He woke up groggily, not feeling refreshed but an unspeakable fatigue.
He looked at his watch, it was already six-thirty. He picked up his phone and called Jiang Qixin.
“Mr. Jiang, are you awake?”
“Huh? What time is it? Hmm. Let me sleep a bit longer, I’m a bit tired.”
“Um, Mr. Jiang, can I take these two girls with me?”
“Are you serious? No problem. If you want to take them, no one will stop you. I’m going back to sleep, don’t disturb me.”
Guo Xuyang hung up the phone and looked at the two women in front of him, who were looking at him expectantly.

Xiao Yu glanced at the two women in server uniforms beside Guo Xuyang, pulled him aside, and whispered, “I’m here to investigate a case. I’m using an alias at this hotel, my name is Guo Ziyi now.”
Guo Xuyang gave Xiao Yu a strange look and repeated, “Guo Ziyi? Why would you choose such a name?”
“It’s for a mission. What are you up to?” he said, glancing again at the two servers not far from them. “What’s the deal with those two?”
When she had pulled Guo Xuyang aside, the two girls had clearly followed, although they were at a distance.
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you when I get back. I need to take these two out first. Which room are you in? I’ll come find you when I get back.”
“2103. Call me when you’re back.”
“Alright. You go up first.” Guo Xuyang said, heading towards the lobby.
Xu Liping was sitting idly in a corner seat in the lobby. She saw Guo Xuyang approaching with two servers.
“Mr. Guo, what are your instructions?” she asked, looking at the two servers.
“There’s a slight complication. Take these two out and buy them some clothes and phones. They don’t have IDs, so use your ID to get them registered. After that, find them a place to stay, and I’ll join you after I’ve handled things here,” Guo Xuyang said.
“No problem, Mr. Guo. I’ll handle this. What are your names, young ladies?” Xu Liping asked.
The girl with the melon-seed face said, “My name is Xiaoyu.”
The other plump girl said, “My name is Xiaohong.”
“Xiaoyu, Xiaohong, come with me. Let’s go shopping for clothes,” Xu Liping said, about to lead them out.
“Wait a moment, I’ll transfer three million to you. After you’ve gotten them their phones, transfer one million to each of them. You can use the rest to buy them clothes. Remember, find a place to stay after you leave, and I’ll come find you.” Guo Xuyang reiterated.
“Don’t worry, I’ll handle this perfectly.”
Xu Liping and the two girls were stopped before they could leave the hotel.
“I’m sorry, ladies, they cannot leave,” a team leader-like person blocked them at the hotel entrance.
“Why can’t they leave? Are you restricting their personal freedom?” Xu Liping, unaware of the hotel’s situation, retorted loudly.
“I apologize, this is our hotel’s policy. During working hours, service staff are not allowed to leave the hotel,” the team leader’s words were impeccable.
Xu Liping hadn’t expected to be stopped before she could even carry out the task Guo Xuyang had just assigned her.
“Whose policy is this? Can’t they even leave if there’s a family emergency?” Xu Liping was getting a bit angry.
She was afraid of being deemed incompetent by Guo Xuyang.
This was the first task she had undertaken since taking up her position. If something as simple as buying clothes couldn’t be handled, she didn’t know how Guo Xuyang would perceive her.
“I apologize, this is our hotel’s policy. You two hurry back, or I’ll call security.” The team leader, seeing that persuasion was futile, turned to Xiaoyu and Xiaohong.
Upon hearing that security would be called, Xiaoyu and Xiaohong trembled with fear.
They tugged at Xu Liping’s hand and said, “Sister, please call Mr. Guo quickly. We can’t be taken away by security.”
Xu Liping was puzzled, wondering why the two girls would tremble at the mention of security.
Were the hotel security guards that intimidating?
She picked up her phone and dialed Guo Xuyang.
“Mr. Guo, the hotel won’t let these two girls go. What should we do?”
“Bring them up. Room 2103. I’ll be waiting for you here.”
“Let’s go, we’re not going out anymore. We’re going upstairs.” Xu Liping hung up the phone, called the two girls, and headed directly for the elevator.
“What case are you investigating? You’re being so mysterious,” Guo Xuyang was chatting with Xiao Yu in room 2103.
“Long Linping confessed that most of the girls they trafficked were sent to this hotel. I came ahead to scout the location. I never expected to run into you, and almost blew my cover.”
