Chapter 68 Believing Her Completely

Lan Yan heard the sound and slowly woke up, looking at Jun Yelan in a daze. She shook her head, finding that she was no longer dizzy and her nose had stopped running. Her cold was gone.

Her eyes lit up, her complexion improved, and a smile graced her lips.

Seeing Lan Yan smile, Jun Yelan thought she was out of danger and breathed a sigh of relief. But he couldn't help but reach out and touch her forehead, checking her temperature against his own.

Lan Yan, however, was startled. Jun Yelan was touching her forehead! She even leaned in a bit closer and said with a smile, "Jun Yelan, I'm all better now."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jun Yelan retracted his hand into his sleeve. His expression turned grim, and he said coldly, "Why didn't you tell me you were sick? In your eyes, am I so weak that I can only be taken care of and not take care of others?"

He didn't know why, but an unnamable anger surged within him. httpδ:/m.kuAisugg.nět

Seeing that she had been discovered, Lan Yan said, "Then next time, you can take care of me."

"There's a next time!" Jun Yelan was so angry his chest ached.

Lan Yan looked at Jun Yelan's angry expression and realized the matter was quite serious. She tugged at Jun Yelan's sleeve, gently shaking it and saying, "Jun Yelan, please don't be angry anymore, okay?"

"I promise you, there won't be a next time. This was truly an accident." In the past, when she was sick, she had always gotten through it alone. She had forgotten that she now had someone to care for her.

This feeling of being cared for was wonderful.

Jun Yelan lowered his head and looked at his sleeve. The anger in his heart inexplicably subsided. He turned his head away, not pulling his sleeve back, and said, "I'm going back to rest."

He pushed the wheelchair and was about to leave.

Lan Yan thought Jun Yelan was still angry and quickly followed him.

When Jun Yelan lay on the bed, she still sat by the bedside, blinking innocently. "If you're still angry, I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight. Sigh."

Jun Yelan said, "Alright, I'm not angry anymore. Go to sleep quickly; you're still sick." He handed her a thick quilt to cover herself.

Lan Yan naturally accepted it, narrowing her eyes. It seemed Jun Yelan was no longer angry. Satisfied, she lay down on the ground, and soon, steady breathing could be heard.

Jun Yelan: "..." What happened to not being able to sleep?

The next morning, Lan Yan got up early and exercised in the courtyard. Her body was too weak; she had to build it up, at least enough to take down a big man.

After completing a set of exercises, she asked Xia Lian to bring a large basin over and transplant lotuses into it. She looked at her hands covered in soil and nodded with satisfaction.

Then she shelled the lotus seeds and cooked porridge.

When Jun Yelan pushed his wheelchair out, he saw the lotus basin in the courtyard. His heart trembled, and he walked to the lotus basin. Looking at the lotuses inside, he immediately understood that Lan Yan had done all this for him.

So she had fallen sick because of him.

He couldn't help but clench his fists, complex emotions surging within him. Ever since he became crippled, no one had cared about him this much.

Lan Yan came back with the porridge and saw Jun Yelan lost in thought in front of the lotus basin. She tiptoed over, gently patted Jun Yelan's shoulder, and said with a smile, "Aren't they beautiful? And these lotus seeds are delicious too."

She had eaten quite a bit while cooking the porridge.

"Mhm." Jun Yelan smiled and nodded, slightly clenching his fist to suppress the impulse within him. He forced himself to relax and refrained from looking at Lan Yan, turning to drink the porridge instead.

Lan Yan also sat down, and they drank together.

After finishing, Jun Yelan said, "Come with me; I have something for you." His expression was serious, and he had made a decision.

Lan Yan, filled with confusion, followed him into the room.

Jun Yelan pushed open a cabinet by the wall, revealing another small cabinet inside. He took out several account books and said, "These are my private assets. From today onwards, they belong to you as well."

"From now on, my people are your people."

Lan Yan really wanted to give him a thumbs-up. As expected of Jun Yelan, he was truly formidable. She opened the account books and discovered that the jewelry shop she had visited was also one of Jun Yelan's businesses.

She was doing business for herself.

She asked, "Jun Yelan, by giving these to me, do you trust me completely?"

Looking at Lan Yan's smile, Jun Yelan instinctively wanted to nod. But he still turned his head away and said, "You are the Princess Consort; naturally, you should manage these."

"Oh, so the Princess Consort also manages the Prince's fortune and life." Lan Yan knew Jun Yelan was just shy and didn't expose him, chuckling to herself. "Then, Prince, I accept them and will definitely take good care of them."

Jun Yelan nodded and thought to himself, "Lan Yan, I'm trusting you this time. I hope you won't disappoint me. Otherwise..." He clenched his fist, unwilling to think about what would come next.

Lan Yan put the account books back in their place. It was safer here. Now that Jun Yelan trusted her, the next step was to strengthen that trust!

Many ideas from storybooks popped into her mind.

Seeing Lan Yan's eyes darting around, Jun Yelan knew she had another idea brewing. He was somewhat looking forward to it.

In the afternoon, Lan Yan was preparing fruit in the courtyard, intending to make a fruit tea.

Not far away, several maids were discussing. "The Lantern Festival is coming this year. I really want to go out and see it. I heard last year's was very beautiful, with big lanterns."

"It's a pity we're in the Prince's manor now and can't go out freely. Besides, the manor is always so desolate during festivals. It's really boring."

"You shouldn't say that in front of the Prince. The Prince hasn't gone out in years and doesn't like noisy sounds. If it weren't for the Princess Consort recently, who knows when the Prince would have left his room?"

These words fell into Lan Yan's ears without missing a beat. She murmured, "Lantern Festival, that's a good time for an outing." Although Jun Yelan didn't go out, she could arrange a small lantern festival within the manor.

This was an excellent idea.

She approached the maids and said, "You want to see the lanterns? It's not that difficult."

The maids were startled by her voice and immediately knelt down, crying, "Princess Consort, your maids didn't mean to gossip. We absolutely have no dissatisfaction with the Prince's manor."

Their survival instincts were quite strong. Lan Yan smiled and said, "Get up. I won't punish you. Instead, I have something for you to do." She threw a money pouch to them and said, "Go to the market and buy some lanterns. You are responsible for decorating the Prince's manor."

"We will celebrate the festival in the manor this year."

The maids' eyes immediately lit up with excitement, and they shouted, "That's wonderful! Thank you, Princess Consort." They could finally see the lanterns.

"Go." Lan Yan watched the maids leave and then turned back to the courtyard, seeing Xia Lian delivering something.

Xia Lian said, "Princess Consort, this is from Miss Lan. She invites you to the Lantern Festival. She also said there will be a huge crowd and asked you to bring the Prince along."

"Heh." Lan Yan sneered, "She's deliberately trying to embarrass the Prince. Write back to her saying that the Prince's status is noble, and it's inconvenient for her to accompany the Prince. Remember to write it in large characters."

She would make Lan Xiaoxiao look foolish first.

Xia Lian couldn't help but smile. The Princess Consort certainly had many ideas.

Lan Yan walked into the room with a smile.
