Chapter 54 Protecting the Zombie King 4

Jun Jiuli looked at the pitiable little puppy beside her. It was the second day the original host was wandering with Pei An. They had been surrounded by a group of zombies and had only found some safety after fleeing to this civilian house.

Seeing Pei An's sweaty little appearance, the virus in his body must be tormenting him again. The young hero truly had great endurance.

With this thought, Jun Jiuli prepared to go out to find some food. The siblings hadn't found any supplies after escaping. How could the little puppy fight the virus on an empty stomach?

“Where are you going, sister?” the voice was tinged with urgency.

Jun Jiuli placed the butcher knife next to him. “Take this for self-defense. I’m going to find something to eat and will be back soon.”

“Sister, can I go with you?”

“No, you rest well.”

“Sister, my hair is getting a bit long. Can you trim it for me when you get back?”

Jun Jiuli thought for a moment and nodded. “Okay.”

Shui Wa: “Host, the little puppy seems suspicious of you.”

“He and the original host depended on each other. He’s extremely familiar with every action and expression of the original host. You can’t blame me for this. Let fate decide. If it’s unavoidable, I’ll reveal my identity.”

“Tsk tsk tsk, this is nothing like the kind and gentle little puppy in the original host’s memory. It’s clearly a big wolfdog capable of hiding its true nature.”

“The siblings are much the same.”

“Where else are you going? Don’t you have supplies in your space? Why bother finding them?”

“Are you stupid? Can the expiration dates of supplies from the last plane match this time?”

The air was filled with a nauseating smell of blood. Many cars on the street looked like they had crashed, and people were injured everywhere. Jun Jiuli tried to move quietly, not wanting to be entangled by these disgusting creatures.

She found a small supermarket nearby and packed enough for two people for a month into her space with plastic bags. There was a cashier in the supermarket who had turned into a zombie, staring blankly in Jun Jiuli’s direction.

Jun Jiuli tested the original host’s eyes, and the female zombie moved towards her. Well, this illusion was good. Five-star review. She took out a ten-square-meter storage ring and put the zombie inside. She also wanted to study this virus.

When Jun Jiuli returned to the outside of the civilian house, she directly presented a large bag of self-heating rice and self-heating hot pot, along with a bag of snacks and biscuits, and added some apples she had grown in her space.

She also picked a large saber from her space to use as her self-defense weapon. The butcher knife didn’t quite suit her temperament. It was better to leave it for the little puppy as a memento of a loved one.

As soon as Jun Jiuli returned, she saw a slow-moving old man with blood all over his hands knocking on the door of the room where the little puppy was hiding. He seemed to have heard Jun Jiuli’s movement and slowly turned his head.

His aged face was covered in black veins, and his mouth was split open to his ears. His hair and body were wet for unknown reasons, making him look very unhygienic.

He gave Jun Jiuli a foolish smile, and as he opened his mouth, his tongue extended towards Jun Jiuli.

“Damn it, Shui Wa, explain clearly, what’s going on?” Jun Jiuli asked the system in her mind while dodging, holding the saber and rushing towards the old zombie. With one strike, she split the zombie’s head in half. Fortunately, she was quick and didn’t get any of the filth on her.

“This wasn’t in the original host’s memory. There are indeed mutated zombies, but they are very rare. The original host, while fleeing with Pei En, never encountered anything this powerful.”

“Damn it, could this little puppy be trying to kill me?”

“It’s possible. Could he think we are stray souls occupying his sister’s body?”

At this moment, the previously closed door opened. “You’re back.”

“See, see. Host, we’ve hit the nail on the head. He doesn’t even call you sister anymore.”

Jun Jiuli only nodded indifferently. She let out an “en” and handed him the things in her hands.

Pei An took out an apple from the bag and leaned against the wall, eating it. A drop of crystal-clear tear fell onto the fruit.

“Where did you get the apple?”

“Eat with peace of mind, it’s not poisoned.”

Pei An took a bite. It was crisp.

“Sister, this apple is really sweet.” After saying that, he wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes and asked again, “Sister, can you cut my hair again?”

Jun Jiuli directly gave up, sitting on the edge of the bed. She took out a pair of scissors and a mirror from her space. “You do it yourself, I don’t have the skill.”

Pei An looked up, his eyes red like a rabbit’s. He said with some grievance, “Where did she go? Did she abandon me too?”

Although Jun Jiuli knew he was pretending, she couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken. “She didn’t abandon you. She exchanged something with my superior to have me protect you. I won’t harm you.”

Pei An lowered his head, hiding the tumultuous emotions in his eyes, and silently gnawed on the apple. After eating, he actually felt much more comfortable.

After finishing the apple, he made two boxes of self-heating rice by himself. After the rice was cooked, he handed a portion to Jun Jiuli. “I will obey you obediently. The apocalypse is difficult; you must also take care of yourself.”

Shui Wa: “Wuwuwu~ A beautiful, strong, and tragic little puppy is so heartbreaking.”

“Heh heh, be careful, he might trick you into nothing left. If he hadn’t seen me fighting the zombie outside with ease, he might have wanted to kill me long ago and switch back his sister’s soul.”

“He’s not making a move now only because I’m stronger than him. He hasn’t found a way to bring back Chu Nanxing yet. He’s letting me eat just so Chu Nanxing’s body isn’t harmed. Little trash, be more careful.”

“Wuwuwu, human emotions are so complicated. These tears of sorrow were shed in vain. (*꒦ິ⌓꒦ີ)”

“What should I call you?”

“Me? My surname is Jun, and my given name is Jiuli.”

“Sister Jiuli, where are we going next?”

“Anything is fine with me. Where do you want to go?”

“I want to go to City C.”

“Okay.”
