Chapter 10 The Park

Leaving Fen Bao Shan, I began to hurry back.

My steps were quick, I wished I had wings to fly straight back.

But wearing my shoes backward made it awkward to run.

Several times I was tripped by stones on the ground, almost falling.

So I had to slow my pace and walk forward briskly.

The surroundings were still chilly, but the strange footsteps behind me had vanished, and the feeling of being watched was gone.

This was the only thing that brought me a sense of peace.

After about an hour, I returned to the city.

It was past midnight, and there were very few people around, but the streets had become bright.

I quickly walked towards People's Park.

At the same time, I took out my phone and sent a message to Brother Chen: "Brother Chen, I've reached Renmin Road, I'll be at the park entrance in five minutes at most."

As soon as the message was sent.

"Ding dong!"

I received a reply directly.

It was a one-second voice message, sent almost instantly.

I opened the voice message as I walked.

But a very deep voice came out:

"Waiting for you!"

Only two words, and it sounded like Brother Chen's voice.

But the voice was very deep, as if his throat had been squeezed and he was speaking with difficulty.

Could Brother Chen have caught a cold because of the weather?

It seemed possible. After all, he had been drinking, gave me his jacket, and stood at the park entrance for several hours.

It was possible he caught a cold from the wind.

I felt touched, Brother Chen was truly a good person.

After this matter was over, I must thank him properly.

Putting away my phone, I continued to quicken my pace.

"Thump thump thump..."

Soon, I arrived at the park entrance.

But when I reached the spot, I couldn't find any sign of Brother Chen.

I looked around, the place was empty.

There was only me on the entire main road.

Did Brother Chen go to the restroom?

I stood at the park entrance and peeked inside.

It was "pitch black" and I couldn't see clearly.

But I did see a figure slowly stand up from a seat in the darkness.

Then, slowly, it turned and walked in my direction.

I squinted, observing carefully.

Judging by the figure, it should be Brother Chen.

"Brother Chen? Is that you, Brother Chen?"

I leaned forward and called out twice tentatively, my voice not loud.

But at the dead silent park entrance, my voice echoed.

However, the figure did not speak.

It just walked slowly in my direction.

Huh? Isn't that Brother Chen?

I stood still, watching the figure.

A strange sense of nervousness arose in my heart.

As the figure approached and finally emerged from the shadows, I confirmed its identity.

A grey vest, the same style grey work pants.

Not only the appearance and attire, but also Brother Chen himself...

After confirming it was indeed Brother Chen, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I started walking towards Brother Chen:

"Brother Chen, why aren't you talking? You scared me.

Brother Chen, what should I do next?"

I spoke, walking forward step by step.

But when we were about five meters apart.

Brother Chen walked out of the shadows and into the streetlight.

Because I had encountered strange things repeatedly, I specifically checked Brother Chen's shadow.

Everything was fine, a long shadow stretched under the streetlight...

However, I still noticed that Brother Chen was acting strangely.

Brother Chen's steps were slow, and he kept his head down.

Moreover, in his left hand, he was carrying a dead chicken upside down.

The dead chicken dangled in Brother Chen's hand, its head almost touching the ground.

From its mouth, drops of blood were constantly dripping...

"Brother Chen, why are you carrying a dead chicken?"

At this moment, Brother Chen stopped.

About four meters away from me, he stood motionless with his head down, still holding the dead chicken.

No matter how I looked at it, something felt wrong, and I started to panic.

"Brother Chen, don't scare me."

As I spoke, my face became stiff, and my emotions grew tense.

But as soon as my voice fell.

Brother Chen suddenly let out two strange cackles.

At the same time, he threw the bleeding dead chicken from his left hand towards me.

"Bang bang," it rolled to a stop in front of me.

Hearing Brother Chen's strange laughter and seeing the dead chicken at my feet.

My mind exploded with a "buzz," my pupils contracted violently, and a chill ran from my head to my toes.

My face instantly changed, showing a look of terror.

My body trembled as I stumbled back several steps.

Because I realized that the dead chicken was the big yellow chicken I had tied on Fen Bao Shan.

Both its feather color and size, as well as the red rope on its leg, confirmed that this was the big yellow chicken that had taken my place.

"Brother Chen, this chicken, how did this chicken get here?"

My eyes widened, filled with fear.

With a look of horror and surprise, I spoke to the Brother Chen in front of me, my vigilance piqued.

And the cackling Brother Chen, at this moment, raised his head.

Upon seeing this, I completely froze.

Because Brother Chen's face was deathly pale.

His eyes had become exactly the same as the eyes of the strange things.

There were no pupils, the entire eye was a dark void.

This formed a stark contrast with his pale face.

Seeing this, my entire body bristled.

"Ah! You, you're not Brother Chen..."

I exclaimed in terror.

My heart pounded, and I hurriedly retreated.

But my feet, at this moment, felt as if they were cast in lead.

Incredibly heavy, making it difficult to move.

My steps faltered, and I almost fell.

And the pale-faced Brother Chen, with a sinister smile, approached me step by step.

He extended a red tongue, greedily licking his lips. httpδ:/m.kuAisugg.nět

His dark eyes were fixed on me.

Not only that, but in his hand, he had somehow raised a sharp piece of broken glass.

The glass cut through his palm, and blood flowed from his wrist, winding its way towards his elbow.

"Drip drip," it fell...

But Brother Chen didn't seem to feel any pain; instead, he looked excited as he advanced towards me.

"You, are mine..."
