The Trickster King

Chapter 35 The Homely Male Nanny

Mu Jiahe then asked, "What are your plans next?"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Xun looked at the elegant woman before him in surprise. His instinctive reaction was, "You're not going to fire me, are you?"

Mu Jiahe was speechless. "What are you thinking? I mean, since the office is uninhabitable, do you have a place to rest? You can't still be living in an internet café, can you?"

When Xiao Xun heard he wasn't being fired, the tension in his heart eased. He then lowered his head in dejection. "I don't know, I'll just take it one step at a time!"

Mu Jiahe thought for a moment. "Besides cooking instant noodles, can you cook anything else?"

Xiao Xun nodded. "My family owns a restaurant. I've helped in our kitchen since I was little. I can't cook elaborate dishes from all regions, but my home-style cooking is quite good. It's just inconvenient to cook here, and I don't have much money, so I end up cooking instant noodles."

Mu Jiahe asked again, "Can you drive?"

Xiao Xun directly produced his driver's license. "I'm not too good, and I can only drive automatic transmission."

After answering, Xiao Xun thought to himself: What's gotten into me today? From the moment I opened my eyes, I've been answering questions.

Mu Jiahe produced a key from somewhere and tossed it to Xiao Xun. "Since you have nowhere to go, why don't you be my driver and chef? I'll provide food and lodging, what do you say?"

Xiao Xun looked at the key, appearing conflicted. "This, this isn't good! Aren't you afraid people in the company will gossip?"

Mu Jiahe waved her hand, exuding an air of dominance. "Talk about me? Do they think they have too much leisure time or not enough work?"

Even Xiao Xun felt that oppressive aura. It seemed that charisma wasn't built on money or position, but was an innate quality.

After resolving the immediate issues, Mu Jiahe contacted the renovation team overnight and had security clear out a conference room on the fifth floor, set up computers, and establish it as the temporary office for the technical department.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xun had already informed all employees about the change in office location through the company's internal communication system, via the main group chat for the technical department, so they wouldn't go to the wrong place.

Soon, many employees responded with "Received."

Xiao Xun looked at the flood of messages on his phone. "Hey! These guys, still awake late at night, what are they all doing?"

Because the office operations were conducted on an internal network, much like an internet café, as long as the server was functioning correctly, anyone with an account and password could work from their machines, making it very convenient.

Of course, important contracts and documents were stored and managed by a specialized confidential room. Therefore, aside from a few undelivered hard copy documents that were damaged, along with some computers and personal belongings, there were no significant losses.

Checking the time, it was already past two in the morning.

Mu Jiahe yawned and patted Xiao Xun on the shoulder. "Let's go! Come back with me."

The two went to the garage. Xiao Xun saw a legendary top-tier sedan, with suicide doors and a starlight headliner.

Mu Jiahe looked at the dazed Xiao Xun. "What are you staring at? Get in!"

Xiao Xun quickly waved his hands. "Ms. Mu, I dare not."

"What's wrong?"

Mu Jiahe looked at Xiao Xun curiously. "What's wrong?"

"My left arm is injured, which already makes things inconvenient. Now you want me to drive this car with one hand? I'd probably die without even knowing how."

Mu Jiahe reached over and held Xiao Xun's injured left arm. Xiao Xun didn't dare to move, only feeling a surge of heat engulfing his entire left arm.

An intense burning sensation instantly spread through his entire arm.

Xiao Xun desperately broke free from Mu Jiahe's hand and looked at his burning left arm. A miraculous thing happened: his left arm could move, and he felt no pain at all.

He unbound the bandage and indeed, it was healed, with no pain whatsoever. "This is too amazing, Ms. Mu, how did you do it?"

Mu Jiahe casually replied, "It's too simple, I don't have the inclination to explain. I'm tired, let's drive."

Xiao Xun opened the car door with gentlemanly grace, and Mu Jiahe settled into the back seat.

In the driver's seat, Xiao Xun continued to look at his recovered left arm, finding it truly unbelievable.

He unconsciously shifted his waist again, thinking: This car, worth over ten million, is indeed comfortable to sit in.

As he reached to close the car door, he saw Mu Jiahe press a button beside her, and the door closed automatically. He then remembered that this car didn't have a manual door closure.

He searched for a while, and because the interior wasn't very bright, he even turned on his phone's flashlight before he found it.

"I saw on TV that people who drive these cars wear white gloves."

Mu Jiahe frowned. "Hurry up and drive. It's just a car, there's no need for so much fuss."

His left hand's recovery filled him with excitement, and coupled with the ability to drive such a vehicle, he felt he had instantly reached the pinnacle of his life.

After searching for a long time and still not knowing how to start it, he turned to look at Mu Jiahe. "Ms. Mu, perhaps we should get a chauffeur? I really don't know how to drive."

Mu Jiahe opened the car door expressionlessly, moved to the passenger seat, and said in a very cold tone, "Remember, I'll only teach you once."

Then she instructed Xiao Xun to insert the key into a slot on the left, step on the brake, and press the start button. The 'little golden man' on the hood of the car rose, he then used the right hand to shift the gear lever to drive, turned on the headlights with his left hand, felt everything was in order, and said, "Then we're off."

The car slowly drove out of the underground garage. The security guards at the entrance even came out of their booth and saluted upon seeing the car.

Under Mu Jiahe's guidance, the car left the bustling city and headed towards the quiet suburbs.

As the crowds thinned, Xiao Xun's mind began to wander. It wasn't until they reached the entrance of the city's well-known villa district that his heart slowly settled back into place.

The security guards at the gate were all dressed in black suits and white shirts, carrying walkie-talkies, looking like burly private bodyguards.

Upon seeing Ms. Mu's vehicle, they opened the access gate from a distance.

Watching the security guards salute, Xiao Xun said to Mu Jiahe beside him, "This neighborhood is too unsafe. These security guards open the gate as soon as they see a luxury car. Aren't they afraid the driver is a disguised robber?"

Mu Jiahe nodded. "What you say makes a lot of sense. I'll mention this to their supervisor later."

After being told the specific villa number, Xiao Xun drove the car to the entrance of a private garage.

"Doesn't this gate open automatically? I've seen other garages where it opens by itself when the car arrives."

Mu Jiahe explained, "It doesn't open if it's full. Let's just park it here for now. We have to leave again at eight."

After turning off the engine and getting out of the car, Mu Jiahe handed him a key. "There are two of these keys, one for you and one for me."

Xiao Xun looked at the antique key in his hand. "Aren't all door locks smart nowadays? Those are more secure. Who still uses keys like this?"

Mu Jiahe opened the front door and looked at Xiao Xun. "Do you think this kind of house needs those smart door locks you're talking about?"

At that moment, a patrol car slowly drove past the villa's fence. It paused briefly as it passed the entrance, and after identifying them, continued forward.

Following Mu Jiahe inside, Xiao Xun was stunned by the opulence before him. "Is this... a palace?"

The luxury of the decoration was beyond anything he could have imagined even in his wildest dreams from watching television.

Mu Jiahe was amused by Xiao Xun's reaction. "You're the first person to enter this house and make such a surprised exclamation."

Xiao Xun looked around. "A home this big must be very troublesome to clean, right?"

Mu Jiahe changed into comfortable slippers at the entrance and casually tossed her high heels aside. "There are dedicated staff who clean every day at fixed times. However, now that you're here, you can also help clean the various rooms when you have nothing else to do."

Saying this, she saw Xiao Xun still standing foolishly at the entrance, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Change your shoes and come in!"
