Wang Hu had no idea a colossal disaster was hurtling towards him. He and his two lackeys were having a blast at a club with some young models.
“Brother Hu, the project you’ve taken on recently is huge. The money is just pouring into your pockets.”
One of his lackeys was flattering him.
“It’s nothing, really. As long as you brothers work hard, I won’t shortchange you during the New Year.”
Wang Hu squeezed the backside of the young model next to him as he spoke.
“That’s for sure. Following Brother Hu, we’ll always have plenty to eat.”
Another lackey downed a drink and loudly addressed the two models.
“If you two take good care of Brother Hu today, I’ll give each of you a big red envelope.”
“Brother Hu, you must have a few more drinks.”
A young model in a qipao brought a wine glass to Wang Hu’s lips, cooing softly.
“Drink, drink, drink.”
Wang Hu drank the wine offered to his mouth, slurring his words.
“Don’t drink too much. If you drink too much, how am I supposed to please the little sister later?”
He said, reaching into the slit of her qipao as he spoke.
“Brother Hu, you’re so naughty.”
The girl in the qipao leaned against Wang Hu, saying in a sweet voice.
“Let Brother Hu take you to the room and dote on you.”
Wang Hu swayed as he stood up, his hand on the qipao-clad girl’s waist.
Just then, Wang Hu’s phone rang.
He glanced at the number, didn’t recognize it, and hung up directly.
But the other party seemed determined to provoke him, calling relentlessly.
“Who the hell are you, messing with my good time?”
He answered the phone and yelled.
“Son, run fast, our family is in big trouble.”
It was his father’s voice.
“Dad, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me.”
Wang Hu froze.
“Someone’s targeting us. Get out now, leave the country tonight, and don’t come back. My phone is being tapped; this is my backup number.”
“My company, my money, they’re all still in the country. How can I live abroad?”
“Didn’t I tell you to transfer some of it out? That’s enough for you. Hurry and go. Remember, don’t call me after you leave. Only come back when I call you.”
Wang Hu wanted to ask why.
But the other party had already hung up.
He stared blankly at the phone in his hand, knowing he was finished.
What wine and young models?
What company and money?
All of it would be irrelevant to him from now on. Although he had transferred tens of millions, his current life abroad couldn’t compare.
“Brother Hu, what’s wrong?”
The lackey asked.
“Da Gou, drive me back to the company for a moment.”
Wang Hu snapped out of his daze. He knew he couldn’t say anything now.
“We were having a good time, what happened?”
“Don’t ask. Da Shan, go to the bank and withdraw the money. The password is eight eights. Try a few different branches to see if you can withdraw it all. Get as much as you can, and then wait for me at the company entrance.”
Wang Hu pulled out a bank card and handed it to another lackey.
“Brother Hu, what’s going on?”
“Don’t ask so many questions. Remember, wait for me at the company entrance, don’t go back inside.”
Wang Hu reiterated.
“Da Gou, let’s go.”
The two young models weren’t happy and grabbed Wang Hu, saying, “Brother Hu, you haven’t given us the red envelopes the little brother promised.”
“That won’t be missed. I’ll give it to you when I get back.”
Wang Hu said, lightly patting the qipao-clad girl’s backside.
“The company has an urgent matter. I’m sending your little brother to get some money to deal with it.”
He dared not be entangled by these people. If someone reported them to the police, he wouldn’t even have a place to cry.
