381: Chapter 381: With you here, we are not afraid!
“Crack!”
The bone-shattering sound was chilling, making it feel as if that person’s face had just been kicked to pieces.
“Splatter!”
Bright red blood spurted out in a big gush from the man’s mouth, like a water gun, a sight jarringly gruesome.
The man’s body then hit the ground, eyes rolling back, blood flowing freely, and for a moment it was uncertain whether he was dead or alive.
Tangyu’s strike was nothing if not ruthless, making everyone onlookers take a fearful leap in their hearts.
This young man, who seemed as meek and weak as a scholarly student, was vicious in his attack.
Harmless to humans and animals that’s probably what they mean when they talk about people like him.
In the car, Guo Momo also protected Lin Feifei and Zhao Yaya, covering their eyes so they would not see such a violent and bloody scene.
Zhao Yaya, that little lass, though, didn’t seem to have much fear and peeked curiously at the chaos unfolding outside the car.
With one more down, the others felt an even deeper wariness towards Tangyu.
“Everyone, attack with me,” the woman commanded.
The crowd exchanged glances, and suddenly they all charged towards Tangyu.
It’s true that two fists can’t compete with four legs, but it depends on the quality of those legs; Tangyu wasn’t too concerned about legs like these.
Also, with the bald man now serving as a human shield, Tangyu could act without restraint.
The opponents put away their knives and instead, with iron sticks or fists, started to encircle Tangyu, determined to bring him down and rescue their boss.
“Bang bang bang!!!”
“Fuck, you hit the boss.”
“Uh—I’m flying.”
Tangyu delivered another brutal kick, this time to a man’s groin, immediately eliciting howls of agony as the man was sent flying.
A direct hit to the vitals—of course, the man fell to the ground, crying out pitifully and unable to rise, a sight terribly wretched.
“You hit women too?
Are you even a man?”
Tangyu said, “I treated you like a sow, and it’s you I’m hitting.”
“Uh—”
The woman’s abdomen also took a kick from Tangyu, sending her flying backward into a lake.
With two more down, the remaining three also had their share of pain and, at this point, were looking at Tangyu with genuine fear in their eyes.
They looked at each other, uncertain of what to do next.
To continue fighting, with their mediocre strength, would surely be asking for a beating.
But to not fight—their boss was still in Tangyu’s hands.
Sometimes in the criminal world, one has no choice but to face the danger and charge ahead against one’s better judgment.
“Go after those three women,” one of the men said, and the other two immediately found a new target, abandoning their attack on Tangyu to rush towards the car.
They swung their iron sticks and smashed down hard on the car.
Inside the car, Guo Momo and the others were terrified, hugging each other tightly.
Seeing this, Tangyu’s eyes turned cold, and with a strong pull, two “crack” sounds of broken bones could be heard.
The bald man gasped in pain, his teeth clattering and his face breaking out in cold sweat.
With a strong heave, Tangyu flung the bald man away—both of his arms dislocated by Tangyu’s action.
Now, the bald man lay there like a dead dog.
Having taken care of the bald man, Tangyu charged at the other three.
However, because they were close to the car and had taken initiative first, by the time Tangyu had dealt with the bald man, they had already reached the vehicle.
“Thump!
Thump!
Thump!”
Their iron sticks smashed down powerfully on the car’s glass, but instead of the expected shattering, three dull thuds were heard, and the recoil almost injured the attackers themselves, causing them to retreat a step in bewilderment, staring at the car.
They had never seen glass so sturdy; despite using all their strength to smash it, not only did the glass not break, but it didn’t even chip.
This astonished them, as they had never come across such a thing before.
Inside the car, Guo Momo and the others gradually calmed down.
“I forgot that this car is bulletproof.
As long as we stay inside and don’t open the doors, even guns won’t harm us,” Guo Momo said.
Zhao Yaya pouted, “You should’ve said that earlier, Momo.
You scared my little heart just now.
Hehe, this is fun, look how stupid they look.
They’ve never seen a bulletproof car before.
Keep smashing, smash all you want.”
Although the three attackers wanted to continue smashing, Tangyu was already upon them, swiftly incapacitating each one in turn until all three lay on the ground.
Whether with broken arms or vomiting blood, they all curled up, moaning with pain.
Ten people, with the exception of the woman who had been kicked into the lake, the other nine all lay defeated on the ground.
“Let’s get out and play a bit,” Zhao Yaya suddenly said, opening the car door and dashing out, with Guo Momo unable to restrain her.
With no other option, Guo Momo and Lin Feifei reluctantly followed her out of the car.
Zhao Yaya, excited, approached Tangyu, and with eyes filled with admiration, said, “Good guy, brother, you were really too cool just now.
You’re just like Bruce Lee reincarnated.
These bad guys deserved to be beaten.”
Tangyu paid no attention to Zhao Yaya but instead walked over to the bald man lying on the ground like a dead dog, stepping on his chest.
The bald man coughed violently in pain, his eyes flashing with a cold light, like he was ready to devour someone.
