Chapter 10 The Fool

"Idiot!" Lucifer stared for a moment, his face darkening. He couldn't help but curse.

The blood-colored sky gradually faded, and the scattered low-level evil dragons also perished. In the sky, two figures, one black and one white, faced off.

However, the complexions of the two black figures were not good.

"Lucifer, you've regressed quite a bit after a thousand years." Michael's three pairs of platinum wings behind him were incredibly conspicuous under the dark night. His pure white hair and pure white suit seemed to radiate a faint golden light. His gentle face bore a striking resemblance to Lucifer's gentle face.

His large eyes held a golden hue. Unlike Bai Cha's calm indifference or Lucifer's gentle composure, Michael's eyes were like Mo Ziye's, pure and warm without a single flaw. The only difference was that Mo Ziye's eyes held more innocence, while Michael's eyes were filled with excitement and passion.

"Idiot." Lucifer's gaze, filled with unconcealed disdain and dissatisfaction, went straight to his master.

"You!" Michael's face turned red and white. He had helped this demon dragon, so why was this guy calling him an idiot?

On the other side, Bai Cha's complexion was also not good. Looking at the innocent-looking young boy in front of her, whose large eyes clearly held concern and a desire for credit, Bai Cha fell silent for a long time, finally suppressing the anger in her heart.

"Bai Cha, are you alright? I rushed over as soon as I saw the sky change color." Mo Ziye flew over, his white-gold wings looking particularly brilliant. Coupled with his somewhat adorable, pure, and blended face and his dazzling starry eyes, he truly resembled an angel at God's side in the Bible, as if capable of purifying the heart.

Looking at this face, so pure it was almost childlike, Bai Cha's anger seemed to subside a little.

Never mind. He didn't know the situation; it was understandable that he disrupted the mission.

Bai Cha put away her gun. For some reason, she ultimately relented.

"Hey! Bai Cha, what's wrong with your waist!" Mo Ziye retracted his holy sword and suddenly noticed the un-dissipated light blade around Bai Cha's waist, making his scalp tingle.

The slender light blade had pierced Bai Cha's left waist, leaving a long trail of blood from behind. Mo Ziye gasped, imagining the feeling of a steel bar sliding inside his own body, and felt his calves go a little weak.

"Master." Lucifer flickered to Bai Cha's side. Bai Cha nodded, grabbed the now-weakened light blade, and crushed it into powder.

"You've worked hard." Bai Cha was a little annoyed. Her anger had not yet subsided. The sample from the first dragon disaster had been melted by two reckless individuals. This was the first time she had failed a mission.

"It is my duty, my master." Lucifer's demeanor and voice were warm and gentle, like a spring of warm water, a stark contrast to the disdain and contempt he showed Michael. However, the doubt in his eyes lingered.

He had seen Bai Cha get injured just now. She could have dodged it, yet she had moved forward to meet it, as if deliberately getting hurt.

"Master, you are injured. Let me carry you down." Lucifer smiled, and with a heave of his arms, he naturally performed a princess carry on Bai Cha.

Bai Cha: "!?!"

Her legs felt light, and this sudden warmth startled Bai Cha, causing her body to stiffen instinctively.

She had never been held like this before, nor had she ever been so nestled in someone's arms. She had been forced into it. Looking up, she saw Lucifer appearing as if nothing had happened, as if he were doing the most ordinary thing. She could only nod along, casually pressing on her wound, and let Lucifer carry her down.

"Bai Cha! Are you alright?" Gong Yuechen was the first to anxiously rush forward. He had been truly terrified when the light blade suddenly extended and pierced Bai Cha's body.

Although Bai Cha's identity caused her to be injured frequently, and Bai Cha was probably accustomed to it, seeing it firsthand still made Gong Yuechen's heart clench.

"Just a minor injury." Bai Cha nodded, her slight frown never relaxing. "This mission will not be recorded in my file."

The injury was minor; it was just that the injury was for naught.

"Uh, okay." Gong Yuechen shrunk his head, realizing Bai Cha was in a bad mood.

The holy light, as bright as day, was visible to anyone with eyes. Similarly, anyone with a brain could tell what had happened looking at the scene just now; those dragons had clearly been snatched away by someone.

"You don't know what's good for you." A voice sounded again; it was Liu Xi.

"You've been dawdling for so long, and our Young Master Mo solved the enemy in an instant. For such a glorious feat, you still..." Whether it was because he had been cooped up in the laboratory for too long, or for some other reason, while everyone else was afraid to speak in front of Bai Cha, there was a brave soul who dared to be the first to speak.

"Seeking death!"

Before Liu Xi could finish speaking, Bai Cha's furious cry escaped her lips. The anger that had subsided due to Mo Ziye's pure aura flared up instantly.

In a flash, Bai Cha was in front of Liu Xi, kicking him without mercy.

"No!" Mo Ziye's face changed drastically. He clearly felt Bai Cha's killing intent and quickly lunged forward, grabbing her arm.

Bai Cha froze for a moment, and the force of her kick immediately lessened.

A muffled groan sounded. Even with Mo Ziye pulling her, Liu Xi was kicked more than ten meters away, rolling on the ground before stopping. If Mo Ziye hadn't pulled Bai Cha, Liu Xi would have likely had his internal organs shattered by Bai Cha.

"Lord Liu!" A woman ran out and helped Liu Xi up. As soon as she helped him, she gasped in pain. Liu Xi was now bleeding from seven orifices and was barely breathing.

"How cruel of you!" Wu Yue exclaimed in surprise. She was from the Yue family; unlike other family surnames, her family surname followed her given name.

Liu Xi was the legitimate second young master of the Liu family, and Wu Yue was the fourth illegitimate daughter of the Yue family. They were engaged. Seeing her fiancé on the verge of death, it was natural for Wu Yue to be anxious.

"Do you all think I have a good temper?" Bai Cha's voice was cold, more chilling than a desert at night. Her peach blossom eyes were filled with frost, like a lone wolf in the desert under the dark night.

"Did I say something wrong? You and your dragon worked so hard, and you were even injured, yet you couldn't finish it. Young Master Mo solved them all in just one encounter. This mission should be S-class, yet you still want it not to be recorded?" Not only Wu Yue, but the remaining researchers were also confused.

Indeed, even if the Mo family didn't involve themselves in matters, they were the legitimate leaders of the Light faction, objects of worship for the families of the Light faction. It was the first time they had been so disliked.

"Hmph." Lucifer snorted with a half-smile. This light chuckle filled the quiet research institute with mockery.

"Have you all ruined your brains by doing experiments all day?" Gong Yuechen couldn't help himself and, disregarding the presence of the powerful figures, said indignantly, "Do you think the complete dragon corpses you use for your experiments just appear out of thin air?

If we eliminated dragons the way you do, wouldn't we just bomb them with missiles? Aren't the books detailing the dragons' weaknesses discovered through painstaking trials? Who do you think reports the dragon records?"

Thinking about it, it did make sense. The most complete dragon corpses were transported by the Shadow faction through the military. Without these complete dragon corpses, humans might not even know which parts of dragons were weak points or which parts were the hardest.

Correspondingly, the distance to the characteristics and weaknesses of most high-level evil dragons was also transmitted by the Shadow faction. This was all valuable information.

Everyone fell silent, looking at each other with surprise. Mo Ziye, in particular, looked extremely embarrassed and could only lower his head.

"I'm sorry, Bai Cha." Mo Ziye's small face turned red, and he mumbled with his head lowered.

"...Don't interfere casually in the future." Looking at Mo Ziye's pure, paper-like face, Bai Cha paused, and the reprimanding words were ultimately not spoken.

Bai Cha had used almost all her strength when kicking Liu Xi just now. The wound she had just pressed on immediately started bleeding more. Fortunately, although the light blade had pierced Bai Cha's body, she had deliberately avoided vital points, so it was not serious.

Bai Cha didn't even frown. She took out a roll of tape from a small box at her waist and, to everyone's astonishment, sealed the wound with tape without regard for potential infection.

"Let's go back." Bai Cha walked towards the door, but anyone could tell that Bai Cha was calling for Lucifer. Her gaze was like a blade of frost; wherever her eyes landed, people scattered.

"Bai, Bai Cha!"

A soft voice came from behind. This voice was very recognizable. Unlike Lucifer's deep and magnetic voice, this voice was gentle and soft, like mist brushing over water with sunlight shining down.

"Speak." Bai Cha turned to look at Mo Ziye, her attitude softening slightly.

She could tell that this young boy had not yet been involved in the so-called factional disputes. If it was not necessary, Bai Cha did not want to implicate the innocent.

Mo Ziye paused. His gaze at Bai Cha was somewhat complex, with a hint of admiration and a bit of fear. After a pause, he spoke, "When is Bai Cha going to Junyao Academy?"

"In a couple of days." Bai Cha didn't have a definite time and said so casually after thinking about it.

"Then, tomorrow, no, the day after tomorrow! Can I come find you the day after tomorrow!" Hearing Bai Cha's words, Mo Ziye suddenly became happy. Sensing the strange glances from those around him, his face turned red, and then he added, "Every new student at Junyao has a guide. We happened to meet, and since we'll be classmates in the future..."

Looking at Mo Ziye's awkwardness, Bai Cha fell silent. Mo Ziye was very strong, but he looked like a little white rabbit that had strayed into the forest. Perhaps to save face for him in front of everyone, or perhaps for some other reason, she couldn't bring herself to refuse.

"As you please." Bai Cha waved her hand and walked out of the research institute.

It wasn't until she reached the Bai family that Bai Cha finally breathed a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to say something, her feet suddenly left the ground again.

Bai Cha, who had been carried in a princess carry twice in one day, was completely bewildered. She looked at Lucifer strangely. After all, Lucifer was her contracted dragon and now her servant. If it were someone else doing this, Bai Cha would have made them understand why their face was so red.

"Please don't move, my master. You are injured." Lucifer smiled gently, maintaining his flawless smile. He said softly, "You've been trying to be strong all the way. Since we're home, please rest for a bit."

Hearing this, Bai Cha, who had been about to jump out of Lucifer's arms, had no choice but to give up.

I can rest, but why are you suddenly carrying me like this?

Looking at Lucifer's impeccably smiling face, Bai Cha felt that the more she looked, the more she wanted to punch him.

Could this guy be doing it on purpose?
