Among the employees, many had not yet met Ye Tian, and a significant number were unaware of his identity. After all, the current shareholders were Lin Ziyi, Ye Shaodong, and the Han family faction, with Yang Shoucheng holding only some dry stock.
Lin Ziyi introduced Ye Tian to everyone as the company's chief drug R&D scientist, as well as her boyfriend. The R&D progress within Baozhi Company was highly confidential. Consequently, outsiders, including the vast majority of company personnel, were unaware that Ye Tian was the developer of their core products.
Su Hongyan also arrived, accompanied by some members of her research team. Therefore, after Lin Ziyi introduced Ye Tian's identity, someone immediately remarked, "Ms. Su is truly remarkable, cultivating a boyfriend for our boss."
Ye Tian chuckled and clinked glasses with several of the highly sought-after talents they had recruited. Most of these individuals did not drink much, so they substituted tea for alcohol. Among them was a man in his early twenties, about 1.7 meters tall and very slender. He had been engrossed in his laptop until Ye Tian approached to toast him. He merely raised his teacup and touched Ye Tian's.
The people around were accustomed to this. He was a research fanatic, incapable of pulling himself away once immersed in his work.
Su Hongyan approached and explained, "Mr. Ye, this is a new recruit for our company, Mr. Xu Jingwen, the world's foremost talent in molecular therapy research. Mr. Xu entered university at eleven, earned his doctorate at fifteen, and became a professor at a top North American university at seventeen. Mr. Xu's research achievements have been nominated for global scientific awards multiple times."
Ye Tian asked, "Molecular therapy, what kind of diseases can it treat?"
Su Hongyan replied, "For example, nerve repair. Mr. Xu is currently researching a repair protein that can mend damaged nerves. There's also viral therapy, which involves studying viral replication mechanisms and then using molecular drugs to disrupt their replication pathways; or utilizing molecular polymers that directly bind with viruses, forming substances that the body can absorb, thereby eradicating the viruses completely."
Ye Tian inquired, "Have these research projects yielded any results?"
Su Hongyan stated, "Currently, they are still in the theoretical stage. Even if everything goes smoothly, it will take five to ten years to see results. Of course, there's a greater possibility that this path might ultimately prove unfeasible. Drug development is like that; the initial investment is enormous, and there's no guarantee of a return."
Ye Tian responded, "That's alright. Our company does not consider R&D costs. As long as it contributes to enhancing the company's competitiveness, no amount of investment is too much."
As if stirred by Ye Tian's words, Mr. Xu suddenly came back to his senses. He stood up and said with a smile, "You are absolutely right. Without preliminary research, there can be no subsequent harvest. I toast you!"
Ye Tian went around toasting with tea and finally returned to the table where Lin Ziyi and Su Hongyan were seated.
"Hongyan, how is the research on cancer drugs progressing?"
Su Hongyan reported, "We have commenced Phase II clinical trials. Currently, the results are quite promising, with a cure rate exceeding eighty-three percent. Among the remaining patients, thirteen point five percent have had their cancer cells controlled, while three point five percent of patients have shown only slight improvement or no improvement."
Ye Tian mused, "Each person's constitution is different. However, cancer treatment ultimately relies on the body's immunity. Therefore, I am considering pairing a drug that enhances the body's immunity for all patients. This drug could be marketed as a health supplement."
Su Hongyan's beautiful eyes lit up. "Mr. Ye, when will this drug be available?"
Ye Tian replied, "My tasks here are concluded. After the team-building event, I will return with you, and we will strive to develop this drug within a week."
Zhang Zhihui and his wife also arrived. Zhang Zhihui was currently managing Ye Tian's finances, focusing on investment and wealth management. His wife, Qian Suxi, after recovering her health, had also joined Baozhi Company, taking charge of human resources. Qian Suxi possessed strong business acumen, and Lin Ziyi held her in high regard.
Zhang Zhihui said, "Boss, I have some work to report."
Ye Tian smiled and replied, "Brother Zhang, you don't need to report. Just provide me with the financial statements every six months."
Zhang Zhihui chuckled, "Boss, financial matters absolutely require regular reporting!"
