【Tomorrow: Much obliged, Your Grace.】
"As expected of a world-class organization. They just gave away such resources without hesitation。"Tang Fang spoke.
"With the strength of the Apocalypse Sect, perhaps they could establish a City Alliance overnight。"Ning Wen murmured.
Everyone was equally filled with awe and emotion.
For an ordinary Mobile City, gathering such resources would have taken years of exhausting labor. Yet the Apocalypse Sect handed them over effortlessly.
Even Lin Wu, who was usually calm and rational, became extremely agitated.
"If we truly obtain these resources, then Tomorrow would have a stepping stone to rise to Tier 3 city status!"He adjusted his glasses, voice trembling slightly."If Engineer is promoted to Tier 2, it would be a great boost for the Tomorrow Alliance!"
Li Ye was also overwhelmed with excitement.
According to his original plan, he merely intended to lead Iron Whale and Engineer deep into the Eternal Night Zone, gather some Tier 2 resources, probe the situation, and then retreat.
He never imagined things would evolve into what they were now.Tier 2 City Promotion Blueprint, Tier 1 City Crystal, Tier 1 City Structure Blueprint, Tier 1 City Alloy..::
And potentially a Tier 2 City Crystal.
What could be obtained far exceeded Li Ye’s imagination.
There was no need to worry about Bishop Heath going back on his word. After all, the Apocalypse Sect was a world-class organization and naturally valued its integrity.
Moreover, these resources meant nothing to them.
In the midst of his excitement, he quickly realized something and typed out a line.
【Tomorrow: Your Grace.】
【Saint: What is it now? Are you still not done? Do you want more compensation? I won’t agree this time.】
【Tomorrow: No, what you’ve given is more than enough. Thank you for your generosity, and that of the Apocalypse Sect.】
【Tomorrow: What I want to ask is, do you know of someone in the Zombie Civilization called『Madam Mo』?】
【Saint: Of course I know... not just me, nearly everyone on the Northern Front knows this opponent.】
"What?"
Madam Mo was the most outstanding Zombie general on the Northern Front.
Her Mobile City was the Tier 2 Assault-type Zombie City “Sound”.
In recent days, “Sound” had destroyed a total of nine human Mobile Cities.
Whenever “Sound” appeared on the battlefield, the Lords of the Northern Front would be on extreme alert.
But recently, there had been a collective sigh of relief.
Because “Sound” seemed to have vanished from the Northern Front—it appeared to have been redeployed.
Li Ye, however, had a few beads of sweat form on his forehead.
Heath and the others might not know Madam Mo’s whereabouts, but he certainly did!
To deal with Tomorrow, the rat that had snuck deep into enemy territory, the Zombie Emperor had specially summoned back Madam Mo.
"The commander who destroyed no less than nine human Mobile Cities...:.:"his forehead was drenched in sweat."His Majesty the Emperor really went all out!"
Just as the communication was about to end, Li Ye thought for a moment and added a final note.
【Tomorrow: Your Grace, I hope you can keep the matter of the rewards given to Tomorrow confidential. You know the saying: “An innocent man gets into trouble because of his treasures.” If news spreads that Tomorrow possesses these resources, it’ll no doubt bring a lot of trouble.】
【Saint: I am well aware of that. Don’t worry. Other than me and the Cardinal Bishops of the Cardinal Assembly who received the application report, no one else will know.】
【Tomorrow: Alright, thank you very much.】
【Saint: Do your best, young man.】
"We’ve settled the rewards, now how are we going to fight?"Old Zhou asked.
"That Flesh Furnace must be heavily fortified. I doubt Tomorrow can break through。"Ning Wen speculated.
Li Ye immediately turned to Lin Wu.
The latter pondered for a moment, then slowly spoke.
"There might be only one chance."
Under everyone’s gaze, he gave his reasoning.
First, the Zombie Civilization already knew that a human Mobile City had penetrated the Eternal Night Zone from the Southern Front. They were undoubtedly intensifying their search and gradually narrowing the scope—Tomorrow being exposed was almost inevitable.
Second, the Zombie Civilization had yet to locate Tomorrow or understand its intentions—this was Tomorrow’s advantage to strike unexpectedly.
Third, once Tomorrow showed itself, regardless of whether the sneak attack succeeded or failed, what it would face next would be a massive Zombie Swarm.
