Chapter 2 The National Treasury Was Raided by the Dog Emperor

It was unexpected that the space could be upgraded; she had never heard of such a thing before.

Huangfu Yue was overjoyed and immediately reached out to open the first door, then walked in. She discovered it was a large supermarket.

She browsed casually and found that not only were there all sorts of food in the supermarket, but also many items of clothing, daily necessities, and household appliances.

Huangfu Yue’s eyes curved into smiles. With this supermarket, her future life would no longer be a worry, as there was everything she needed for food, clothing, and daily use, plus household appliances.

She wondered what was behind the other two doors.

Huangfu Yue decided to go and see immediately. She left the supermarket, walked out of the first door, opened the second door, and stepped inside.

“It’s a garage!” Huangfu Yue revealed another expression of surprise. She found herself in a garage.

There were many cars in the garage, of all types: sedans, trucks, buses, minibuses, and even agricultural vehicles, dump trucks, excavators, and cranes.

Beside the crane, there were also some electric vehicles and bicycles.

“Uh… why so many cars!” These vehicles would probably be useless in ancient times.

Huangfu Yue did not realize she was mistaken; these vehicles would prove very useful in the future and helped her a lot.

Huangfu Yue did not linger in the garage. She was eager to see what was behind the third door.

Huangfu Yue exited the garage and went to open the third door, only to find it wouldn't open. No matter how hard she tried, it remained shut.

“What’s going on?”

Huangfu Yue was perplexed. Just as she was wondering, the space’s voice sounded in the air again…

“The third door is an Anywhere Door. You can use it to go anywhere you wish, but the distance cannot exceed a hundred li, and it can only be used once a month… If the host wants to open the door, please first think of the place you want to go.”

After hearing this, Huangfu Yue was filled with surprise and delight.

It was an Anywhere Door! She could go anywhere she wanted. Wonderful!

Where should she go?

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck her, and Huangfu Yue revealed a wicked, mischievous smile.

The dog emperor wanted to raid the Prince Dai’s mansion, so why shouldn't she strike back and raid the imperial palace’s national treasury?

According to the memories of the original owner, Prince Dai’s mansion was not far from the imperial palace, only about four or five li away, which was accessible through the Anywhere Door.

“I want to go to the imperial palace’s national treasury,” Huangfu Yue said.

As soon as she spoke, the door that had refused to open automatically swung open.

Huangfu Yue blinked in surprise for a moment, then her lips curled. She immediately walked through the door.

“My heavens!” Huangfu Yue gasped, stunned. “This must be the national treasury!”

Gleaming with golden light!

Everywhere she looked, everything was radiant, with towering mountains of gold.

Goodness, how much gold was there?

Huangfu Yue tried to count, but found it was impossible.

The national treasury was several times larger than the inner vault of the Prince’s mansion. Huangfu Yue began to explore, wanting to get a good look at the treasury and see how much gold, silver, and jewels it contained, only to be almost scared senseless.

Compared to the national treasury, the Prince’s mansion’s storerooms were pathetically small.

The national treasury was unbelievably vast. She walked for more than ten minutes and still hadn’t finished exploring it, seeing only mountains of gold. It was only much further in that she saw silver.

The silver was also piled high, with countless mountains of it.

Huangfu Yue continued deeper, walking for another ten minutes or so, where she encountered large quantities of jewelry and antique calligraphy and paintings.

There were jade chimes, jade horses, jade Ruyi scepters, white jade Guanyin statues, jade Arhats, and countless large pearls, small pearls, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and other treasures.

She also saw ancient bronze cauldrons, ancient swords, and a pile of ancient artifacts, as well as piles of calligraphy and paintings that were clearly treasures. There were also many golden bowls and plates, silver bowls and plates, gold-inlaid chopsticks, golden spittoons, golden washbasins, silver washbasins, golden foot basins, and silver foot basins.

She was dazzled by it all, wanting to let out a shout.

My goodness, this was too extravagant! Utterly extravagant! Was this the emperor’s national treasury… No, all of it belonged to her now.

