The Overseer Headquarters, a dungeon that doesn't exist in any records—Cell Zero.
The inner demon led Ye Ling through several checkpoints and barriers within the Overseer Headquarters before arriving at the underground space.
"So, the Overseer Headquarters also has an underground space..."
Ye Ling floated in the void, looking at the suspended stones all around, and asked the inner demon, "How did you find such a hidden place?"
The inner demon chuckled, "After I captured the Primordial Soul King, I had nothing to do while sealed, so I often roamed the Overseer Headquarters and stumbled upon this place."
"Cell Zero is a top-secret information of the Overseers. Only members at the rank of Seven Pillars or higher are privy to its existence, and one must obtain direct permission from 'The Brain' to enter."
"This place is so important, who are they holding here?" Ye Ling asked curiously.
He had spent some time in the Overseers' prisons before, and even the ordinary cells held top powerhouses from the Primordial Chaos.
As for Cell Zero, hidden beneath the Overseer Headquarters, Ye Ling estimated it held terrifying beings from outside the Primordial Chaos.
The inner demon said, "I investigated. Cell Zero holds beings from outside the Primordial Chaos. Some are mysterious giant beasts they hunted outside the Primordial Chaos, and others are prisoners of war from the Primordial Realm."
"It's pretty much what I expected," Ye Ling nodded, not surprised by the inner demon's words.
After all, the Primordial Chaos was the Overseers' rear base. It was only logical to hold captured prisoners of war and important criminals in the safest location, their main base.
The inner demon continued, "We need to be careful from now on. Cell Zero has two jailers whose strength is comparable to 'theirs,' and there are also restrictions from 'The Brain' here. If we are discovered, we won't be able to escape."
"Understood."
Ye Ling nodded slightly and scanned his surroundings again. Apart from the floating stones, there was nothing else. He asked the inner demon, "Where are the cells?"
The inner demon replied, "Cell Zero is a bit special. The cells where prisoners are held are hidden in sub-spaces, and special keys are needed to open them."
"I secretly observed the movements of the two jailers. They work in shifts: one guards the cells for ten days, while the other sleeps for ten days, and they rotate like this."
"The keys to open the sub-spaces are exchanged during their shift changes. That's when we can use the Ink to replicate a key."
Ye Ling nodded, "Alright, we'll do as you say. How long until their next shift change?"
"Based on the time, it should be in three hours. Follow me, we'll go directly to their shift change point to ambush them."
During his time in the Overseer Headquarters, the inner demon had memorized the layout of Cell Zero and easily led Ye Ling past several traps, arriving at a giant stone suspended in mid-air.
The inner demon landed on the stone and pointed to the void not far ahead, "That place is where the jailers change shifts and hand over."
Ye Ling glanced at the empty space ahead and asked the inner demon, "I'm very curious, how do you determine direction? This Cell Zero is like outer space, with nothing but irregularly placed stones."
"Actually, I don't know."
The inner demon didn't play coy and chuckled, "There is very little information about Cell Zero. I don't even know how many prisoners are held here, so I used a brute-force method: I kept following those two jailers and found that they always change shifts here."
"The view that those two jailers see in Cell Zero seems different from ours. They can clearly know the location of every prisoner... but I haven't made a move on them, so I don't know how they do it."
Ye Ling suggested, "Then how about we take down one of them together after they finish the handover? If those two jailers are only 'their' level, we should be able to kill one without alerting 'The Brain's' restrictions."
"That's possible," the inner demon agreed with a nod. "However, I'm not very proficient in the Source Script, nor do I have the methods of the Primordial Kings. So, the main force in this operation will have to be you; I'll assist you."
"No problem."
After Ye Ling and the inner demon reached an agreement, they both went into hiding, patiently waiting for the shift change.
Boom!!!
However, just as they were about to reach the shift change, a massive explosion suddenly occurred in Cell Zero, alerting the entire Zero Dungeon.
Ye Ling and the inner demon exchanged glances, seeing a look of profound shock and confusion in each other's eyes.
"Did you do something?" Ye Ling asked the inner demon.
"It wasn't me," the inner demon shook his head. "Something happened in Cell Zero."
Ye Ling glanced at the place where the two jailers changed shifts and asked the inner demon, "Should we go take a look? If something happened in Cell Zero, I doubt those two jailers will still be on shift."
As soon as Ye Ling finished speaking, a ten-meter-tall jailer, wielding a giant scythe and emitting a green glow, appeared out of thin air at the shift change point and flew rapidly towards the direction of the explosion!
The entire Cell Zero's restrictions were immediately activated. Numerous sealing spiritual energy and spatial barriers appeared, completely trapping Ye Ling and the inner demon within Cell Zero.
The inner demon looked at the departing jailer and the rising barriers around them, and chuckled wryly, "It seems we have no choice but to go. Let's go... let's see who the hell dared to cause such a commotion in the Zero Dungeon!"
With no other option, Ye Ling and the inner demon abandoned their original plan and moved towards the direction of the explosion.
There, two mysterious powerhouses, one fat and one thin, were engaged in a fierce battle with the two jailers of Cell Zero.
The movements of the two mysterious powerhouses appeared extremely clumsy, and their footwork was incredibly unsteady, as if they had never learned martial arts. Yet, for some reason, they were always able to narrowly evade the jailers' fatal attacks while simultaneously striking the jailers in unimaginable ways.
Ye Ling arrived at the edge of the battlefield and, upon seeing the fat and thin figures, immediately recalled the two dark shadows mentioned by the Upper Realm Lord, who were always by Bai Yue's side.
The inner demon saw the two mysterious powerhouses and smiled knowingly, "So it's them... No wonder they dared to storm into Cell Zero head-on."
"Who are they?" Ye Ling asked the inner demon, remembering that the inner demon had mentioned that he had figured out Bai Yue's true identity through these two shadowy figures.
"The fat one is called Chi Mei, and the thin one is called Wang Liang. Just a couple of idiots."
"Chi Mei and Wang Liang..." Hearing the inner demon's words, Ye Ling couldn't help but laugh, "They really do have names that sound like low-level characters."
"Their appearance here is likely to break them out and rescue Bai Yue. Conveniently... it saves us some trouble."
