Lan Yan first moved the human puppet, shouting, "Oh, a snake clan member is injured, what should we do! Maybe I should take him home."
She then moved the snake clan puppet, glanced at the human puppet, and retreated.
Next, the human puppet took care of the snake clan puppet, even making vows. The snake clan puppet, initially recoiling, slowly drew closer.
She put away the glove puppets and said with a smile, "Today's magic show ends here. For the next part, please wait and see." Her face was beaming as she looked at Jun Yelán and asked, "How was mine?"
However, she saw the smile on Jun Yelán's lips. Goodness, it was too beautiful. This was the first time Jun Yelán had smiled at her, and it seemed her trick was incredibly effective.
Jun Yelán noticed Lan Yan staring at him and shifted his gaze uncomfortably. He realized that these two puppets represented him and Lan Yan.
And he found the way Lan Yan imitated them to be somewhat amusing, even making him laugh for a moment.
He now firmly believed that the Lan Yan before him was someone else, someone who wouldn't hurt him. A trace of curiosity surfaced in his heart: what exactly did this Lan Yan want by approaching him?
He wanted to find the answer. He replied, "Mm."
Although it was just a single word, Lan Yan was already content. She placed the glove puppet next to Jun Yelán, saying, "It's for you. Also, you look a hundred times better when you smile than usual."
Smiling more would improve one's mood and, consequently, their health.
Jun Yelán stood frozen. After Lan Yan left, he picked up the glove puppet beside him, a slight curve forming on his lips.
Meanwhile, Lan Yan was heading to the kitchen when she encountered Lan Ya, who was carrying a basket full of flowers.
Lan Ya called out with a smile, "Eldest Sister."
"What are you doing?" Lan Yan asked out of pure curiosity.
Lan Ya smiled and said, "Eldest Sister, have you forgotten that the annual Flower Festival is coming? I'm picking flowers to put in the yard, and some to make flower tea."
"Also, Eldest Sister, I heard that if you hang flowers at the top of a tree, it can bless your wishes to come true." Eldest Sister's wishes must be related to that young master Jun, wanting a harmonious relationship, which perfectly aligns with the purpose of the Flower Festival.
Lan Yan didn't actually believe this, but if it could help her mission progress smoothly, a good omen wouldn't hurt. She smiled and said, "Lan Ya, thank you. You go on with your work."
"Alright, Eldest Sister. Here, this flower is for you too. It's the prettiest one I picked just now." Lan Ya handed the largest flower from the basket to Lan Yan.
Lan Yan smiled, thanked her, then peeked into the kitchen and gave the cook a few instructions. Afterward, holding a flower, she returned to her courtyard.
She looked around, found the tallest tree, and gazing at its top, called out, "Chuntao, bring me the ladder."
Chuntao was bewildered but complied. Seeing Lan Yan climbing up, she shouted, "No, Miss, this is too dangerous. You should let me do it."
"It's fine, I used to climb trees when I was little," Lan Yan said dismissively, continuing her ascent. She reached the highest point of the ladder and prepared to place the flower, but it wasn't enough, so she tiptoed.
As the flower was about to be placed on the treetop, her foot slipped from the ladder, and she began to fall backward.
"Miss!" Chuntao's anxious cry came from behind.
Lan Yan regretted it, feeling that this fall might be her last! Heavens, her mission wasn't completed yet, and she was still reluctant to part with Jun Yelán's handsome presence.
However, the next instant, she was standing firmly on the ladder. Looking down, she saw a snake tail wrapped around her waist.