Huangfu Yue curved her lips and instructed the space to immediately move all the contents of the national treasury, not worrying at all about there being too much for the space to hold.

Her space was infinitely large; it could hold anything.

After emptying the national treasury, Huangfu Yue was again shocked.

So this was how large the national treasury was!

After clearing out the national treasury, she could clearly see its immense size. She discovered that the national treasury was as large as dozens of football fields.

Huangfu Yue sighed inwardly, no wonder it could hold so many mountains of gold and silver, as well as jewels, jade, and antique calligraphy and paintings.

Huangfu Yue had intended to take advantage of this rare opportunity to visit the imperial palace and see what it was like, whether it was the same as in the television dramas, when suddenly she heard the space speak…

“Host, the Anywhere Door is about to close. Please return to the space immediately.”

Huangfu Yue frowned. She had to leave already! So, the Anywhere Door had a time limit.

A hint of regret appeared in Huangfu Yue’s eyes. She would have to visit the imperial palace another time… No, there would likely be no chance.

The space had said that although the Anywhere Door could take her anywhere she wished, the distance could not exceed one hundred li, and it could only be used once a month. By next month, she would have already been exiled and surely moved far away from the capital, well over a hundred li from the imperial palace.

Huangfu Yue shook her head and sighed softly. She walked into the Anywhere Door that had been following her, returning to the space. As soon as she entered the space, she saw countless mountains of gold and silver and large quantities of treasures, all moved from the national treasury.

Huangfu Yue’s face was full of smiles. She was now probably the richest person in the world. She never imagined that one day she would become the wealthiest person in the land.

The more Huangfu Yue thought about it, the happier she became. However, she did not become complacent and forget that the Prince Dai’s mansion was to be raided at dawn, and she would be exiled.

She kept in mind her current predicament and knew she had to race against time to move everything edible and usable from the Prince Dai’s mansion into the space.

Although the space now contained tens of thousands of kilograms of grain and vast amounts of gold and silver, as well as a large supermarket, enough for her to eat and spend for dozens of lifetimes, she still had to take everything edible and usable from the Prince Dai’s mansion. She could not let the dog emperor’s men who came to raid the mansion take it and benefit the dog emperor.

With this thought, Huangfu Yue left the space and rushed back to her courtyard as quickly as possible.

Huangfu Yue gently pushed open the door and entered the courtyard silently. Besides her, three servants lived in the courtyard: Madam Zou, and two maids named Ping’er and Yun’er.

All three of them were sleeping soundly, so they were unaware that the original owner had left the courtyard crying because she couldn’t sleep.

Huangfu Yue shook her head. These three servants were useless.

Huangfu Yue quickly returned to her room in the wing. The room was very spacious and luxuriously furnished, decorated in an elegant and cozy manner.

Huangfu Yue looked around, sensing the great care taken in decorating the room. Consort Zheng, who had decorated the room, truly doted on the original owner.

Huangfu Yue began to pack the items she wanted to take. As a noble princess, she had no need for money, as she didn’t have to spend it.

If she wanted anything, she just had to tell Consort Zheng, or her sisters-in-law, or instruct the servants, so she had no money, not even a single piece of fragmented silver.

But she had many beautiful and valuable jewelry, as well as luxurious clothing.

Huangfu Yue quickly and skillfully found all her jewelry and clothing, filling two large chests. As soon as she put them into the space, she was thinking about where to collect items next when she heard knocking at the door from outside.

Huangfu Yue looked puzzled. Who could be knocking?

Everyone was asleep in their own rooms in the middle of the night.

Huangfu Yue opened her room door and walked out, quickly arriving at the courtyard gate. Upon opening the door, she found it was a maid from her grandmother, Consort Zheng.

The maid was somewhat surprised to see Huangfu Yue opening the door, but she didn’t ask why it was her who answered the door, nor where her servants were.

“Princess, the Consort requests that you go to her room immediately,” the maid said respectfully after a bow, stating her purpose.

Huangfu Yue was also surprised to hear the maid’s words.

Why would her grandmother be awake and ask her to her room in the middle of the night?
