Chapter 146: Sister Qi’s Horse Race

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Sister Qi’s Horse Race

"Claire, Andrew and the others are going horse racing, are you going?"

Suddenly.

The door opened slightly, and a head poked in.

John Sinclair peeked through the door, eagerly watching the girl.

After last night, he and Sebastian Winn had hit it off with Andrew James and the other four, spending the whole evening sharing tales of Claire’s outrageous antics.

And those guys didn’t hold back, readily recounting Claire’s racing tales, making him regret not being there in person.

Horse racing?

Claire Green raised an eyebrow, asking with interest, "Is there a wager?"

As soon as she finished speaking.

John Sinclair froze, unable to stop himself from twitching the corners of his mouth.

Claire’s love for money is truly formidable; she can’t do anything without staking a bet.

"There is, and even if there wasn’t, I’d make sure there is one."

John grinned, assuring her.

Anything involving money is a minor issue, given that as a group, all they have is money.

"Tsk," Claire Green chuckled softly, "Being born into wealth really is something else."

She lazily got up, her steps leisurely and unhurried.

...

The group selecting horses at the racetrack suddenly noticed someone approaching from a distance and happily waved.

As they got closer, Andrew James couldn’t wait to speak up.

"Claire, how do you like the horse I picked?"

Claire Green lowered her eyelids, lazily examining the horse in front of her.

It looks pretty good.

With a sleek, shiny chestnut coat, its large eyes are bright and spirited, full of energy, and its four legs are as sturdy as columns.

"Not bad."

The girl’s tone was lazy, exuding a sense of ease.

Receiving the compliment, Andrew James felt proud, casting a smug look at Owen Lawrence and the others.

Who would have thought.

Owen Lawrence caught his expression and glanced away indifferently, as if he couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him.

Andrew, however, didn’t mind, as he was full of enthusiasm, challenging the girl.

"How about it, Claire, are you interested in a little competition?"

Watching Claire race last time had left his hands itching, but his skills were nothing compared to Claire’s technique.

But now it’s different; horse racing has always been part of their family education, and he didn’t believe Claire could surpass what he had learned since childhood.

Moreover, whether Claire could even ride a horse was another question; surely, aside from Julian, no one else could be good at both racing cars and horse riding?

"Are you sure?" Claire Green asked absentmindedly as she patted the horse.

Andrew James: "What’s there to be sure about, but do you dare, Claire?"

Upon hearing this.

Claire Green cast a lazy glance at him, "Provocation? Fine."

As soon as her words fell, Andrew James grinned widely.

Then, the next second.

The girl continued with a meaningful look, "Since it’s a competition, isn’t it dull without a bet?"

Andrew instantly understood and was just about to agree when he suddenly recalled the last time she raced with Michael Goodman.

Same tactic, different race.

Damn, so Claire’s been waiting for this all along.

Suddenly, Andrew hesitated; it’s not that he couldn’t afford to lose a bet, but winning without the nerve to take something from Claire wasn’t ideal either.

This was a loss no matter how he looked at it.

"Or maybe..."

"Let’s go with what Claire says."

Owen Lawrence saw his expression and knew what he was considering, so he interrupted just as Andrew was about to speak.

He hooked an arm around Andrew’s neck, speaking earnestly, "It’s rare for Claire to join us, she ought to take something back as a souvenir, so what are you betting?"

Damn it, don’t think I don’t know you’re gloating.

Andrew shot him a look, brushed Owen’s arm off his neck, and said, "Claire, if you win, I’ll give you one of my office buildings."

That’s like having a pillow handed to you when you’re already sleepy.

Claire’s eyes gleamed with a slight smile, "Alright, if you win, you can set the terms."

Once her words fell.

The spectators, John Sinclair and the others, immediately began to make a fuss.

"Andrew, this is your chance to gain something from Claire."

"Man, any terms you want, what are you waiting for, hurry and start!"

"This kind of opportunity only comes once, Andrew, we have faith in you."

Hearing each of them chiming in, Mason Quinn sighed, rubbing his chin.

"Still too young."

In his experience with Claire Green, she never did anything she wasn’t sure of, just like when she led Class Six to success.

Before that, who could guarantee teaching a group in such a short time, yet she did it.

George Xyler heard his muttering and chuckled softly, "This will be good, it’ll teach them a lesson."

Their conversation reached Julian Sia’s ears, and his serene eyes were now softened as he watched the girl with a doting look.

"It’s a deal, Claire."

Andrew swiftly mounted his horse, his movements crisp and neat.

Claire Green smiled mysteriously, casually choosing a white horse and slowly climbing on.

Witnessing her mounting the horse, Andrew’s smile grew even wider, convinced now that Claire didn’t know how to ride, so he was sure to win.

Yet Julian Sia, who had seen it all, simply smiled, his eyes filled with amusement.

Claire’s act of playing dumb was quite convincing.

...

"Race starts now."

With Sebastian Winn’s shout, the red and white horses shot out neck and neck.

In no time, Andrew James had left Claire Green far behind, and he frequently glanced back, worried she’d fall off her horse.

The gap widened, and Claire Green wasn’t in a hurry, riding leisurely behind, as if she were out on a country stroll.

Right then.

Andrew, feeling victory was assured, turned back to taunt her.

"Claire, you can’t keep up."

Claire Green heard this, and a mischievous smile slowly spread across her face, her eyes betraying a roguish air.

Questioning her abilities?

Suddenly, her demeanour shifted from relaxed as she galloped her horse forward at full speed.

Seeing the sudden turn of events, Andrew didn’t hesitate to speed up as well.

But horses have their own emotions, and seeing Claire’s white horse, the one Andrew chose wouldn’t budge.

No matter what he did, it wouldn’t move.

It wasn’t until the white horse passed by them that it finally started moving.

It didn’t even wait for Andrew to speak, automatically trotting after, its eyes even seemed to light up.

The final result was evident.

Claire Green leaned against her horse, teasingly, "Andrew, your choice in horses is lacking."

Andrew glanced at his horse, seeing it staring fixatedly at Claire’s horse, unable to look anymore.

How could he have known it would get amorous halfway through?

"Claire, this round doesn’t count, let’s go again."

"Why wouldn’t it count? Andrew, you’ve got some luck, picking a horse in mating season."

Daniel Clarke didn’t hide his glee, laughing with a taunting smile.

"Get lost." Andrew pushed him away irritably.

Suddenly.

Claire Green chuckled lazily, "Too bad, mine’s male, can’t fix your affection problem."

What do you mean my affection problem, it’s obviously my horse that’s in love.

Claire’s phrasing leaves much to be desired!

Andrew grumbled inwardly, then glared at his horse, "Did you hear that, you’re the same gender, not meant to be, give it up!"

"Hahaha, you’ll be the death of me laughing."

"You picked poorly, why make it the horse’s problem."
