359: Chapter 359: Want to Die?
It’s Not That Easy!
“Hmm, not good, danger!” Just after tossing those three hooligans into the lake, Tangyu’s mind suddenly tensed.
He quickly turned around, only to find a dark gun muzzle pointed at him.
Not only that, but there was also an additional figure beside Lin Feifei, holding a gun to her head.
Lin Feifei’s face had turned pale, with a look of fright, but more than that, she was worried about Tangyu.
Confronting these two gun-wielding assassins, Tangyu’s gaze also instantly turned icy cold.
He had been too careless and preoccupied with teaching those thugs a lesson to realize that there were two assassins hidden in the shadows.
These assassins were quite cunning, using the thugs as cover to launch their attack while Tangyu was distracted.
It was clear that the assassins had been following him and Lin Feifei all along, simply choosing this moment to strike.
“Feifei, don’t be afraid, I’m here, nothing will happen,” Tangyu reassured Lin Feifei, his voice tinged with coldness, a glint of murderous intent flashing in his eyes.
“Mhm, I’m not scared, don’t worry about me—they wouldn’t dare to kill me,” Lin Feifei said.
“Hmph, at this point, stop showing off your love for each other.
Beautiful lady, don’t be too confident.
Even though you are beautiful, that doesn’t mean we won’t kill you, nor does it mean we dare not kill you.
In our line of work, we only recognize money, not people.
Your background or status means nothing to us.
So, stop scheming; today, you both will bite the dust,” the assassin behind Lin Feifei said with a cold sneer, his eyes gleaming with malice as he appraisingly swept over Tangyu and Lin Feifei, a hint of greed flickering in his eyes for Lin Feifei.
The other assassin was even colder, glancing at the man and saying, “Don’t get any ideas.
The mission is what matters.”
“Heh, don’t worry, I’m just looking.
I know what’s important,” the assassin replied.
“Alright, I’d like you to come with me.
You won’t have a problem with that, will you?” the assassin approached Tangyu and said coldly.
Tangyu raised his hands in surrender and said, “Do I look like I have a problem?
Who are you guys?”
“Hmph, you’d better not ask questions you shouldn’t.
If you want to know who wants to see you, just come with us, and you’ll find out soon enough.
I believe you’re a smart man and know what to do,” the assassin retorted with a cold snort.
“Alright, I’ll go with you.
No problem.
But please, let her go; she’s innocent,” Tangyu said.
“Hmph.” The assassin got angry and swung his hand at Tangyu.
Tangyu also grew enraged and, seizing the opportunity, advanced instead of retreating and confronted the assassin head-on.
At the same time, he opened his mouth, and the Flame Demon Scorpion King shot out like lightning towards the assassin holding Lin Feifei.
When the assassin saw Tangyu resisting, he was about to use Lin Feifei as leverage, but suddenly felt a piercing sensation from his neck.
It quickly turned into an agonizing burning pain throughout his body, and soon his head tilted, and he fell to the ground.
Being bitten three times by the Flame Demon Scorpion King would be a death sentence even for an Immortal; the assassin was dead beyond any doubt.
“Bang!”
The assassin who had intended to punch Tangyu had not expected him to fight back.
Tangyu grabbed the hand holding the gun while his other fist slammed into the assassin’s face.
A mist of saliva sprayed out, and the assassin’s face immediately swelled red.
When Tangyu struck, he was resolutely forceful.
The assassin tried to fire his gun, but found his wrist was gripped so firmly he couldn’t summon any strength.
“Hmph, courting death!” The assassin bellowed in fury and lunged at Tangyu.
Another knife suddenly appeared in his free hand, which he thrust fiercely at Tangyu.
“The one dying is you,” Tangyu roared back.
His hand shot out like lightning to grab the assassin’s wrist, then twisted violently, aiming to snap the assassin’s wrist.
Sensing the danger, the assassin tensed up, his body erupting in strength as he struggled desperately.
But Tangyu, fueled by anger, unleashed a powerful twist that resulted in a chilling ‘crack’ of breaking bone.
One could see the assassin’s left wrist, twisted so gruesomely that it was hard to look at.
Lin Feifei, watching this brutally forceful scene, grew even paler, her fingers digging into her flesh.
This was her first time witnessing such a sight.
At this moment, Tangyu seemed utterly transformed.
However, she held no trace of fear towards Tangyu.
Even if Tangyu turned into a demon, she would still love him.
“Crack!”
Another sound of breaking bones terrorized the atmosphere.
The assassin’s other wrist was also brutally snapped.
With both arms gruesomely broken, the assassin’s face was white with pain, his eyes aflame with intense murderous intent.
Staring fixedly at Tangyu, the muscles around his mouth twitched violently.
He had always been the one to determine life and death for others; when had it ever been someone else’s turn to control his destiny?
He didn’t look back but knew his partner had met with trouble; otherwise, his partner would have helped him.
They took money to kill people and did not pay much attention to who Tangyu was.
