False Court
Chapter 11 Parting Ways
At this moment, two more zombies lunged from both sides of the passage, frantically trying to bite Su Mo's neck and shoulders.
Su Mo executed a shoulder throw, slamming the zombie on the left to the ground. Seeing it struggling to get up, he stomped on its head.
At this time, the zombie on the right also pounced. Su Mo used his hammer-wielding right hand to block its hands, while his left hand supported its jaw, restraining the zombie.
He looked like he was giving it his all, leaving his rear wide open.
Su Mo glanced sideways at Lan Xi. In fact, he had more than enough strength to deal with both zombies. But he deliberately didn't finish them off quickly. His purpose was simple: he wanted to see Lan Xi's reaction.
If Lan Xi attacked him, then this woman couldn't be kept alive; he would have to kill her.
He hadn't killed her before purely for the sake of information.
However, right at that moment, a zombie suddenly emerged from the room to Su Mo's right and pounced. Su Mo's eyes narrowed. He decided not to keep pretending.
Just then, Lan Xi shouted,
"Careful!"
She immediately rushed up and knocked the zombie away.
Su Mo raised his foot and, with a ruthless kick, snapped the neck of the zombie beneath his foot. His left hand grabbed the neck of the zombie in front of him and twisted it with all his might.
"Crack!"
In the blink of an eye, both zombies were dealt with.
Ignoring the struggling Lan Xi, Su Mo picked up his backpack and quickly headed upstairs.
After dealing with the zombie, Lan Xi hurried to follow. It was obvious that this mall was no longer safe.
Soon, Su Mo and Lan Xi reached the rooftop. Su Mo immediately closed the rooftop door. Then he began to carefully check every corner of the rooftop to see if any zombies were hiding.
If he wasn't mistaken, the dimensional overlap probably hadn't been complete before, which was why the zombies in the mall hadn't fully appeared.
After checking, Su Mo found a spot against the wall and sat down. Lan Xi was about to approach.
Su Mo warned her coldly, "Stay away from me."
"Why are you being so cold? Didn't we settle our differences? It's true that I locked you up first, but anyone would have done the same, seeing someone kill people so decisively in the street. Anyone would instinctively feel threatened. Besides, didn't you lock us up later?"
Lan Xi said.
"You're right, but I don't want to be stabbed in the back."
Su Mo replied expressionlessly.
Hearing this, Lan Xi was exasperated. She said angrily, "If I wanted to stab you, I would have had the chance to do it earlier."
"You should be glad you didn't, or you would have been out of the game by now."
"Yeah, right."
Lan Xi replied, her face a bit flushed.
"Okay, you don't need to tell me anything more. I don't care what information you have or what inside knowledge you have about this game. In short, I don't trust you, because we've already had a falling out, and you could turn on me at any time."
"Are you an idiot? Do you think that those people who are all smiles and flattery on the surface wouldn't stab you in the back?"
Lan Xi was about to explode with anger. She was really unlucky to run into such a paranoid person. If her teammates hadn't died, and she wasn't so scared to be alone, she would have left long ago.
"So what? I'm alone anyway, so it doesn't matter."
Su Mo remained unmoved. It wasn't that he didn't believe Lan Xi. It was just that he never intended to team up with anyone. He had entered the game to have some fun.
Lan Xi was rendered speechless by Su Mo. She was so angry she was about to die. She had finally found a group of teammates, but they had all died as soon as they started playing. Of course, there were conflicts, but after all, no one knew each other at the beginning, and it was normal for conflicts to arise over interests. She could only blame herself for being inferior.
No matter what, this guy was an expert. Teaming up with him might even lead to unexpected benefits. But the problem was that he just wouldn't team up with her.
"Hmph, you just keep being alone. You'll suffer sooner or later. This game requires teamwork."
Lan Xi replied angrily, then walked to the opposite side of Su Mo and sat down.
Su Mo ignored her. After resting for a while, he got up and walked to the edge of the rooftop, looking down. He could vaguely see countless dark figures moving below. Screams occasionally echoed from the distance, sounding particularly clear in the silent city. Then he fell into thought.
"Don't look. Going out now is a guaranteed death. No matter how good you are, you can't stand up against so many of them. We can only wait until dawn. Maybe those monsters will retreat."
Lan Xi couldn't help but say.
"Do you think these are zombies from our country? These are foreign zombies. They're not afraid of sunlight."
Su Mo replied calmly.
Lan Xi was stunned, unsure how to respond. He seemed to have a point. She had thought it would be safe during the day and people could log off.
Su Mo didn't pay any more attention to Lan Xi. He sat back down and slowly closed his eyes. Although he couldn't leave now, at least it was relatively safe here. It wouldn't hurt to rest for a while.
Time passed, and the sunlight of dawn began to fall.
Su Mo opened his eyes and found that he was feeling hungry. He took out biscuits and water from his backpack and started eating.
Hearing the noise, Lan Xi also woke up. Seeing Su Mo eating, she took out beef jerky from her backpack, opened the package, and began to eat.
Before Lan Xi could finish eating, Su Mo stood up.
Lan Xi quickly put away the remaining food and stood up as well.
Su Mo looked at Lan Xi and said, "You don't need to follow me. We'll part ways here. I've observed that this mall is five stories high. Behind it, on the left and right, there are two adjacent buildings. One is three stories high and the other is four. You can use a rope to get down. Don't say I'm heartless. I'll let you choose which one to go to first."
Lan Xi suppressed her anger and forced herself to say, "I'll choose, who's afraid of who? I'll take the four-story one."
After hearing this, Su Mo walked to the left without hesitation, secured the rope, and then slid down.
Seeing Su Mo leave, Lan Xi was disappointed, but there was nothing she could do. She could only walk to the right. He had made his point so clearly, she couldn't possibly keep following him shamelessly.
Anyway, either way, death was inevitable, right?
At this moment, Su Mo landed safely on the roof of the building. The door on the roof was open.
He walked in, hammer in hand. As soon as he reached the corner of the stairs, a zombie pounced. Su Mo leaned back to dodge and smashed the zombie's head with his hammer.
Then two more zombies rushed over.
Su Mo's expression was very cold, and his mind was extremely calm. He went to meet them.
Fast! Accurate! Ruthless!
One hammer per zombie.
He was simply like a killing god.
