulis Empire. They knew that the conditions offered by a single kingdom were far too meager a bargaining chip.

"He will help..." Just as the hall fell silent, an unfamiliar voice echoed, causing everyone in Xila Kingdom to startle and immediately rise to their feet, their magic surging.

"Who?"

A figure in a grey robe silently appeared at the entrance of the hall. The powerful guards outside had not detected his presence.

The mysterious man took but one step and found himself in the center of the hall, before everyone.

"This fellow is incredibly strong!" Elder Li warned, immediately shielding the king. His words made all the other rulers tense. They too sensed that while this individual radiated no trace of magical fluctuation, they were still unable to track the trajectory of his instantaneous movement. Such a person clearly could not be ordinary.

"There is no need to be nervous. I am your friend, not your enemy..." the mysterious man spoke again.

"If you don't even dare reveal your true face, how are we to know if you are friend or foe?" The mysterious person's words clearly did not dispel the suspicions of Xila's assembly.

The mysterious man declared, "Sido, the leader of the Tomorrow Cult."

The Tomorrow Cult? A flicker of bewilderment crossed Elder Li and the others' faces, as they clearly had no knowledge of such a power. It was King Xila, more knowledgeable, who explained to them:

"That is a sect of the dwarven race from the Devor World, located in the Tempest Empire."

The Devor World was the passage linking the Blue Star and the Tytus World, known on the Blue Star as the passageway world, and was now entirely controlled by the Blue Star.

"So, it's the dwarves?" The dwarves, much like the human survivors from their own other world, were in a similar predicament. This somewhat relaxed the vigilance of Elder Li and King Xila's group. At the same time, they were secretly astonished – when had the dwarves produced such a formidable expert?

"How can you be so certain he will help us?" Elder Li inquired.

"Because, we are of the same kind..." The Tomorrow Cult leader's words left many present utterly bewildered.

However, Elder Li's eyes flashed with brilliance, his body trembling slightly. "You... could you possibly be the guardian of the Devor World?"

The leader of the Tomorrow Cult smiled enigmatically. Though he offered no explicit confirmation, the answer was already apparent. Those present were instantly stunned. No one had anticipated that the Devor World had fallen, and yet its guardian was still alive!

"In half a month, the Rex Empire will host an unprecedentedly grand assembly. If you wish to give your race a chance at rebirth, then hurry there." Having spoken, the leader of the Tomorrow Cult vanished from the great hall.
