Chapter 50 The Decisive Battle

Jun Yelan walked over and hugged Lan Yan from behind. He rested his head on her shoulder, clasped her waist, and remained silent for a long time.

Lan Yan was startled to be hugged, but smelling a familiar scent, she didn't push him away. She turned her head, saw Jun Yelan's tired face, and comforted him, "You will definitely win tomorrow."

"I believe in you."

Jun Yelan hugged Lan Yan's waist tighter. For the first time, he felt fear for the future, not of dying himself, but of never seeing Lan Yan again.

He just wanted to be with Lan Yan like this.

Seeing that Jun Yelan remained silent, Lan Yan turned around and looked up at him. She reached out, pinched Jun Yelan's face, and smiled, "Don't be so dejected. Smile. You look so handsome when you smile."

Upon hearing this, Jun Yelan's lips curved into a slight smile.

Lan Yan nodded with satisfaction, "That's more like it. I used to get scared too, but I cheered myself up and felt much better. You try it too."

She raised her arms and shouted, "Go for it!"

Jun Yelan wasn't used to this approach, but seeing Lan Yan like this, the worries in his heart truly diminished. He realized that he was swayed by Lan Yan's emotions, and she brought much color to his dark life.

He couldn't help but reach out and kiss Lan Yan again. This time, his kiss was possessive, greedily wanting to be closer to Lan Yan, wanting Lan Yan to belong to him.

He thought that if he lost Lan Yan, he would find her no matter what it took, even if he had to search the heavens and the earth!

Lan Yan's body softened, and she couldn't breathe. She felt a little uncomfortable and wanted to push Jun Yelan away, but her wrist was held, leading to more intense actions.

Just as she felt she was about to faint, Jun Yelan finally released her. She leaned against Jun Yelan's chest, completely drained of strength.

Jun Yelan stroked Lan Yan's back, a smile on his lips, as if savoring the lingering taste. He suppressed his physical reaction, afraid of scaring Lan Yan.

He dared not tell Lan Yan that he wanted more.

Lan Yan leaned for a while, her mind clearing. Her cheeks were flushed, and she didn't want to deal with Jun Yelan anymore. However, considering tomorrow, she would forgive Jun Yelan for today.

Besides, sleeping with a big cuddle pillow at night wasn't so bad.

The next morning, Jun Yelan headed to the battlefield. Before he left, he glanced at the sleeping Lan Yan, his eyes filled with reluctance. "Yan'er, wait for me to return."

On the battlefield, the two armies faced each other.

Jun Yelan was positioned in the mountains. After arranging his forces, he saw the enemy army on the open plain. Today, he planned to lure the enemy into a trap.

He turned his horse and headed back.

The soldiers behind him were confused and looked towards the Serpent Clan's Crown Prince.

"Follow him," the Crown Prince said, sitting on a high chair in the center, leisurely holding a wine cup, and coldly watching Jun Yelan's retreating figure. Today, Jun Yelan was destined to die!

The soldiers dared not disobey and had to charge forward. However, as soon as they reached the mountain pass, they were hit by falling rocks from the mountain, suffering heavy casualties.

The remaining soldiers continued to charge forward and reached a canyon, where the path behind them was blocked. A raging fire erupted all around, trapping them.

Jun Yelan, riding his horse not far away, watched this scene and let out a cold laugh. The Crown Prince was always arrogant and resentful of him, so he would surely follow.

"Crown Prince, you have now lost your elites, and the remainder are useless. You are the one who will lose today!" He looked at the soldiers behind him and shouted, "Charge!"

Thousands of soldiers surged from behind him, charging onto the open ground and attacking the enemy soldiers.

The Crown Prince watched this scene in disbelief, looked up at the black smoke in the sky above the valley, and roared, "Damn it! We've been outmaneuvered." However, he still had a contingency plan. He said to his guard, "Go and prepare. Wait for the right moment to release the divine arrow."

As long as Jun Yelan died, these soldiers would be no threat.

The guard left and went to a secluded spot, taking out the golden arrow.

Meanwhile, Jun Yelan had already killed the soldiers in front of the Crown Prince and pointed his sword at him. He flicked a thin thread towards the high platform, leaving a bloody gash on the Crown Prince's face.

The Crown Prince touched his face, looked at the blood on his hand, and angrily smashed the wine cup to the ground. He waved his hand, ordering the soldiers on both sides, "Kill him for me."

But the soldiers were no match for Jun Yelan.

Jun Yelan stepped over the corpses at his feet, his gaze fearless as he advanced step by step, slashing towards the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince froze, his gaze shifting towards where the guard was.

At this moment, Lan Yan was pacing anxiously in the military camp. She clutched her chest, feeling a sense of unease since waking up that morning. "Will something major happen today?"

She looked at the gloomy sky, feeling even more unsettled. She asked, "System, is he really okay!"

But there was no response from the system.

Lan Yan became a little flustered. She took a deep breath to calm herself.

Suddenly, the system's serious voice sounded, "Alert, alert! The mission target is in mortal danger. Host, please pay attention."

"What!" Lan Yan had no time to ask further and immediately rode her horse towards the battlefield. On the way, she asked, "What danger? Explain it clearly."

But the system went silent again.

Lan Yan: "..." Fine, she would rely on herself. When she arrived at the battlefield, she saw Jun Yelan approaching the central high platform, which was already piled with corpses.

She scanned her surroundings, trying to figure out where the threat to Jun Yelan might be. But it was too chaotic, and she couldn't find it immediately. So, she rode her horse, flicking her whip, and headed towards Jun Yelan.

Along the way, she encountered many enemy soldiers and threw medicinal powder at them. Fortunately, she had brought plenty when she left!

Just as she was about to get close to Jun Yelan, she suddenly saw a golden arrow shoot towards her from the side. Her pupils contracted, and she immediately flicked her whip, trying to catch the arrow.

Just as she was about to succeed, the arrow suddenly changed direction and shot towards her side. She looked at Jun Yelan behind her, and with a resolute heart, she moved aside.

She felt the arrow pierce through her flesh and blood, and her hands tightly gripped the shaft of the arrow, preventing it from penetrating further. But the pain was immense, so much so that she spat out a mouthful of blood and felt like collapsing to the ground.

Jun Yelan's sword was already close to the Crown Prince's neck. Suddenly, he felt something precious beside him being lost. He turned his head and saw only Lan Yan's frail figure falling backward.

He stood there stunned, feeling as if everything around him had turned gray. His eyes were fixed on the figure in blue. He unleashed his serpent tail and pulled Lan Yan towards him.

Looking at Lan Yan's fragile state, his hands and lips trembled. He gently hugged Lan Yan's body, wanting to call her name, but not a sound could escape his throat.

After a long moment, he shouted with all his might, "Yan'er!"

Lan Yan looked at Jun Yelan's tear-streaked face and wanted to reach out to wipe away his tears. But her hands couldn't lift, and she could only weakly grasp Jun Yelan's sleeve. She knew she wouldn't die; after all, her mission wasn't complete.

She wanted to speak, but as soon as she moved her lips, only blood came out. Her eyelids grew heavy, and she thought she would just sleep for a while, closing her eyes. The system returned to her mind.

Jun Yelan watched Lan Yan close her eyes, his heart feeling as if it had stopped beating. He crouched there, his eyes bloodshot, then turned and roared, "Kill you all!"