Only now did they realize that this mission was beyond their capabilities.
This time, they had met their match, and the price was their lives.
Damn it.
Being an assassin meant being ready to die at any moment.
Fate was always clenched in one’s own hand.
Tangyu swept his foot, knocking the assassin to the ground, and heavily stepped on his chest.
With both his hands broken, the assassin had lost all ability to resist, left utterly at the mercy of his captor.
“If I ask who sent you, you would definitely not tell me, right?” Tangyu looked at the assassin and said indifferently.
“Hmph, why ask when you already know?” The assassin sneered.
“Bang!”
Tangyu’s foot slammed down on the assassin’s wrist where the bones were already broken, causing him excruciating pain that seemed to tear his mouth apart.
His teeth clashed against each other from the force with which he tried to suppress his screams of agony.
“Impressive perseverance, but I particularly enjoy tormenting people like you with a bit of spine.
It’s no fun if they give in after a couple of pains.
A real challenge makes things interesting, doesn’t it?” Tangyu watched the assassin like a demon, his eyes filled with amusement.
The assassin’s mouth twitched, and he roared, “Every time we undertake a mission, we are prepared to die.
Kill me if you want; trying to pry anything from me is futile.
This pain is nothing, heh heh, if you have the guts, just kill me.”
Tangyu shook his head, “Killing you would be letting you off too easily.
Death is not so easy to come by.
Whatever I want to know, I will find out.
I don’t care how tough you claim to be; if I want you to talk, you will talk.
You may not fear death, but that doesn’t mean you don’t fear pain.
Don’t look at me like that, and believe my words for my methods are certainly no worse than those who specialize in brutal interrogations.
As long as you’re not a ghost, I can definitely make you talk.
You want to see your companion?
He’s already dead.
Want to know how he died?”
The look in the assassin’s eyes changed drastically when he faced Tangyu; he finally realized he was dealing with a devil.
He turned his head to the spot where his companion lay, and indeed, as he had suspected, his companion had died, and the death was exceptionally brutal.
With a gesture from Tangyu, the Flame Demon Scorpion King flew into his palm, and he presented it in front of the assassin, “Your companion died by its bite.
Its venom can kill you in three seconds, just like your comrade.
Of course, if I let it bite you once, you’ll suffer excruciating pain for a full twenty-four hours before dying.
During that time, every moment will be as if your heart is being eaten by ten thousand ants and your body slashed by thousands of knives.
You will experience the utmost suffering of the human realm for twenty-four hours before slowly dying.
You seem smart, I believe you know I’m telling the truth.
Would you like to try it?”
Tangyu smiled, but it was a smile reminiscent of death.
The assassin’s mouth convulsed violently; he wasn’t afraid of death.
To put it precisely, accepting death upon mission failure was something he understood on his first day as an assassin.
Are there really that many people in the world who truly aren’t afraid of dying?
Assassins are human too, naturally, they don’t wish for death.
But failure meant death, and this consciousness had sunk deep into his being, becoming imprinted within.
“Kill me, I won’t talk,” the assassin roared furiously.
“Rest assured, I will kill you, just not now.
Don’t assassins always claim to prefer a fate worse than death?
Good and evil will be reciprocated eventually, what goes around comes around.
So, I’ll let you taste what living is worse than dying feels like.
But, I’ll ask you once more, are you sure you won’t tell me who’s behind this?
You’re bound to die anyway, who would care about the words of a dead man?
Does the person behind this truly deserve your protection?
Speak now, and I can grant you a quick death.
This is your only chance, think it over before you answer,” Tangyu said.
The murderer’s eyes shimmered with an unusual light, and after a long while, he bit his teeth and said, “If I speak, you’ll kill me immediately, right?”
“Yes, I’ll kill you, you can be sure of that,” Tangyu replied, his lips curling up slightly revealing a sly grin that went unnoticed.
“Fine, it was Cai Long who sent us to kill you.
We are just the first part of the plan; there are more contingencies to follow,” the assassin said.
Tangyu’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he sneered internally, “Cai Long, he actually dares to trouble me again, thinking I’m easy to bully.
Hmph, if he’s courting death, he can’t blame anyone else.”
“Now, you can kill me,” the tortured assassin asked directly for death.
Tangyu nodded, “Certainly, such a pleasing task, I am very willing to perform—you’re welcome.” At Tangyu’s signal, the Flame Demon Scorpion King flew up and bit the assassin, then turned into a streak of light that flew into Tangyu’s mouth.
The assassin suddenly felt endless agony surging through his entire body.
His body immediately became unbearably hot as if his blood was burning, and he felt as if his entire body was about to burst.
“Aaah—” the assassin finally shrieked in pain, furiously glaring at Tangyu, “You dared to deceive me.”
“Did I lie to you?
Hmph, I only promised that I’d kill you, never specified how.
This punishment is actually rather light for you; enjoy the last twenty-four hours of your life,” Tangyu sneered coldly, then turned and walked away, no longer paying any attention to the suffering assassin.
