Chapter 2 The Competition Ends
The second group of matches concluded.
Surprisingly, Miyamoto Ze lost.
Although the score difference was significant, and the French producer narrowly won, Miyamoto Ze's defeat was unexpected for many.
Even the producers backstage expressed their astonishment.
"Miyamoto Ze's song was fine, and both their approaches were similar. It's just that Adolph's singer was too powerful," Jin Chengxian summarized.
"The French singer's strength was even greater than rumored, it seems they were holding back."
"Everyone was holding back, but Adolph used a trump card to win the first match."
The others wore serious expressions.
No one had expected the first match to be so intense that a trump card would be played.
With two more groups yet to compete, would anyone else play their trump card?
Clearly, no one knew. The question now was whether to reveal some of their hidden strength early to secure a spot in the winner's bracket.
"They're calling us, let's go." As the host called out Sean's name.
He said to the British producer beside him.
Then, the two singers also stood up simultaneously and walked towards the stage.
Sean was naturally brimming with confidence. His state was excellent this time, he had written a song he was very satisfied with, and with the top singer Brown backing him, he truly feared nothing.
The singer from the UK was the icy beauty Mina.
She walked silently at the end, suddenly stopped, and looked back in Su Yu's direction.
"See? Miss Mina is looking at me. She actually wants to sit with me and doesn't want me to leave," Losov said smugly to Svalar beside him, feeling Mina's gaze.
Mina was exceptionally beautiful and had a cool personality, causing many to want to melt this ice. Especially Jin Chengxian from Han country, who fell in love at first sight with Mina. At a previous reception, he had even declared, "This cold-faced beauty is perfect for me."
However, even facing a playboy like Jin Chengxian, Mina hadn't spared him a second glance.
"Why do I feel like she's looking at me?" Svalar adjusted his collar, a gentlemanly smile on his lips.
"Pfft! With all that hair on your face, would she look at you?" Losov scoffed.
Svalar sneered, "It's better than someone whose hair is about to fall out."
Losov detested being called bald. He reacted like a wolf whose tail had been stepped on, "I didn't say anything about you just now. Singing like that and still not feeling ashamed, it's all your fault for losing!"
Svalar leaned back on the sofa and chuckled, "Since when did the Age Music King become a competition between singers?"
Losov's face turned red with anger, unable to retort.
At this moment, seeing that the two were about to fight, the program team quickly stepped in to mediate.
Su Yu, who was watching from the side, slightly raised his head and sighed inwardly.
"Indeed, beautiful women are often the cause of trouble. The ancients were not wrong!"
A single glance from Mina could make the two of them argue.
However, thinking that these two were from Eguo, it was not surprising.
After all, it was good they hadn't started fighting, considering they were from the 'fighting nation.'
...
After everyone had finished their competitions, they all returned to the stage.
The host announced the lists for the winner's bracket and the loser's bracket.
Group A: China (Tingyu), France (Adolph), USA (Sean), Han Country (Jin Chengxian).
Group B: Japan (Miyamoto Ze), UK (Lauren), Poland (Roman), Eguo (Losov).
The winners' bracket members each received an additional point for winning their matches.
However, since Tingyu was the first to perform, he ranked ahead of everyone else.
This made others very unhappy. After all, everyone had the same score, and Tingyu's good luck placed him at the top. The producers behind him were eager for the next competition to start so they could push this Chinese producer down from first place.
Unfortunately, the next competition wouldn't start until next month, meaning Tingyu would remain in first place for a month.
This was a huge exposure, definitely allowing him to become familiar on the world stage.
"Tingyu has good luck. If he had met Sean, he would definitely have ended up in the loser's bracket."
"Exactly, Sean's song earlier was too amazing. A high-difficulty song, plus Brown's god-tier performance, definitely the best of the show!"
"Let him stay for a month. Tingyu will fall off next time."
"Although Sean's song was difficult, this competition is about songwriting, about the song's congruence with the theme. Tingyu's song was definitely the most fitting for the theme of the entire show, so stop overhyping Sean."
"Don't bother explaining, it's useless. These foreigners don't even look at the lyrics, let alone Tingyu's."
"But Tingyu's arrangement was also excellent. It can only be said that Sean has too many fans."
"So keyboard warriors aren't exclusive to China; these foreigners have plenty too."
Globally, in terms of fan numbers, even with China's large population and most of them being Tingyu's fans, they still couldn't compare to Sean. He had consistently ranked in the top few on the Age Music charts, accumulating countless fans.
Therefore, seeing Tingyu ranked ahead of Sean made these people immediately unhappy.
Of course, the competition rules were what they were, and they could only vent their emotions in the comments section.
"As per the request from the Cuban government, they wish to purchase the copyright of a certain producer's song to create a tourism theme song. Please welcome the President of the Cuban Tourism Association, Lopez, to the stage!"
The host's sudden additional segment surprised all the viewers.
The Cuban government wanted to buy a producer's song copyright?
Whose song??
Even the producers on stage were somewhat taken aback.
They exchanged glances, then looked on with anticipation.
This was a great opportunity to prove themselves, especially for those producers who had lost. If their song was chosen by the Cuban government, it would be a matter of great prestige, even if the probability was small.
Under everyone's gaze.
Lopez, the official from Cuba, stepped onto the stage.
He walked directly towards the winner's bracket.
As he got closer.
Sean's smile grew more smug.
However, just as he was about to extend his hand to shake Lopez's, Lopez walked past him and finally stopped in front of Tingyu.
"Mr. Tingyu, I am Lopez, President of the Cuban Tourism Association. We wish to purchase part of the copyright for your song 'Mojito' for tourism and cultural promotion," he said with a smile, extending his hand to Su Yu.
Sean was stunned.
The other producers were stunned.
The audience was silent.
No one had expected that the Cuban government would be interested in Tingyu's song 'Mojito'!
However.
What they didn't expect even more was.
This opportunity, dreamed of by all producers, Tingyu's first sentence wasn't an immediate agreement.
"How much?"
That's right. After shaking hands with Lopez, he first asked about the price.
This might seem normal in everyday transactions, as price is the most important aspect of buying and selling.
But this was the Cuban government!
Writing a song in the local style and receiving official recognition from the local government would bring fame and rewards that far exceeded the value of money!
