Chapter 483 Do You Think You're Worthy?

"Chen Mo, I'm leaving. I'm going to the western hospital to support their work, and the school has agreed."

Hearing Li Wanqi's words, Chen Mo frowned slightly, "Then what about your graduation defense?"

Li Wanqi smiled, "It's okay, the school said they would issue my graduation certificate and degree certificate."

"That's good, but the conditions there aren't very good. You need to take care of yourself when you get there," Chen Mo cautioned.

Li Wanqi nodded.

"Actually, what I said last night was intentional."

Chen Mo's expression stiffened.

Li Wanqi smiled magnanimously, "These words have been bottled up in my heart for so many years. I feel really happy and much more relaxed after saying them."

"But don't worry, I won't pester you, because I also know that liking someone doesn't necessarily mean you have to have them. I wish you a lifetime of peace and happiness."

"Goodbye, old classmate."

After saying this, without waiting for Chen Mo to say anything, Li Wanqi turned and left.

However, the moment Li Wanqi turned, tears slid from her eyes.

Watching Li Wanqi's retreating figure, Chen Mo stood there blankly, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

"She's already far away, why don't you chase after her and chat a bit more?" Just then, a voice sounded beside Chen Mo.

Chen Mo finally came back to his senses and looked to the side. Chen Mo was startled, "Mengyao, you, why are you here?"

Tian Mengyao didn't speak, she just looked at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo felt a little guilty and explained, "That's my classmate, she's going to the west for medical support and came to say goodbye."

Tian Mengyao nodded, "I know."

"You know?" Chen Mo was taken aback.

"Yes, she came to the hospital this morning saying she wanted to find you. I chatted with her for a long time," Tian Mengyao replied.

Chen Mo was stunned, appearing somewhat surprised.

"Let's go, the dean needs to see us about something," Tian Mengyao said, turning and walking towards the hospital.

Upon hearing this, Chen Mo quickly followed.

Originally, Chen Mo wanted to explain his relationship with Li Wanqi.

But the words caught in his throat, and he swallowed them back.

After all, there was really nothing between them.

Soon, the two arrived at the dean's office.

"Director Chen, Deputy Director Tian." Seeing Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao arrive, Dong Shaohua smiled and stood up to greet them.

"Dean, you needed to see us?" Chen Mo asked.

Dong Shaohua nodded, "Yes, Longhua City is holding a medical expert seminar, and I want you to represent Longhua First Hospital and attend."

"Seminar? What are we discussing?" Chen Mo asked.

Dong Shaohua sighed, and the smile on his face gradually disappeared.

He took a document from his desk and handed it to Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao.

"A seminar on the cancellation of traditional Chinese medicine formulas and prescriptions in hospitals." Chen Mo's brow furrowed as he read the contents.

Dong Shaohua said, "Traditional Chinese medicine has been suppressed all along. In fact, some traditional Chinese medicines are very effective. However, these medicines have infringed upon the interests of some people. Now, these people actually want to cut off all traditional Chinese medicine from hospitals."

Tian Mengyao said indignantly, "They are like parasites! They are simply inhumane!"

Chen Mo didn't say anything, but nodded in agreement, "Okay, Mengyao and I will go."

Holding the document, Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao were about to leave.

"Director Chen, whether traditional Chinese medicine can remain in hospitals depends on you," Dong Shaohua said solemnly.

Chen Mo smiled faintly, "I never show mercy to beasts who betray their teachers and ancestors."

After speaking, Chen Mo took Tian Mengyao's hand and headed to the hospital parking lot.

Arriving at the parking lot, Tian Mengyao frowned slightly, "Why did the dean specifically ask us? Couldn't he go himself?"

"I think there should be some experts there with a conscience, and they can't all support the abolition of traditional Chinese medicine."

Chen Mo replied, "That's because the dean can't afford to offend those people."

"Then isn't the dean pitting us against them?" Tian Mengyao's delicate brows furrowed, showing displeasure.

Chen Mo put his arm around Tian Mengyao's waist, "Not really. You know how capable your husband is."

Hearing this, Tian Mengyao's small face immediately turned red.

"You're going to get me killed, saying such things here!" With that, Tian Mengyao, her face flushed, ran towards the BMW and opened the door to get in.

Chen Mo was bewildered.

He was already very capable, and it was easy to deal with those beasts who were greedy for profit.

Was there something wrong with saying that?

The meeting was held in the comprehensive conference room of the Health Department.

All the prominent experts in Longhua were present.

Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao inquired about the location of the conference room and walked in with Tian Mengyao.

Most of the attendees were elderly people.

Besides Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao, the youngest was a doctor in his late forties.

Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao found their seats for Longhua First Hospital and sat down.

Their appearance immediately drew the attention of many people.

Because Chen Mo and Tian Mengyao were too young and looked unfamiliar, many people didn't recognize them.

An old man sitting next to Chen Mo frowned slightly, "Young man, go to the back to observe. This is not a place for you to sit."

Chen Mo glanced at the old man and ignored him, continuing to sit there with Tian Mengyao.

The old man's expression darkened. He was an expert from the Third Hospital, and a junior dared to ignore him like this.

"Young man, didn't you hear me speaking?" the old man questioned again.

Chen Mo looked at the old man confusedly, "Am I sitting in your chair?"

The old man shook his head slightly.

"Then why are you being a busybody? Did you buy this chair? Does it matter to me where I sit?" Chen Mo retorted.

Instantly, the old man was stunned.

He hadn't expected the young man in front of him to dare to call him nosy!

The old man glared at Chen Mo, his beard bristling, "Kid, do you know who I am? Even Dong Shaohua from your Third Hospital has to show me some respect!"

"Really? Unfortunately, I'm not Dong Shaohua," Chen Mo said calmly.

"Believe it or not, I'll call Dong Shaohua right now and have him fire you!" the old man roared.

Chen Mo sneered dismissively, "Old man, you think too highly of yourself."

"You, you!" The old man glared at Chen Mo furiously.

"Get out of here right now!"

Facing the old man's roar, Chen Mo sneered, "You're here for the meeting, and so am I. Why should I listen to you?"

"You? A greenhorn, wanting to attend an expert conference? Do you think you're worthy?!" the old man roared.

"Whether I'm worthy or not isn't for you to decide. Sitting with a trash doctor like you, who is arrogant and incompetent, makes me feel pathetic!" Chen Mo taunted mercilessly.
