In the morning, Li Minyu organized Liu Yiyi's belongings but found nothing.
“Sister-in-law, my brother’s items are mostly just documents. Let’s not bother with them and just hand them over to his company,” Guo Xuyang said as he entered Liu Yiyi’s room.
“See if there’s anything useful on these computers,” Li Minyu pointed to the computers on Liu Yiyi’s desk.
“I’ll open them up and take a look. If not, I’ll copy everything and give the rest to Director Zhao. I wonder if Director Zhao will agree?” Guo Xuyang said.
“He probably will. This computer is public property, just temporarily used by Brother Liu. If there are no important files, just format it,” Li Minyu replied.
“Let’s leave them with something to think about,” Guo Xuyang opened the computer. The internet speed was quite fast. He extended his senses into the computer’s frequencies and soon found the evidence and list Liu Yiyi’s spirit had mentioned. He then made two backups and put them in his pocket, though in reality, he had secretly stored them in his mind.
“There’s nothing in the computer; I’ve already formatted it,” Guo Xuyang said, standing up and looking at Li Minyu.
“If there’s nothing, then never mind. Let’s go to the hospital to see Brother Liu again and find a place for cremation. We can just bring the ashes back,” Li Minyu said.
“Let’s not take the ashes back. Besides, cremation isn’t customary here. Isn’t any patch of earth good enough for burial? We’ve come and seen my brother. How about we leave him whole and find a cemetery to bury him here?” Guo Xuyang suggested. He had a hidden agenda. After all, Liu Yiyi was not his biological brother. Li Minyu was pregnant, and carrying ashes back might be detrimental to the baby. He didn’t know Li Minyu’s true thoughts, but he certainly didn’t want his wife to carry someone else’s ashes. Moreover, it was a mission, and he didn't want to.
“You have a point. How about this, ask Xiao Lu to help us find a cemetery for Brother Liu quickly. I’ll mail these sorted belongings back. It’ll be more convenient for us when we return,” Li Minyu said.
“Alright, I’ll contact Xiao Lu right away.” Guo Xuyang dialed Xiao Lu’s number.
At this moment, Xiao Lu was reporting his work in Director Zhao Qingchun’s office.
“Mr. Liu, hello,” he said, quickly answering Guo Xuyang’s call.
“Xiao Lu, you’re familiar with this area. Help me find a public cemetery; we need it this afternoon,” Guo Xuyang’s voice came through.
“What do you mean?”
“I want to bury my brother here, leave him whole.”
“That’s easy. I’ll contact them right away. When would you like to use it?”
“The sooner the better. It would be even better if we can bury him this afternoon,” Guo Xuyang said.
“In that case, I’ll report this to Director Zhao. We’ll prepare a grand funeral for Mr. Liu this afternoon,” Xiao Lu said.
“No need. Keep it simple. We have an old saying: ‘Rest in peace once buried.’ The sooner he’s buried, the sooner everyone can be at ease. It’s better to avoid being coveted by some people,” Guo Xuyang replied.
“Understood, Mr. Liu. I’ll go contact them now and will call you directly to report once I’ve made the arrangements,” Xiao Lu said.
“Okay. I’ll await your news.” Guo Xuyang said. He knew these people had extensive connections, and it was better to rely on someone like Xiao Lu than anyone else. Someone like Guo Xuyang, who was new to this country, would be like a headless fly trying to find help anywhere. Xiao Lu, on the other hand, knew this place like the back of his hand. There was no point in struggling to find it himself when a ready solution was available; that wasn’t Guo Xuyang’s style.
