Chapter 727 Melodramatic Plot

Grace hung up the phone, her eyelids twitching, a premonition of impending doom washing over her.

She felt inexplicably uneasy.

But soon, shaking off her thoughts, she returned to the dining table.

Today's surfing competition had stirred Grace's soul; it was too thrilling, too spectacular. Tens, even hundreds, of people rode the waves, with helicopters, speedboats, and jet skis on standby.

The medical team, observation team, photography team, and global blogger team were all present. At least ten thousand people were at the venue!

When the colossal waves arrived, the earth-shattering spectacle ignited the crowd.

Even hours later, Grace's mind was still replaying the raw, visceral shock of witnessing it firsthand.

It was so beautiful.

So stunning.

It was worth flying halfway across the globe for.

However, her only regret was that she hadn't signed up to participate, hadn't had the chance to personally experience this oceanic feast.

After the event concluded, Grace went into the sea for a while, but having seen the pinnacle of the world, she felt something was missing no matter what she did.

She felt a bit uninspired.

The sun had not yet set when Grace came ashore early.

Dr. Merkel had mentioned a celebration banquet in the evening and invited her to join.

Grace knew some of the extreme sports enthusiasts. The circle wasn't large, and with the high costs involved, the same people always came and went.

But knowing them didn't mean she enjoyed socializing.

Grace was accustomed to being alone and disliked mingling with strangers at banquets, so she declined the invitation.

Thinking of Sister Xin and Miranda filming at Buckingham Palace, she took a car to go there.

Merkel, however, pestered her to join.

He said that as an exchange for showing her around the event, he wanted to accompany her to see the sights.

Grace: "..."

A fair exchange had always been her principle, and she had no reason to refuse.

By the Thames, under the setting sun

Du Ruoxin, Miranda, Grace, and Merkel were gathered at a table, along with two uninvited men – Rong Jingyang and Cristiano.

"What a coincidence. Britain is so big, the Thames is so long, and we run into each other while having dinner. What fate is this?"

"Waiter, can we join tables?"

The identical, unoriginal remarks from the two men lent a somewhat comical air to the atmosphere.

"Hahahaha," Merkel laughed heartily, "What a coincidence, what a coincidence! Come, come, let's join tables!"

Anyone with eyes could see that both men were pursuing Du Ruoxin.

What a show!

It would be a shame not to watch!

Such melodramatic plotlines, usually only found in TV dramas or novels, naturally deserved a good feast for the eyes.

However, Merkel's good mood didn't last long.

As night fell, the autumn wind carried a chill. A water motorcycle approached at a breakneck speed of over 300 miles per hour.

Wherever it passed, it kicked up waves several meters high, submerging the riverbank.

Everyone along the river was drenched.

"Shit!"

"Are they crazy to drive so fast!"

"Rushing to be reborn, or rushing to die!"

...

Curses erupted, from one end of the river to the other. Everyone expressed their displeasure at the rider's arrogant and inconsiderate behavior.

Rong Jingyang and Cristiano, realizing the waves were too high and would splash ashore, immediately stood in front of Du Ruoxin, shielding her from the spray.

Merkel also quickly stood in front of Grace.

At that moment, the three men displayed peak synchronicity, acting in unison with the same speed and purpose.

Miranda, the only one without a protector, was drenched like a drowned rat.

She: "????"

The river water not only soaked her entire body, but the violently flung water whipped against her like a lash, causing immense pain!

*%##@!

Ten thousand words of curses omitted here!

She had finally recovered from her fever, and her spirits had somewhat returned. Was this going to make her relapse?

Miranda was furious.

So much so that when she saw the man appearing like Satan, her brain forgot all danger warnings, and she launched into a barrage of cold sarcasm:
