Chapter 255 No Responsibility

As expected, Fang Jianlin shifted the blame back to Chen Mo.

"Yes, Director Fang, I'll arrange it right away," the doctor nodded and headed towards the intensive care unit.

About an hour later, the critically injured patient, due to multiple organ failure, ultimately died.

When the middle-aged woman outside the door heard this news, she nearly fainted.

Fortunately, there were many other injured patients' families nearby who supported her in time, preventing her from falling.

"My son, my son!"

"How could you leave, how could you leave before your mother, my son!"

The middle-aged woman wept uncontrollably.

The doctor beside her urged, "Family member, please sign this death notification quickly. We need to send the deceased to the morgue as soon as possible. Also, because you haven't completed the admission procedures, all the treatment costs were covered by our department. However, the morgue fee needs to be paid by you. You can settle it later."

"Pay? You treated my son to death, and you still expect me to pay?!" The middle-aged woman glared at the doctor with bloodshot eyes.

The doctor retorted, "Family member, the treatment costs for your son while he was alive were borne by our department. Are we expected to pay even after his death?"

"My son came to your hospital, so your hospital should be responsible!"

"Nonsense! So, if someone comes to our hospital and suddenly dies, are we responsible then? That's simply unreasonable behavior."

Hearing the doctor's words, the middle-aged woman was almost infuriated to death.

Her trembling fingers, filled with rage, found an unknown strength, and she lunged at the doctor.

The sudden turn of events caught the doctor off guard.

Instantly, the middle-aged woman's fingernails raked across the doctor's face.

"Ouch!"

The doctor cried out in pain.

Several bloody marks appeared on his face, bleeding profusely, looking quite horrifying.

"You, you dare to scratch me!" The doctor angrily raised his hand.

He was about to slap the unreasonable middle-aged woman.

However, at that moment, other injured patients' families stepped forward, shielding the middle-aged woman and staring angrily at the disfigured doctor.

Seeing the angry crowd before him, the doctor's expression turned tense.

"Doctor, what you said earlier was a bit too much, wasn't it?"

"Exactly. I just heard that some of our family members have had problems, and it seems none of them were admitted. So, if something happens, your hospital isn't responsible either?"

A patient's family member's words immediately drew everyone's attention.

"We are doing our best to admit them, and their condition is currently stable," the doctor replied nervously, clutching his face.

"Hmph, Provincial Hospital is a big hospital. But at Longhua First Hospital, they had no problems. Yet, after coming here, so many issues have arisen. Provincial Hospital has truly disappointed us!"

"Yes, too disappointing!"

Faced with the crowd's questioning, the doctor looked embarrassed and quickly said, "I'll go and see what's happening. If there are any problems, I'll inform you immediately."

With that, the doctor hastily retreated into the emergency room.

He didn't have time to get the middle-aged woman to sign the death certificate.

"Sitting here and waiting like this won't do. What if our family members also have problems?"

"But what can we do? For now, we can only rely on the doctors at Provincial Hospital."

At this point, someone spoke up, "I heard before that during this rescue, there was a director named Chen Mo from Longhua First Hospital whose medical skills were exceptional. It was because of him that the leaders of the medical department arranged for our family members to go to Longhua First Hospital."

"But this is Provincial Hospital. We just left them, how can we have the nerve to go back and find them?"

"Life is at stake. I believe Director Chen wouldn't refuse to help someone in need, would he?"

"If not, why don't we complain to the medical department? This car accident has garnered so much attention; they definitely won't stand by and do nothing."

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement.

Subsequently, a patient's family member called the medical department.

As expected, when the medical department learned of the current condition of these patients, they paid special attention.

After all, this car accident had attracted considerable attention, and many eyes were now fixed on the situation.

Less than half an hour later, Tang Binwen arrived at Provincial Hospital in a special car.

He was not yet aware of the transfer of these patients from Longhua First Hospital to Provincial Hospital.

Furthermore, with another patient's death, Tang Binwen's expression was extremely grim.

If any more problems occurred, his position as director might be at stake.

Upon hearing that Tang Binwen had arrived at Provincial Hospital.

Wang Degui, the Vice President of Provincial Hospital, and Fang Jianlin, the head of the emergency department, both rushed out to greet him.

However, seeing Tang Binwen's displeased expression, Wang Degui looked somewhat puzzled, "Director Tang, what brings you to our Provincial Hospital today?"

"What brings me here? Ask your head of the emergency department," Tang Binwen said with a dark expression.

Fang Jianlin's heart sank, sensing something was amiss.

He quickly explained, "Vice President Wang, you know about this. Some patients didn't want to be treated at Longhua First Hospital, so they transferred to our hospital."

"Is that all?" Tang Binwen questioned.

Behind him stood many of the injured patients' families.

Fang Jianlin stammered, "One critically injured patient, due to internal organ failure, ultimately succumbed to his injuries."

"What?!" Wang Degui exclaimed upon hearing this, looking at Fang Jianlin in shock.

"Why was I not informed of this matter?"

Fang Jianlin hastily replied, "Because that critically injured patient had not yet completed the admission procedures, so, so he wasn't considered our hospital's patient, and we didn't report this to you."

"No admission procedures?" Wang Degui's face instantly turned grim.

As Vice President, how could he not understand Fang Jianlin's intentions?

Fang Jianlin quickly added, "Furthermore, his family signed the critical illness notice for a non-hospital patient."

Saying this, Fang Jianlin produced the critical illness notice.

"What is a critical illness notice for a non-hospital patient?" Tang Binwen asked.

Wang Degui explained, "It's a notice for patients not admitted to our hospital, meaning that if a medical accident occurs or responsibility arises, our hospital will not be liable. The responsibility originally lies with the family."

Upon hearing this, the distraught middle-aged woman began to wail again, "They never mentioned this before; they just told me it was a critical illness notice."

"Yes, we can all testify to that!"

Others chimed in in agreement.

Tang Binwen asked sternly, "What about the condition of the other injured patients?"

"They are all doing well!" Fang Jianlin quickly replied.

"Nonsense! He just said that several patients have persistent high fevers, and even organ failure."

Another patient's family member stepped forward.
