“With just you?”
Su Luo chuckled and patted Li Tianjue’s shoulder. “Senior Brother, go ahead and take them down!”
Li Tianjue was speechless. Had this girl gotten used to ordering him around?
But he didn’t say much, unleashing a palm strike towards the leader. An overwhelming force surged forward, causing the black-faced man in his thirties to show a slight surprise. He flipped to the ground, his weapon already flying out.
The ringed gear shot out sparks, exploding like fireworks.
Li Tianjue didn’t retreat an inch and struck out with another palm.
Seeing the flying ring being repelled by the opponent’s palm wind, the black-faced man grabbed it just as a powerful force struck, forcing him back two steps. His expression shifted slightly, and he shouted, his flying ring suddenly expanding, doubling in size, becoming a flaming wheel spewing roaring flames.
“You refuse a toast only to be punished with a drink. Then die!”
He sneered and, with a wave of his hand, sent the flaming wheel towards the three of them.
Scorching hot, it felt as if it could melt a person!
The flames, of an unknown special substance, displayed a strange green hue.
The air filled with a dangerous aura as it spun and turned like lightning. Wherever it passed, even the air distorted. Just as the green flames were about to engulf Li Tianjue, he still didn’t dodge. He reached out and made a gesture in the air before him.
A circle was drawn with the spiritual light from his fingertip, and a mirror, rippling, materialized and suspended before him.
The flaming wheel entered the mirror and, the next moment, reversed its direction, charging back towards the black-faced man.
Caught off guard, several nearby attackers were directly scorched by the flames, letting out screams. Their flesh quickly turned black, consumed by the unusually high temperature, turning them to charcoal. The flames then spread throughout their bodies, and they died in an instant, four or five of them.
The rest hastily dodged, none of them expecting their leader’s flaming wheel to fly back.
“Mirroring! You are Li Tianjue!?”
The black-faced man was greatly astonished. He fumbled to catch his flaming wheel, his face changing drastically.
Over the years, Li Tianjue had killed countless disciples of the Demonic Sect, already becoming renowned. His ‘Mirror Flower Water Moon’ secret technique was also well-known. Once unleashed, it was incredibly mysterious, and almost no one could withstand it.
Li Tianjue stood with his hands behind his back and said indifferently, “Who are you?”
The black-faced man paused briefly, then gnashed his teeth in a ferocious manner. “I am Hong Yan, one of the Four Envoys under the Flame Demon Lord! Li Tianjue, I know you are powerful, but this Hell Scroll is not something you can afford to covet. It would be best if you handed it over.”
“Liar! You’re so dark, why are you called Hong Yan? And the fire from the flaming wheel earlier was greenish, so you should be called Green Flame instead,” Su Luo said with a grin, poking her head out from behind Li Tianjue to tease him.
“You…” Hong Yan glared at Su Luo.
Li Tianjue remained unfazed, as if the Flame Demon Lord was as insignificant as a cat or dog. Instead, he found Hong Yan somewhat interesting and mused, “Hong Yan? I recall you are ranked seventy-second on the bounty list. Your bounty was… what was it again?”
Su Luo reminded him, “Two and a half million, Senior Brother!”
“Two and a half million. That’s passable then.”
As soon as the words fell, Li Tianjue attacked.
A white light shot from his hand. No one could see how his sword appeared. Killing intent filled the air, crisscrossing like a storm, as if it would tear him to shreds.
Hong Yan was stunned. He hadn’t expected Li Tianjue to attack without a word.
He hastily defended himself but was forced to retreat step by step. It was then he realized how formidable this killer that the Demonic Sect feared truly was. He grabbed a few of his subordinates as shields, hurling them at Li Tianjue, and fled as fast as he could.
Li Tianjue casually waved his hand, and several Demonic Sect disciples were flung away by the ferocious energy. He calmly stood his ground and aimed at a point ahead.
Whoosh – Boom!
