Suddenly, a yellow fox appeared.
We were all delighted.
Finally, we saw a fox.
Seeing the fox appear, Lao Mo and I didn't move rashly.
Only Shishu spoke:
"Fox spirit, we are all passing friends.
We wish to meet the old mother of the fox clan, Hu San Tai Nai.
On the altar is the token of trust.
The offerings on the sides are for you to consume!
We hope the fox spirit will lead us the way..."
After speaking, Shishu stepped back two paces, to make the other party feel safe.
The yellow fox made a few "ying ying ying" sounds and observed us for a while.
Seeing that we posed no danger, it cautiously approached.
Judging by its appearance, this was a wild fox that had not yet fully attained sentience.
However, no matter what kind of fox it was, as long as it understood our purpose and could guide us, that would be sufficient.
After the yellow fox drew near and found no danger, it sniffed at the paws of Hu San Tai Nai several times, then respectfully retreated.
Its eyes then fell upon the pheasants, "ji ji ji," struggling and fearful of it.
Unable to resist the temptation of the wild pheasants,
it pounced directly, biting into one of the chickens.
The three fine turkeys were quickly bitten to death.
Then, it tore at the feathers and began to chew the meat noisily.
"Shifu, this, this fox spirit seems, seems not to have opened its mind yet? Can it lead us to Fox Mountain?"
Shishu raised a hand to stop Lao Mo from continuing and spoke directly:
"Let's see first!"
Afterward, the three of us stood there waiting for the yellow fox to finish eating.
It ate for about half an hour, licked its paws, then lay on the ground, turned its head, and called out to the three of us with a few "ying ying ying" sounds, before slowly walking forward.
It seemed this wild fox understood our intentions.
It wanted us to follow.
"Shishu, it's going to lead us."
"Success!"
Lao Mo also said excitedly.
Shishu nodded:
"Quick, pack up our things and follow!"
Without further hesitation, the three of us quickly picked up our sword bags and luggage, and began to follow the wild fox's pace.
Although the wild fox had eaten its fill, its belly like a round ball, it ran without slowing down.
Especially in this wild mountain forest.
Especially when passing through thorny vines, it would vanish in a flash.
However, it would wait for us ahead, ensuring we didn't fall behind.
Now that we had a guide, we had a direction.
From afternoon, we followed the fox until late at night.
If not for our cultivation, keeping pace with these wild mountain beasts would truly offer no advantage.
At this moment, the entire forest was shrouded in darkness.
This yellow fox led us up a hill.
It stood on a blue stone, half-crouching, and again called out to us with "ying ying ying."
Then, it respectfully "worshipped" in another direction.
Seeing its action, we quickly jumped onto the blue stone.
Following that, we looked in the direction the yellow fox was worshipping.
Upon looking, we discovered a towering mountain peak in the distance.
Under the moonlight, the peak appeared particularly prominent.
The yellow fox also lifted its paws and pointed towards the peak with "ying ying ying."
It seemed that this was indeed Fox Mountain.
"So that's Fox Mountain?"
Lao Mo asked doubtfully.
Shishu nodded slightly:
"It should be. Look at the feng shui here. The stars and moon illuminate, the four winds gather.
A treasure land, a rare treasure land.
As the foremost demon clan of Bashan, the fox clan must gather in a place with such beautiful feng shui."
Hearing Shishu's explanation, I also looked carefully.
That mountain peak was indeed a good feng shui location, with water flowing around it and surrounding mountains offering protection.
Stars and moon connected, reflecting the peak.
"Shishu, this feng shui is very good, but does this kind of feng shui have a name?"
Shishu stroked his eight-character mustache:
"If I'm not mistaken, the feng shui here should be called Suo Jian Xiu."
"Suo Jian Xiu?"
Shishu nodded:
"Look at the shape of the mountain peak, it's like a precious sword hidden in its scabbard, containing sharp energy within.
The surrounding water currents are like streams of spiritual energy encircling it.
Coupled with the protective surrounding mountains, all the spiritual energy from the surroundings converges here.
Therefore, it is called Suo Jian.
The addition of 'Xiu' signifies that the spiritual energy here is abundant, containing a dragon脉.
Of course, if the dragon脉 here disappeared, and the mountain peak became bare.
Then the situation here would drastically change, corresponding to a greatly inauspicious place called Suo Jian E."
After this explanation, Lao Mo and I learned two more feng shui patterns, Suo Jian Xiu and Suo Jian E.
But it must be said, these mountain spirits truly know how to find places.
The bottomless pit of the Grey family was the location of the Earth Dragon's脉.
The fox clan's Fox Mountain was also a place of excellent feng shui, a spiritual land of Suo Jian Xiu.
After we finished discussing, the yellow fox beside us called out a few more "ying ying ying" sounds, then jumped off the blue stone and disappeared into the bushes.
Seeing this, Shishu clasped his fists in gratitude.
Then he said to us:
"We've arrived. Let's make a night journey and try to reach the foot of Fox Mountain by morning."
Lao Mo and I both nodded in agreement.
Then, following Shishu, we began to walk towards Fox Mountain...
