Chapter 1 The Opening Shot
The first gunshot was fired by Bai Ye. The specially made demon-breaking bullet shot out, hitting a mysterious guard in front of Bai Ye in the abdomen, blasting a large hole and scattering blood everywhere.
The hit guard screamed. Despite such a severe injury, he could still yell, not losing consciousness in an instant.
As he fell to the ground, his hat came off, and a piece of his black trench coat was shattered by the bullet, revealing a ferocious face.
Eyes scarlet like a beast's, rough skin like withered wood, and bat-like fangs protruding from his mouth…

This guy was too monstrous! Harris and the others glared, their hearts churning with astonishment.
This batch of Korean demon-breaking bullets had undergone some improvements based on the technology provided by the Western Alliance, and their power had barely reached a level that could harm B-class monsters. But facing Bai Ye, the bullets simply stopped the moment they left the barrel.

Bai Ye sneered and asked, “When I approached Korea’s coast earlier, who ordered the Korean army to open fire?”
He still remembered that incident! The faces of the chairmen of the three major chaebols froze. This guy held grudges, and trouble was brewing!
So, the few of them quickly explained, “That has nothing to do with us. Those were orders from the National Assembly members!”
“That’s right! We are just businessmen, how can we have the authority to order the Korean army?”
“Mr. Bai, you’ve misunderstood!”
Seeing the three of them desperately shifting blame and quibbling, Harris and the others, whose emotions were still unstable, showed expressions of disdain.
Bai Ye smiled and remained silent. With a backhand motion, he grabbed, and the demon-breaking gun held by another mysterious guard was snatched away by Bai Ye.
All the guards instinctively took a fearful step back, bewildered and not daring to shoot again.
The mysterious guard who had been shot earlier, after several attempts to get up, finally collapsed weakly on the ground, on the verge of death. Fresh blood lay pooled on the ground, but no one dared to offer aid!
Crack
Bai Ye removed the bullets from the two guns in his hands and threw them on the floor.
After several firing tests, he saw that the focus of these new weapons was in these bullets. The guns themselves were similar to modern firearms, with nothing significant to observe.
Seeing Bai Ye’s actions, Harris and the others felt a pang of anxiety. Bai Ye was one step closer to the core secrets of the Western Alliance. They had the intention to stop him, but they feared losing their heads the next second…
So, they could only watch, exchanging awkward and anxious glances.
Using his keen observation skills, combined with his powerful spatial perception, Bai Ye continued to study these demon-breaking bullets under the fearful and silent gaze of those around him.
In his left and right hands were the Korean and Western demon-breaking bullets, respectively. The Korean demon-breaking bullets were slightly larger than the Western ones, but their ‘demon-breaking’ effect was not as good as the Western ones.
This differed from modern firearms; generally, the larger the bullet, the greater its power!
This indicated that the difference lay in the manufacturing process, or the materials…
Bai Ye suddenly applied force with both hands, crushing two bullets instantly. The gunpowder inside dispersed and fell to the ground…
“Normal gunpowder?” Bai Ye muttered. Then, terrifying flames erupted from his hands, instantly melting the remaining shell casings.

Seeing Bai Ye’s actions, Harris and the others’ heartbeats quickened, and they became restless.
After a short while, Bai Ye’s gaze sharpened, and he withdrew the flames from his hands. Two translucent white crystals, smaller than rice grains, appeared on his palms.
Raising them for inspection, Bai Ye’s lips curled slightly into a mysterious smile.
“So that’s how it is!”
