The first light of dawn

Chapter 336 Like When She Was Young

Jiang Nuan was startled to see Elder Wu and Jia Bin, having forgotten about yesterday's events.

It turned out they had come to the Lu family.

Her gaze was sharp, a cool glance sweeping over Elder Wu and Jia Bin. These two had better behave today.

Elder Wu and Jia Bin also wore foul expressions upon seeing Jiang Nuan. Why was this brat here again?

This brat was truly their nemesis; they encountered her everywhere.

Elder Wu's hawk-like gaze fixed on Jiang Nuan. He had been planning to find an opportunity to scheme against her. How had she appeared here again, blocking his path to wealth?

The one leading the way was a tall, distinguished middle-aged man with an ordinary appearance.

Looking at Lu Jinyue, he scoffed, "Jinyue, have you run out of reputable doctors? You actually found such a young girl. Your grandmother is in critical condition; you can't play with her life."

Lu Jinyue glanced at Elder Wu behind him and smiled, "Second Uncle, have you run out of doctors? Why did you find one from Jinshi?"

"Hmph! What do you know, kid? This Elder Wu is a titan in the medical field. Even Nanyang's chairman's life was saved by him. He's a divine doctor in person."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Nuan looked at Elder Wu with a half-smile.

When Elder Wu met Jiang Nuan's knowing gaze, his old face flushed, his eyes darting away, unwilling to meet her eyes.

Lu ChengZai, however, looked at Elder Wu respectfully and said obsequiously, "Elder Wu, please come in!"

Seeing Jiang Nuan at this moment, Elder Wu knew that the situation today would likely not go smoothly. He glanced at Jiang Nuan, then at Lu ChengZai, and the esteemed elder did not forget to put on airs. "Mr. Lu, if Jiang Nuan is to be the one treating her, then we won't go in."

"Ah... Elder Wu, this..."

Lu ChengZai stared sharply at Lu Jinyue and warned, "Lu Jinyue, your grandmother is in critical condition. Don't cause any more trouble."

Lu Jinyue found it somewhat amusing looking at his second uncle. His second uncle had always harbored ill intentions and was jealous of his father. For years, he had openly and secretly tried to seize control of the Lu Group. Unfortunately, this vast Lu Group was built by his father alone. They were all living comfortable lives, getting whatever they wanted, thanks to their father's efforts, yet they were still not satisfied.

They seized any opportunity that arose.

"Second Uncle, are you sure the person you brought can cure Grandma?" Lu Jinyue's sharp gaze swept over Elder Wu. Although he called himself a titan in the medical field,

in front of the renowned Vicky, he was nothing, yet he dared to boast here.

"Isn't that obvious? Kid, don't waste time. Let the young lady behind you leave so as not to delay Elder Wu from saving your grandmother," Lu ChengZai said with a somber expression.

Lu Jinyue's expression also turned grim. "I will not let Elder Wu treat Grandma. He cannot cure her illness. Miss Jiang, Young Master Rong, please come in!"

Lu Jinyue led Rong Yin and Jiang Nuan inside.

Elder Wu and Jia Bin looked on, their angry gazes wishing they could tear Jiang Nuan to pieces.

"Lu Jinyue, what skill can a young brat like her possibly have? Since she dares to disrespect Elder Wu, I think she doesn't want to stay in the medical field." Lu ChengZai watched the backs of Lu Jinyue and the other two with a dark expression.

Rong Yin suddenly turned back, his usually indifferent, piercing peach blossom eyes fixing on Lu ChengZai. "Second Master Lu, Jiang Nuan is my friend Rong Yin's friend. You'd best show her some respect. What skills does she have? She has great skills. Ten Elder Wus couldn't match one Rong Yin." His tone was light, languid, and dismissive, showing no regard for them.

When Elder Wu heard the name Rong Yin, the third young master of the Rong family, the prince of Modu, his face instantly darkened. He had been present at the banquet but hadn't paid attention, thus missing an opportunity to forge a connection. Instead, that brat Jiang Nuan had gained an advantage.

Being on good terms with the third young master of the Rong family and cooperating with his companies could bring him endless wealth and prosperity for life.

Elder Wu's thoughts stirred. He mused that he couldn't ruin his future for the sake of Jiang Nuan. The medicine he had developed for treating rheumatism had excellent efficacy and was very useful; he was preparing to apply for a patent.

"Elder Wu, please, let's go in and take a look. Don't let that young girl delay my mother's condition."

Just then, Lu ChengZai spoke, offering Elder Wu a way to back down gracefully.

In the first-floor hall, Lu Jinyue's parents, Lu ChengSi and Jin Yan, were also present. The couple, a perfect match, stood together, especially Jin Yan, who came from a scholarly family, was gentle and virtuous, with a demeanor like bamboo.

After Lu Jinyue introduced Jiang Nuan, Jin Yan's gaze fell on Jiang Nuan, and she stared blankly for a moment.

Why did this Jiang Nuan resemble her so much when she was young?

"Miss Jiang, have we met somewhere before?" Jin Yan's voice was very gentle, clear, and moving, even carrying a hint of trembling.

Jiang Nuan was slightly startled, then shook her head, her tone neither humble nor arrogant, "Madam, I don't think we have met before."

Lu Jinyue looked at his mother and said, "Mom, I have the same feeling. The first time I met Miss Jiang, I also felt like I had seen her somewhere. I asked her the same question."

Jin Yan was slightly taken aback, then said, "Then it truly is fate."

Lu ChengSi's gaze also fell on Jiang Nuan. She was exceptionally beautiful, her star-like eyes, when looked at, seemed to be enveloped by a sky full of stars. Her face was that of unparalleled beauty, stunning the world!

His heart stirred slightly. She was very much like Yan Yan when she was young.

Jiang Nuan didn't think much of it and said, "Let's go see the old madam first." After seeing the patient, she still had to go to the company with Rong Yin.

Rong Yin, however, had a thoughtful expression, his gaze shifting between Jiang Nuan and Jin Yan several times.

When these two stood together, they looked like mother and daughter, especially their eyes, which seemed to have been cast from the same mold.

Lu ChengSi said, "Miss Jiang, please follow me."

Jiang Nuan then looked at Lu ChengSi. He was a handsome man; even in middle age, his face showed no signs of aging and remained very distinguished.

Although they were brothers, he bore no resemblance to Lu ChengZai from outside, and instead, she found him somewhat familiar.

The group arrived at the old madam's bedroom. The bedroom was spacious, with a bouquet of roses on a table by the window, adding vitality to the room.

The old madam had fallen into a coma and lay quietly on the bed, her eyebrows sparse, her face rounded, but very kind.

Jiang Nuan walked over, sat down, and took her pulse. After a moment, she frowned slightly. It was a cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, and the patient had lost the will to live. A person who wished to die was the most troublesome.

Lu Jinyue looked anxiously at Jiang Nuan. Seeing her withdraw her hand, he asked eagerly, "Miss Jiang, can my grandmother wake up?"
