Chapter 316 Carrying Home

Jun Yelan was held tightly by the person in his arms. He wanted to push Lan Yan away but ultimately didn't. He could feel Lan Yan trembling, and it was different from before. He spoke, "It's me."

"That's great, I thought I met a bad person." Lan Yan's heart finally settled back. She looked up at Jun Yelan's face and smiled, "Jun Yelan, did you come specifically to find me?"

Jun Yelan's eyes flickered, and he turned his head slightly, "No, I came out for a walk at night." After those villagers left, he saw Lan Yan hadn't returned and thought he'd come to check on her.

He just felt that this was a crucial time for building the house, and if Lan Yan had an accident, it would cause a lot of trouble again.

Lan Yan buried her head in Jun Yelan's chest, "No matter what you came out for, thank you for coming out. That wind just now was really scary."

Hearing Lan Yan's aggrieved voice, Jun Yelan's tone softened, "Don't come back so late in the future, it's dangerous."

"Are you worried about me?" Lan Yan asked again, hugging Jun Yelan even tighter. This chest was so warm.

Jun Yelan didn't respond but said, "Hurry back, your elder brother is still waiting for you."

"Okay." Lan Yan finally let go of Jun Yelan and walked forward. Her ankle suddenly hurt. "My foot." She looked at her right foot, she must have sprained it.

Jun Yelan glanced at it and squatted down in front.

Lan Yan smiled and teased, "Jun Yelan, what are you doing?"

"If you don't get on, then forget it." Jun Yelan looked like he was about to get up.

Lan Yan immediately climbed up, her hands around Jun Yelan's neck, and muttered, "I just wanted to chat with you, you're too fierce."

Jun Yelan thought about it. His tone earlier really wasn't good, so he didn't say anything more. He held Lan Yan's leg, and could still feel the soft touch on his back. Thinking about what it was, the tips of his ears turned red.

"Don't be so close to me."

"What if you fall, what will happen to me!" Lan Yan wrapped her arms around Jun Yelan's neck, looking like she wouldn't let go no matter what. "Anyway, I'm not letting go."

A hint of helplessness appeared on Jun Yelan's face. He felt the touch become more obvious and focused his attention on the road ahead. He carried Lan Yan like this, step by step, all the way to his doorstep.

Lan Yan, on his back, had a smile on her lips the entire time, feeling a sense of complete peace.

At the doorstep, Lan Chuo was still waiting. Seeing Lan Yan being carried back, he said worriedly, "Sister, what happened?"

"Brother, I'm fine, just twisted my ankle. I'll just apply some medicine when I get back," Lan Yan said, urging Lan Chuo to go rest quickly. She was carried into the room by Jun Yelan.

Seeing Jun Yelan taking care of Lan Yan, Lan Chuo returned to his room.

Lan Yan was placed on the bedside. She watched Jun Yelan take out a medicine bottle from the cabinet and reached out to take it.

But Jun Yelan squatted down, removed her shoes and socks, looked at her swollen ankle, and poured the medicine into his palm to apply it. With a "hiss," he lightened the force in his hands.

"Now you know it hurts, why didn't you come back earlier?"

Lan Yan took out the contract from her arms and smiled, "Because I found a stable income, I'll read it to you." She remembered Jun Yelan couldn't read, so she read it word by word.

Jun Yelan understood. This was Lan Yan's deal with the restaurant for their recipes. He looked up and stared at Lan Yan, making her feel uncomfortable. He said, "This method is very good."

He hadn't expected Lan Yan to know these things. She seemed full of secrets now.

It was the first time Jun Yelan had praised her, and Lan Yan couldn't help but smile, "Heh heh, this is just the first step. When I have money later, I'll set up my own stall and even open a shop. I hope that when I earn money in the future, I can move our whole family to town."

"Family?" Jun Yelan's eyes deepened. He had never thought about these things. But Lan Yan had already made plans, and her plans included him. "Why?"

Lan Yan was stunned for a moment, not knowing what Jun Yelan was asking. She suddenly felt a hint of sadness in Jun Yelan's eyes, but it vanished in an instant, as if she had seen it wrong.

"Because I want my family to be well."

Jun Yelan pursed his lips and did not answer. He wanted to ask why she considered him family, but Lan Yan didn't pay attention to this and continued to rub her ankle.

Lan Yan was a bit puzzled. Did she answer incorrectly? She said, "Jun Yelan, believe me, I never go back on my word." After saying that, she yawned, her eyelids almost drooping, and lay down on the pillow.

Seeing this, Jun Yelan took the medicine bottle, put Lan Yan's socks back on, and tucked her feet under the covers. Then he sat by the bed, staring at Lan Yan's sleeping face, and after a long time, returned to his own place to sleep.

The next morning, Lan Yan found that her foot had healed. Jun Yelan was indeed capable. She opened the door and saw two women, Aunt Wang from next door and her daughter.

"Hello, Aunt Wang, why are you here?"

"I called them here." Jun Yelan walked over with a pile of wood, his expression faint, "Your foot is injured, I asked them to help you, and the wages have been discussed."

Aunt Wang looked at the young couple and smiled, "Yes, Jun Yelan came to my door early this morning. I thought something happened, but it turns out he was afraid you would get tired. Lan girl, you should cherish the person in front of you."

"Okay, thank you, Aunt Wang." Lan Yan smiled and said to Jun Yelan, "I will."

Jun Yelan was slightly stunned, his gaze evasive, "I have something else to do." He turned and walked forward, then turned back to look at Lan Yan, who was chatting with Aunt Wang. Her smile seemed to blind him.

He shook his head. He had been too close to Lan Yan recently. He walked towards the house and continued to organize the villagers to repair the roof.

At this moment, Li Erya also arrived. Looking at the busy crowd, she found Jun Yelan's back and smiled shyly. Then she also saw Lan Yan cooking and sneered, "Isn't that Lan Yan? She can cook now!"

"Can the food you cook be eaten?" Having lived with Lan Yan for so many years, she didn't know Lan Yan could cook. It was hard on Jun Yelan to live with someone like her.

Lan Yan, who had just finished washing vegetables, looked coldly at Li Erya, "Much tastier than yours. Scram, I'm busy today and have no time to bother with you."

"You! You're clearly saying my cooking is bad, and then you're talking about me." Li Erya said angrily.

The other villagers working heard this and shouted, "Li Erya, you're wrong about that. Lan girl's cooking is delicious." The other villagers chimed in.

Li Erya was instantly embarrassed but didn't believe Lan Yan's cooking was good! "You're all lying. We all know what kind of person she is!"

Lan Yan carried the basin to the yard entrance, "Li Erya, everyone has told you, so don't make a fool of yourself here." She directly poured the dishwashing water outside, looking at Li Erya, who was covered in vegetable scraps, and turned away triumphantly.

She really thought she was a pushover!