The Zombies would pursue them relentlessly. Tomorrow would have little to no chance of escaping and hiding again to plan another ambush.
Li Ye nodded. His thoughts were the same as Lin Wu’s.
"What do you think are our odds of success?"he asked.
"Less than twenty percent."Lin Wu replied.
He sighed as he spoke.
"This time, we’re truly on our own. It’s do or die."
Li Ye thought for a moment, then gently shook his head—Not necessarily. Tomorrow might have a chance to gain an ally.
More than two hours later, Tomorrow arrived at its destination.
A ruined city located 63 kilometers to the southeast.
To Li Ye’s surprise, this ruined city was unexpectedly large—comparable to the central area of the Wasteland Zone—at the scale of a million residents.
He had come here to try and find the so-called Monster Resistance Army.
After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
What he didn’t expect was that fierce firefighting was underway on the outskirts of the ruined city—gunfire and explosions sounded continuously.
Several scarlet flares lit up the sky, illuminating the entire area.
"What’s going on?"Li Ye quickly climbed the Watchtower and picked up the binoculars.
Only three Tier 1 Zombie Mobile Cities suddenly appeared on the outskirts of the ruined city. The few scarlet flares in the sky were clearly launched by them.
Their target was a Tier 1 Monster Mobile City.
Kobolds, Boarmen, Serpentfolk, Gnolls, Minotaurs… the monster types aboard that Tier 1 Monster City were dazzlingly diverse and overwhelming to the eye.
At this moment, all these monsters were fighting valiantly.
The three Tier 1 Zombie Cities advanced aggressively, each deploying helicopters and convoys in an attempt to destroy the Monster City, even unleashing a volley of cannon fire.
The Monster City, however, suddenly accelerated—initiating Mobile Evasion!
Amidst the overwhelming barrage of shells, it maneuvered nimbly and dodged its way through, managing to evade entirely.
Just as one Zombie City was about to speed up to pursue, a convoy suddenly appeared from the street ahead.
Upon closer look, it was a convoy sent by the Monster City.
Driving the vehicles were burly Boarmen. With cigarettes in their mouths and sunglasses on, they slammed the gas pedal under a hail of fire from the Zombies, charging forward at high speed!
Thanks to their extraordinary driving skills, the convoy broke through the encirclement of the Zombie convoy and rushed straight to the front of one Zombie City.
The windows rolled down, and the Gnolls all raised their rocket launchers, shouting as they pulled the triggers at the tires and treads of the Zombie City.
With explosions rocking the chassis, that Zombie City lost its mobility.
Atop the Watchtower, Li Ye was dumbfounded.
It was already unbelievable that monsters had their own Mobile City, and now they even knew how to use Mobile Evasion and disable enemy mobility—this was truly insane!
At the same time, he couldn't help but sigh in amazement.
He hadn’t expected monsters to fight desperately for their own survival too.
He then waved his hand.
"Engage! We will give them our full support!"
Everyone on Tomorrow quickly moved into position. Three Black Hawk Helicopters rose one after another from the upper platform. The lift platform lowered slowly. Convoys One and Two, along with the Storm Infantry Vehicle, deployed immediately upon reaching the ground.
On the Armor Deck, the combat personnel were ready in front of the Cannons and Heavy Machine Guns. Some had also set up flamethrowers and shotguns at key locations—these were to guard against Flesh Cannons.
Tomorrow could no longer drive into the city—it could only provide fire support from outside. After all, it had already been promoted to a Tier 2 city and had grown significantly in size, making it impossible to navigate the city streets.
It had to be said, a Tier 2 city had an overwhelming advantage over a Tier 1 city.
As the Black Hawk Helicopters opened fire, the Zombie vehicles on the ground were blown to pieces, exploding into fiery balls.
Alongside, four Lava Cannons fired simultaneously, turning the immobilized Zombie City and its surroundings into a sea of flames.
Then, two Tier 2 Frost Cannons locked onto another Zombie City and opened fire. The target tried to evade using Mobile Evasion, but the blast radius of the Tier 2 Frost Cannons was massive. In an instant, it and its surroundings were frozen into an ice sculpture.
Following a volley from the Regular Cannons, that Zombie City and the nearby buildings and streets collapsed into countless chunks of ice, scattered across the area.
On the streets, the Storm Infantry Vehicle led the charge, blasting the intercepting Zombie convoy ahead into exploding wrecks.
