Three hundred miles east of the great city of Illyes, a million dwarves, after traveling for a day and a night, had finally covered two hundred miles.
For ordinary people, this was quite fast. But for Bai Ye, it was merely the blink of an eye.
Thus, Bai Ye’s gaze swept towards the passing demons…
"Halt!"
Bai Ye appeared before over a hundred demons, blocking their path.
"Where did this savage come from, blocking our way!"
"Get lost! I don't have time to play with you!" The demons whose path was blocked were furious. They had been hiding fearfully for a day and only dared to come out and flee when it seemed quiet. They hadn't expected to encounter trouble.
A playful smile played on Bai Ye's lips. With a thought, two strands of electricity, as thick as fingers, transformed into ropes and bound the two demons.
So strong! The complexions of the two demons changed. They possessed a strength of at least a hundred tons, yet such immense power was contained within these slender 'ropes,' even making their bodies numb and powerless from the electric shock.
"M-Mister, I was wrong!"
"Let me go, I'll scram, I'll scram!" The two demons were sensible and, unable to fight, they backed down.
"Run!" The demons behind them, seeing this, turned and fled.
However, bolts of lightning descended from the sky, like pillars, trapping them all within. Within this cage, thin strands of electricity formed a net, crackling and buzzing.
The powerful aura made not a single demon dare to risk testing its might.
As the two demons continued to beg for mercy, Bai Ye slapped them twice, silencing them.
"Reveal your true forms!"
Bai Ye's words stunned the two demons. Though they didn't understand his intention, they obediently transformed.
One was a six-winged demonic insect, the other a snake-like creature covered in legs.
Bai Ye nodded slightly and looked towards the rear. "You, transform into your true forms as well."
Upon seeing his gaze, the numerous demons felt their scalps tingle and could only comply.
Thus, a group of bizarre and varied demonic creatures appeared on the ground.
"You, go over there and help me transport some people to the Narath region, to Bright City."
??? The demons' eyes were filled with confusion. Then, they became ecstatic. Just this? They should have said so earlier, why all this fuss?
"As you command! Lord."
"Lord, you should have said so earlier!" And so, under Bai Ye's polite guidance, a group of demons happily began escorting a batch of dwarves towards Bright City.
Delivering them would ensure their safety, making the demons incredibly motivated; traveling ten thousand miles a day was not an exaggeration.
"I still need to find more demons to help." Bai Ye politely went and found several more batches of demons.
Almost every time, tens of thousands, or even a hundred thousand, dwarves were transported away.
As a result, the number of dwarves in the main group dwindled, and soon, only about a hundred thousand remained.
Just as Bai Ye stopped another group of demons, a figure rapidly broke through the air from a distance. The aura was not overwhelmingly vast, but the faintly revealed power gave one the feeling of only touching the tip of an iceberg.
Bai Ye abandoned this group of demons and leaped onto a towering tree, gazing at the powerful figure rapidly flashing in the distance, leaving behind afterimages.
Its appearance was indistinguishable, its entire body enveloped in a large grey robe.
"Lord Wu Xin, it's Lord Wu Xin!"
The demons who had fled a short distance paused and immediately recognized the approaching figure.
"Haha! This guy is in big trouble. He actually wanted us to be mounts for the dwarves just now. What a dream!"
"I wonder who this fellow is, daring to set his sights on the dwarves. Isn't he digging into the foundations of the half-demons?"
"This has crossed the half-demons' red line. It seems a great battle is unavoidable?"
Some bolder demons stopped after fleeing a short distance, content to be onlookers.
*Bang!*
Wu Xin stopped about a hundred meters away. The abrupt halt caused a ripple in the air, generating a strong gust of wind.
He scanned Bai Ye up and down, finding him unfamiliar, yet with a sense of familiarity.
"Who are you, sir? Why have you abducted the dwarven slaves protected by my half-demon clan?" Wu Xin questioned sternly, his killing intent permeating the air.
Bai Ye also sized him up and calmly replied, "Lord of Bright City, Ye Ge!!"
From Wu Xin's obsidian-dark face within his robe, a cold glint clearly appeared. The surrounding air was filled with a chilling killing intent.
"We were heading to Bright City, yet you were nowhere to be found. Now appearing here, it seems you came with a purpose." Wu Xin said coldly, drawing the long sword from his back.
It was a black longsword, longer than his three-meter-tall, well-built frame. The runes on the sword were also entirely black, exuding a strange aura.
"I am very curious, how did you know Illyes Great City would be in turmoil?"
"Could it be that you, like them, are an outsider from another world? Or perhaps, you have defected to them?"