Hong Yan’s body trembled violently. He fell from mid-air, a bloody hole appearing in his chest, blood gushing like a spring.
The remaining Demonic Sect disciples in the alley turned cold. They never expected their leader to be defeated so quickly. With cries of alarm, they scattered like startled birds, leaping onto the wall and fleeing in different directions.
“Senior Brother is amazing!” Su Luo applauded with a smile.
It was good to follow a master, as she didn’t have to exert herself.
Li Tianjue strode forward, about to act, when Hong Yan spat out several mouthfuls of blood and struggled to beg for mercy. “Don’t, don’t kill me… I know a secret. If you let me go…”
Su Luo walked forward and asked, “What secret? Tell us first.”
“Alright, but once I’ve told you, you have to let me go…” Hong Yan spat out another mouthful of blood, clearly severely injured.
He tremblingly reached into his storage ring, took out a pill, and consumed it, regaining some strength before speaking with difficulty. “Recently, some people from the Demonic Sect plan to attack Jade Void City, creating chaos and weakening the forces of the righteous path. Although I don’t know the specifics of their plan, it is true.”
Li Tianjue frowned. “Where did you hear this information?”
Hong Yan coughed a few times and said, “The mastermind is most likely Poison Toad King. Although he is one of the eight envoys under our master, just like our leader, he has a personal feud with our leader. If Young Master Li can foil his plan and get him punished by the master, I would be happy to help.”
Poison Toad King again!
Li Tianjue pondered. Su Luo asked again, “Anything else?”
Hong Yan shook his head. “Nothing else. This is all I know. Can you let me go now?”
Su Luo’s lips curled into a smile as she asked, “Senior Brother, do you believe him?”
Li Tianjue said indifferently, “The people of the Demonic Sect are always cunning. Who knows if this is a deliberate deception?”
“I don’t believe him either,” Su Luo pouted.
Hong Yan’s expression changed. He quickly said, “My lords, I am telling the truth. If you don’t believe me, you can investigate…”
Before he could finish, his pupils dilated violently as his neck was severed. Blood gushed out, and his head rolled to the corner of the wall, his eyes wide open in eternal disbelief.
Li Tianjue looked at Su Luo. “You’re quite quick to act. I was going to do it myself.”
Su Luo put away her sword. “If we didn’t hurry, someone might have rescued him. Two and a half million would have been lost.”
Li Tianjue picked up the severed head from the ground, wrapped it in a white cloth, and placed it in his storage ring. He then cleaned the flaming wheel weapon and put it away. Finally, he removed Hong Yan’s storage ring and tossed it to Su Luo.
All these actions, he performed with elegant ease, as if he were very accustomed to them.
Zhan Li watched the entire scene, stunned.
Senior Brother and Junior Sister were quite different from his impressions…
Without lingering any longer, Su Luo and the other two prepared to return to Qingxu Heaven first.
Passing by the trading house, Li Tianjue went inside. When he emerged, he already had five million more on him.
…
Purple Bamboo Residence.
Su Luo took out the scroll and placed it on the table.
Zhan Li’s pupils constricted. He reached out his hand, then withdrew it, restraining himself.
“Fourth Brother, aren’t you going to tell us something?” Su Luo asked him, a half-smile on her face.
“…”
Zhan Li remained silent for a long time. Seemingly unable to resist the allure of the scroll, he finally extended his hand and unrolled the pitch-black painting. Su Luo and Li Tianjue saw the blood-red eye in the center once more.
He touched the canvas with his hand, inch by inch, his movements very slow, as if afraid of accidentally damaging it.
The scroll emitted a faint fluctuation. The canvas was of an unknown material, showing no signs of damage. This strange depiction, accompanied by decades of bizarre rumors, was indeed somewhat unsettling, making one feel it was an object of ill omen.
“This painting is not called the Hell Scroll. It is called… the Myriad Beasts Boundless Scroll.”