It even fired several Light Missiles, taking down the Zombie helicopters overhead one after another.
Soon, it pushed close to the Zombie City and began a frenzy of fire.
The tires and treads on the left side of the Zombie City were severely damaged and started losing speed.
When the Zombies on the Armor Deck prepared to fire at Tomorrow, the three Black Hawk Helicopters swept over their heads and unleashed such an intense barrage that no one could lift their head.
Heavy Machine Guns, Cannons, Armor Deck, City Armor—even the Zombies themselves were shredded to pieces instantly.
Tomorrow had only been involved for less than ten minutes, and the battle had already turned completely one-sided—it could even be said that it was already over.
The monsters who had been fighting against the Zombies stood stunned at the sight.
They had never imagined that a human Mobile City would come to their aid.
The Boarmen stopped their vehicles, took off their sunglasses, and looked at Tomorrow in astonishment.
The Gnolls put away their rocket launchers and let out startled cries.
A Serpentfolk gunner on the Armor Deck who had been operating a Cannon suspiciously set down the shell he was about to load and fire.
The monsters hesitated for a moment, then lowered their weapons.
They had already faintly sensed that the humans had come with goodwill.
In fact, even if they wanted to keep fighting, it would be pointless. With the combat strength Tomorrow had just demonstrated, it could wipe them out in an instant.
Soon, both sides sent representatives for negotiation.
On Li Ye's side, it was Combat Captain Old Zhou. On the monster side, it was a Kobold.
The Kobold wore a tactical jacket and camouflage pants, carried an assault rifle, and had a red headband tied around his head. His expression was determined, exuding a bold and manly aura.
This image was far more impressive than the Kobolds Li Ye had seen in the Wasteland Zone.
The two sides began their discussion on the street.
But soon, a problem arose.
There was a language barrier.
In general, though monsters in the wastelands were intelligent, very few could speak human language.
Among them, Goblins were among the rare few that could communicate with humans.
After a clumsy exchange of gestures and confusion, neither side could understand the other.
The Kobold slapped his head, as if recalling something, and quickly waved to his comrades.
A few minutes later, they hurried back—with a Goblin.
The Goblin wore a white lab coat and carried a first-aid kit. He seemed to be the medic of the Monster Resistance Army.
Upon seeing Old Zhou and the others, the Goblin's eyes widened in shock.
"Humans? You’re saying they actually helped us?"
Old Zhou and the others let out a sigh of relief.
"Finally, a translator."
According to the Goblin’s self-introduction, his name was Gado, and he was indeed the medic of the Monster Resistance Army.
As for the Kobold, he was named Gore, a captain of the Monster Resistance Army and also the commander of this Mobile City.
"Why are you helping us?"Gado asked in confusion."As far as I know, humans are never up to any good."
"We came to deal with the Zombie Army,"Old Zhou responded."Our Lord wishes to seek cooperation with you."
After hearing the translation by Doctor Gado, Captain Gore the Kobold looked toward Tomorrow, gently shook his head, and spoke a few words to Doctor Gado.
"What did he say?"Old Zhou asked.
"He said if you truly mean what you say, then have your Lord come and speak personally."
Old Zhou thought for a moment, then gave his answer.
"Fine,"he nodded."But your Resistance Army’s leader must also show up. We will talk in a public setting, and all parties will disarm."
"Alright, I will relay the message to our chief,"Doctor Gado nodded.
Half an hour later, the monsters delivered their reply.
The Resistance leader agreed to a meeting and a detailed discussion of cooperation.
Escorted by his companions, Li Ye descended to the ground via the lift platform, while the leader of the Monster Resistance Army also made his appearance.
Upon seeing his form, everyone widened their eyes in astonishment.
He was a Goblin standing over two meters tall.
He had the back of a tiger and the waist of a bear, shoulders broad as a bull’s, his whole body brimming with muscles forged like hammered steel. His jaw was broad, and he wore a short, stiff stubble in gray-black.
In his eyes flickered a light of unmatched determination.
"General Grok—the pillar who firmly united all our tribes together to resist the Zombies,"Doctor Gado introduced proudly with a wave of his hand.
"It is thanks to his wisdom and courage that we have been able to hold on this long."
General Grok, meanwhile, looked at Li Ye and the others, his eyes growing deeper.
"Humans, do you truly believe yourselves trustworthy?"
