Chapter 62 Moving In

Each level of the underground city was interconnected internally but typically separated from each other.

For example, the giant residential pods on the first level had direct access to the five farming pods, three planting pods, and four industrial pods on the same level, but no direct access to the large residential pods on the second level.

Similarly, the research pods on the third level could directly access the medium and small residential pods on the third level, but not the farming, planting, or industrial pods on the first level.

The only exception was the four simulation pods on the second level.

This was because facilities like hospitals, schools, exchanges, and stadiums were public areas, accessible directly from the residential zones on the three levels above, with even bus routes being established.

The three upper levels of the underground city each had at least one direct elevator access to the surface.

However, the fourth level could only be accessed via the elevators on the third level and did not have direct access to the surface. People on the surface could not discover the entrances to the fourth level.

Currently, these access elevators had not yet been constructed.

Tang Li used the elevator from the construction period to directly reach the fourth level.

However, it did not lead directly into the pods but only to the passageways between them.

Once the designed access elevators were installed, this elevator would also be closed.

Tang Li's first group to be brought into the underground city were those who, according to the design, would live with her on the fourth level and had invasive brain-computer interfaces installed in their heads.

This included Lu Wan and the other 30 people rescued in F City, as well as those rescued from D City.

Of course, only a portion of them, over a hundred people, were brought in tonight.

Exiting the elevator led to the central corridor of the fourth level of the underground city.

The corridors of the underground city were highly technological, with metal walls on both sides, LED lights on the ceiling at regular intervals, and directional signs on the walls.

Displays by the roadside also showed data such as the temperature and oxygen concentration in the corridors.

The temperature and oxygen concentration in the underground city were kept constant within the optimal range for humans.

After entering the elevator, Tang Li and the others had been sprayed with a delta particle clearing agent.

Upon reaching the fourth level, everyone took off their protective suits.

"The temperature here is truly comfortable, and the air is so fresh. I no longer have to choose between a constant temperature and difficult breathing!"

Someone exclaimed.

On the surface, the temperatures were extreme during both the extreme heat and extreme cold seasons.

Wearing protective suits allowed for temperature adjustment, but it also somewhat hindered breathing, causing a stuffy sensation.

However, in the underground city, the temperature was constant. After taking off their protective suits, everyone could breathe smoothly without feeling hot or cold.

Tang Li could hardly contain her excitement either.

In both her past life and this one, she had never lived in an underground city, always struggling to survive in the apocalypse.

Now, not only had she entered the underground city, but this was her very own underground city!

Tang Li glanced north.

Beyond three glass doors lay the direction of her villa pod.

However, Tang Li did not rush there but walked south instead.

She said to Lu Wan and the others, "I'll show you where you will be living from now on."

Upon hearing this, Lu Wan and the others followed Tang Li forward.

The end of the corridor led directly into the exchange simulation pod on the fourth level.

Opening the cabin door revealed a spacious plaza.

Looking up, everyone saw a bright blue sky above them, with a gentle breeze occasionally blowing, a stark contrast to the howling cold wind on the surface.

Tang Li led them to see the shopping mall, gym, leisure and entertainment area, and the small hospital within the simulation pod.

The goods in the mall, the equipment in the gym, and the medical supplies in the small hospital had all been replicated and prepared by Tang Li. They only needed to use them by paying with points according to the regulations.

These individuals with invasive brain-computer interfaces installed in their heads could download various knowledge and skills, thus possessing all sorts of talents, capable of forming an independent small society.

This was also why Tang Li felt confident in designing a separate level for them outside the three upper levels.

After viewing the simulation pod, Tang Li took them to see the research pod, and finally to the residential pods.

"You are the first group to inhabit the underground city, and you will also be the management team for this section. You will distribute the rooms in the three residential pods yourselves."

"Basic living supplies have already been prepared in all rooms of the residential pods, and water and electricity are supplied in sufficient quantities. The underground city is not yet fully complete today, so you can use them freely. There will be no charge tonight!"

Tang Li finally said to Lu Wan and the others.

Tang Li was in a good mood today and impulsively offered a benefit.

Lu Wan and the others were filled with surprises as they toured the facilities and looked forward to their future lives in the underground city.

Upon hearing that water and electricity in their rooms would be free tonight, they couldn't help but cheer.

Seeing this, Tang Li smiled and shook her head, then left.

She also needed to rest.

With the meteorite fall tomorrow, there would be plenty to keep her busy!
