Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Mo Yinhe Becomes Inhuman Again! 2
"That’s right, Mo Yinhe is the kind of man who doesn’t know how to cherish and be gentle with women. Ever since his Miss Bai passed away, he became dark-hearted and perverted. He doesn’t treat women as human beings at all. Si Mingjing getting involved with him is definitely asking for misery!"
"When choosing a man, you absolutely can’t just look at his power and status. You also have to see if he knows how to cherish a woman. Otherwise, no matter how rich the man is, it’s nothing but a curse."
Many women related to the Lin Family had witnessed the horrifying scene of Mo Yinhe pushing Lin Xiansi off the rooftop.
The sight was too terrifying and left a deep shadow in their romantic young hearts.
Thus, even though countless girls outside their circle wanted to marry Mo Yinhe, they all steered clear of him.
Cherish life and stay safe.
A man who could push a girl from a building without changing his expression—too cold-blooded, too ruthless!
Such men are not suitable to be husbands!
While they were envious of Si Mingjing’s good fortune, they also pitied her, feeling that she had latched onto a man who didn’t consider women human, nothing enviable about it.
But their gazes couldn’t help but follow Mo Yinhe.
Even though the banquet hall was filled with guests and handsome men were everywhere, wherever Mo Yinhe went, he stood out so brightly, like a crane among chickens.
Mo Yinhe went to the long table laden with various delicacies to select food. In the meantime, he gestured to a male waiter and whispered a few words.
He wore a white suit without a tie, the top two buttons of his black shirt undone, revealing his pale, lean collarbone. The Dragon Scale Pendant around his neck gleamed intermittently, exuding an air of dignified grace, yet also a sensuous, untamed allure.
It was truly irresistible!
Si Mingjing sat down. After taking off her high heels, her heels felt slightly more comfortable. She sat in her chair and watched Ye Siyuan being invited to the dance floor; Ye Shen also invited Lin Xia to join them.
At that moment, a handsome man with an air of distinction approached and invited Si Mingjing to dance. "Miss Si, would you care for a dance?"
Si Mingjing hurriedly shook her head. "I’m sorry, my foot hurts."
The man looked down at the slight redness on Si Mingjing’s heel and said with regret, "That’s a real shame. Mrs. Lin is my mother. You cured her, and I’m very grateful. If there’s ever anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask. Here’s my business card."
The man placed the business card on the table next to her seat.
It was a high-end, luxurious black card with gold embossing. Two characters were printed on it: Xi Chen.
Out of politeness and good manners, Xi Chen had come to invite her to dance. After Si Mingjing declined, he didn’t insist, respectfully leaving his business card before attending to other guests.
Mo Yinhe came over with delicious food and wine.
He saw Si Mingjing holding a business card and carefully putting it into her handbag.
Mo Yinhe’s eyes darkened slightly. "Whose card?"
"Xi Chen, CFO of the Lin Group. He said he’s Mrs. Lin’s son, but shouldn’t Mrs. Lin’s son have the surname Lin?"
After placing the food and wine on the table, Mo Yinhe bent one knee and knelt before Si Mingjing.
He lifted her left foot, which was red from chafing, and said, "Xi Chen is the adopted son of my maternal aunt’s husband. He is very fond of Lin Xia and might become my maternal aunt’s son-in-law in the future."
Seeing Mo Yinhe kneeling before her on one knee, Si Mingjing was startled and instinctively drew back her left foot.
Mo Yinhe grasped her slender ankle. "Don’t move."
"What are you doing?"
A lofty, proud man deigning to kneel before her—Si Mingjing was overwhelmed by the unexpected honor.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed several girls looking in their direction, their eyes nearly popping out, as if they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
Those girls were indeed astonished!
So much for him being a man who didn’t know how to cherish women or be tender with them!
The pitying looks they had cast on Si Mingjing were instantaneously replaced with envy, jealousy, and resentment!
"Didn’t your foot get scraped?"
Mo Yinhe asked the waiter for two band-aids.
Carefully and patiently, he applied a band-aid to the heel of her left foot. Once that was done, he did the same for her right.
After tending to both her feet, he rose. The light from the crystal chandelier shone on his broad back, casting a shadow over Si Mingjing’s face. Enveloped in that shadow, she felt a warmth spread through her heart.
Mo Yinhe said, "Put your shoes back on and try walking."
Si Mingjing nodded. "Okay."
Si Mingjing slipped the new high heels back on and took a few steps, her phoenix eyes lifting slightly, a smile playing on her lips.
"It really doesn’t hurt anymore. You know so much."
Mo Yinhe raised his hand, gently patted her head, and then pulled a business card from his inner suit pocket, handing it to her. "Keep this safe."
Si Mingjing stared at his business card, unsure of his intentions. What did she need his business card for? She knew where he lived. She also knew his mobile number. Taking his card seemed superfluous.
But Mo Yinhe insisted on pressing the business card into her hand, his voice authoritative and stubborn. "Put it in your handbag, and cherish it."
Si Mingjing: "..."
Si Mingjing really wanted to roll her eyes. Could this man be jealous? So childish! Just like her Demon King! The mere fact that someone else had given her a business card had clearly irked him. No wonder he’d felt the need to tell her that Xi Chen was fond of Lin Xia.
Si Mingjing looked completely exasperated. "I don’t want it."
"You’re taking it whether you want it or not!"
Mo Yinhe took her handbag from the table, pulled out her wallet, and tucked his business card into the most conspicuous spot before placing the wallet back.
Si Mingjing muttered under her breath, "You’re so childish."
Mo Yinhe didn’t respond, just watched her silently.
His gaze was gentle yet carried the immense pressure of a superior. Though he wasn’t angry, it felt as if Mount Tai was pressing down on her. It was like a teacher looking at a primary school student caught daydreaming in class.
Feeling the pressure, Si Mingjing averted her gaze. Forget it. If he wanted to put it there, then let him.
"The Lin Xia that Xi Chen likes, is she the one who was dancing with Ye Shen?"
"Yes, that’s her. Do you want to dance?"
"No, I’m hungry."
Si Mingjing sat and ate. Mo Yinhe sat beside her, keeping her company.
After Ye Siyuan finished one dance, others invited her for more. She was enchanting, and many single men wanted to pursue her.
Mo Yinhe, while eating, watched the men eyeing his sister. He signaled with a gesture, and Fengjue came over.
"Drag out everyone who invited Si Yuan to dance, and beat them all."
Si Mingjing, sitting beside him: "..."
"Is this how you act as a brother? An event like this is perfect for Si Yuan to meet more men. She’s been wanting to find someone; don’t ruin her romantic prospects."
Mo Yinhe, however, refused to listen. He continued to eat elegantly, his face darkening, his eyes full of disdain.
"None of them are worthy of Si Yuan."
If they were dragged out and couldn’t even defeat his guard, it would only prove their skills were too poor, making them even less worthy of his sister!
