Chapter 131: Inheritance of the Lord of the Stars (Part 5)
Standing on the sea of stars, Kael watched the humanoid figure with an indifferent expression as it left the quanzhiand stood up.
As the Star Being rose, two more arms suddenly appeared, both holding weapons.
Standing completely upright and armed, it resembled a Buddha made of stars: beautiful yet terrifying.
However, Kael did not seem surprised by the star-like being’s form; he simply brandished his coin sword, as blood petals began to appear around him.
And in an instant, the star-being vanished, leaving only its residual image behind.
Kael’s eyes opened slightly, and the being appeared behind him in a matter of seconds.
The Star Being attacked with one of its weapons, a spear, in a powerful vertical strike. But Kael moved with delicacy and precision, throwing a blow into the air that surprised the being.
Kael enveloped his body in an aura and quickly moved behind him, launching a powerful counterattack. But the Star Being moved so fast that his blow generated friction as it struck the void.
"Heh, he’s pretty fast," he muttered, his eyes shining slightly with excitement.
His body was once again covered in a red aura of blood, while the star being stood once more in the center of the room, next to the quanzhi.
Kael noticed that the being’s four hands were now wielding weapons made of stars, and a smile seemed to appear on its face.
It began to walk. Then its steps quickened, while small waves formed in the sea of stars. Kael began to run and, in the blink of an eye, appeared in front of the being.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The first clash was quick and brutal: the four hands of the star being moved rapidly, trying to block all of Kael’s simple but lethal attacks.
The confrontation continued to intensify as the seconds passed. Kael became more dominant with each blow, leaving petals of blood in the air.
He poured much of his aura into the coin sword, which was covered in red blood, and delivered a powerful vertical slash.
Swoosh!
The air whistled due to the friction caused. When the attack was just inches away from the star being’s neck, it disappeared, leaving behind its residual image.
In a matter of seconds, he appeared in front of Kael and lunged forward. But Kael reacted in time and blocked the attack aimed directly at his heart.
CLANG!
The metallic sound echoed throughout the room, followed by an echo. Kael was thrown several meters backward, a trickle of blood escaping from his mouth.
"His movements are much more precise and lethal," muttered Michel, watching from afar. He couldn’t help but admire Kael a little as he saw how he had cornered that star-like being, which moved at great speed.
Compared to when he fought in the Great Spring Tournament, his movements were now much more precise and lethal.
He didn’t show all his skills in the tournament. That was the conclusion he came to as he watched this first exchange, and a slight smile appeared on his lips; he was eager to fight Kael right now.
Meanwhile, Kael wiped the blood from his mouth as he calculated the essence of mana he had expended.
In this first exchange, I spent about 25% of my mana essence; I spent more than usual.
Kael was not satisfied with how much he had spent in this first exchange, but he knew it was inevitable because the star being was quite agile, and he couldn’t let up for even a second.
That’s why he used his aura to heighten his senses, because if he hadn’t done so in the first exchange, his head would have been rolled in the sea of stars.
Pushing his thoughts aside, Kael focused all his attention once again on the starry being, which was beginning to slowly approach.
His body was once again covered by the blood-red aura, and several petals began to float around him.
Kael blinked.
The being was already in front of him.
The four hands armed with starlight moved in unison. One spear descended like lightning, another sliced through the air horizontally, while two swords traced arcs that sought to open Kael up in a cross.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The metallic sound echoed across the sea of stars. Kael deflected the spear with his coin sword, leaning his body to dodge the horizontal slash.
The blood petals swirled around him like a living battlefield. Each clash caused the sea of stars to vibrate.
The star-being advanced with fury. Its four arms did not move chaotically: they danced perfectly, symmetrically, as if embodying the absolute harmony of destruction. A war Buddha woven from constellations.
Kael retreated step by step, keeping his cool. Each deflection of his sword was minimal, precise, and enough to ward off death without wasting strength.
Suddenly, he spun around and launched an upward slash. The coin-covered blade, bathed in red, flashed brightly, splitting the darkness in two. The creature paused for a moment, just long enough for Kael to advance.
His figure became a flash.
A downward slash, a side blow, a diagonal thrust.
Clang! Clang! BOOM!
The being responded with all four arms at once: two swords blocked, the spear counterattacked, and a star axe formed in that very instant descended with violence.
The collision shook the entire stage. A shockwave spread out in circles, lifting the sea of stars as if they were giant waves.
Kael was thrown backwards, dragging his feet across the stellar surface, leaving a trail of blood in the air. However, his eyes burned brightly.
"Not bad." He smiled coldly.
The aura of blood roared like a dragon around him. The petals multiplied, swirling like a crimson whirlwind that covered his entire body.
The four-armed being did not wait. He lunged forward again, his four arms raised to the sky, like a god summoning the end of the world.
Kael lowered his center of gravity, gripped the hilt of the coin sword tightly, and in the blink of an eye... the two crashed into each other again.
CLANG!
Kael flew through the air, his feet skimming across the sea of stars until he came to a halt just inches away from Michel, who hadn’t moved a muscle, but whose face was contorted with intense emotion.
The same thing happened to the star creature, which also flew several meters away after the collision; however, several of its weapons were destroyed.
"Kael, I can fight that thing," Michel said without taking his eyes off the star creature.
"Sure, pass me Elizabeth’s body." Kael handed him the coin sword, while Michel gave him Elizabeth.
Michel looked at him and said, "No, you were going to take care of him."
Kael simply snorted lightly, "You don’t really want to fight that thing."
Michel simply smiled slightly without saying a word as a black aura covered his body and took the shape of a dragon.
Seeing Michel leave, Kael’s eyes flashed brightly as he said.
"How long are you going to pretend she’s fainted?"
Hearing Kael’s cold, emotionless voice, Elizabeth’s body shook violently, but she still did not open her eyes.
"..." Seeing this, Kael, without thinking twice, grabbed her by the neck and began to squeeze tightly.
"Stop... I can’t breathe..." But it seemed that Elizabeth’s voice did not reach Kael’s ears, who continued to exert more and more force.
Elizabeth, who stopped pretending, began to struggle to escape Kael’s grip, but she couldn’t. It was as if she were trying to free herself from the embrace of a purple gorilla with pink manicures.
As she was about to lose consciousness, she felt his grip loosen, and she could breathe easily again.
"You’re a damn monster! You almost killed me!" Elizabeth shouted, her eyes flashing with hatred, cold sweat running down her forehead.
"So you still have enough strength to yell at me." Kael’s voice was cold as he stared intently into Elizabeth’s eyes.
"..." Elizabeth remained silent, remembering how this person had almost choked her a few moments ago, and decided to change the subject: "How did you realize I was faking it?"
Kael simply remained silent, with no intention of responding, and fixed his attention on Michel, who was about to face stardom.
Elizabeth, for her part, seeing the lack of response, simply remained silent and did not attempt anything stupid because she knew that Kael would not hesitate to kill her if she tried to escape.
...
Michel, with a black aura covering his body and the coin sword in his hand, was surrounded by a black dragon that slowly circled him, waiting for the moment to attack with all its might.
He watched as the star being created new weapons in its glowing hands. Its eyes, filled with hostility, were fixed on Michel.
Michel advanced slowly, his eyes shining slightly with excitement as he moved toward the being.
The being responded in kind: at first, he walked calmly, then he quickened his pace until he was jogging, and in the blink of an eye, he was running with all his might.
In a matter of seconds, he lunged at Michel, unleashing all his power in a devastating blow.
The crash was brutal.
A metallic bang tore through the silence.
Clang!