Unfortunately, a glare can’t kill.
“Now you can tell me, who sent you guys?” Tangyu asked.
Guo Momo and Lin Feifei, Liu Mei, all furrowed their brows at the same time, realizing that these people were not just a simple robbery gang but had been instructed to kidnap them.
“In our line of work, keeping trust is the most important thing.
Betraying our employer is absolutely out of the question, so you can save that thought,” the bald man said through gritted teeth.
Just as he finished speaking, he felt a severe pain surge up from his chest, causing him to grimace in agony.
“Are you sure you won’t tell me?” Tangyu asked again, but his tone was colder.
The bald man clenched his jaw, but he immediately felt the pressure on his chest from the foot above increase.
He felt as if all his ribs were about to break and deform, and even his heart was about to be crushed.
“I’ll—speak!” the bald man finally capitulated.
Tangyu casually lifted his foot’s pressure without a change in expression, his face still showing indifference with no discernible emotional shift.
If one were to just look at his face, it would seem utterly harmless, even somewhat shy and naive.
Such a man should normally be considered cultured and genial, making it hard to imagine that when angered, he could be as terrifying as a killing god.
“Actually, I don’t know who the employer is either.
I received a mysterious phone call, and the person provided me with information to kidnap you and hand you over to them.
I didn’t take it seriously at first, but then they transferred five hundred thousand directly to me.
That’s when I paid attention and brought my guys here to lay an ambush for you,” the bald man explained.
Tangyu’s eyebrows twitched slightly, seeing in the bald man’s eyes that he wasn’t lying.
The person behind the scenes was very cautious, not even meeting face-to-face with the bald man, but only contacting him through phone calls.
“Do you know how to find that person?
Where did they say to bring us after capturing us?” Tangyu asked.
The bald man shook his head, “I really don’t know.
He always calls me, and every time, it’s a different number.
I’ve tried calling back, but it turned out to be disconnected.
Each number was used only once.
I’ve only heard of such tactics on television; I’ve never encountered them in real life.
So, I had no choice but to do as he said, and besides, there was money to be earned, which made my brothers and I willing to do it.
We are just small-time thugs from Miyun Town.”
Tangyu frowned again; the person had indeed been cautious, leaving no trace for Tangyu to follow and no idea who was behind it.
Tangyu had considered having the bald man and his group lead him to the exchange, but they had come out for fun, and with Guo Momo and the others there, it wasn’t convenient to proceed with that plan.
“Hmm, someone’s there,” Tangyu’s gaze suddenly lifted as he looked into the distance.
He saw a car start up abruptly and speed away.
Tangyu immediately realized the person behind the scenes had been monitoring from this location, cursing the speed at which he escaped.
Tangyu felt like giving chase, but it wasn’t the right moment, so he could only watch helplessly as the person vanished from sight.
“Should we chase?” Guo Momo, Liu Mei, asked, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.
Tangyu shook his head, “Let it be, it’s inadvisable to pursue a retreating enemy, and even if we caught up, we probably wouldn’t gain much.
Besides, they’ve gone too far to catch easily.
We came out to have fun, let’s not bother with anything else.”
Who exactly was pulling strings behind the scenes this time?
Tangyu didn’t want to dwell on that question for now; he’d investigate thoroughly once they returned.
Regardless of who it was, Tangyu would make sure they paid the price they deserved.
“Let’s go,” Tangyu said.
Guo Momo and Lin Feifei followed him, but after a few steps, they noticed that Zhao Yaya hadn’t kept up.
Guo Momo turned back and saw Zhao Yaya crouched next to the bald man, fiddling with something.
Guo Momo immediately called out, “Yaya, what are you doing?”
Zhao Yaya immediately stood up, shaking her head, “Ah, nothing much, I was just curious and wanted to take a look.”
Guo Momo glanced at Zhao Yaya’s hand and noticed she was hiding something, but she didn’t pay it much mind.
After getting into the car, Tangyu drove off without delay.
“Tangyu, do you know who’s behind this?” Guo Momo asked.
Tangyu shook his head, “No idea.
I have a few suspects, but nothing certain yet.
It seems all of them could be possible.
But the person is too careful.
Moreover, they clearly want to capture me, not just seek revenge.
If they wanted revenge, they could have just let those guys beat me up or kill me outright.
But they wanted to kidnap me, which clearly indicates a purpose.”
Guo Momo nodded, “It seems you’ve made quite a few enemies in Donglin City.”
Tangyu turned to look at the three and said, “Maybe this trip will get a bit thrilling.
Their action this time wasn’t major, and I suspect there will be follow-up moves.
And since I’ve made so many enemies, there might be others lurking in the shadows waiting for us.
Are you scared?”
The three looked at each other, then Lin Feifei said, “As long as you’re with us, we’re not afraid!”
Tangyu was taken aback, then burst into laughter, as cheerful and sunny as ever.
“As long as you’re with us, we’re not afraid!”—a simple phrase, yet it warmed the heart like the sun in winter, a divine praise.
