Chen Rongsheng

Chapter 164 Another Night at the Guest House

Chapter 165

When we came out of Mu Mu's house, it was almost midnight. We had been rushing about all day and were so sleepy that our upper and lower eyelids were fighting. Uncle Mei said, "Let's find a guesthouse to sleep in first, and then go to the Ge family's ancestral home tomorrow morning."

Jiang Yongguang thought the same way. He walked along the road for a few minutes and turned into the first guesthouse he saw, asking the receptionist if there were any vacant rooms.

The receptionist nodded and said there were. Jiang Yongguang asked about the price and, finding it not too expensive, immediately booked two rooms.

Our original plan was the same as always: me, Uncle Mei, and Jiang Yongguang would squeeze into one room, and Little Liang would sleep in another room by herself. But when we got to the room, we realized this plan wouldn't work.

The rooms in this guesthouse were particularly small, with two single beds almost touching each other. There wasn't even a sofa in the room, and the remaining floor space wasn't enough for anyone to sleep on.

Moreover, because the floor was tiled, it was especially damp at night. It felt cold and wet underfoot, as if there was a layer of water.

I felt a bit hopeless on the spot and frowned, "This is bad, how are the four of us going to sleep?"

Little Liang blushed and didn't say anything, but she secretly winked at me.

Finally, Jiang Yongguang coughed and said, "Well, everyone is familiar with each other, so there's no need to be shy. Chen Rongsheng, you go sleep in the same room as Little Liang. Anyway, there are two beds, it's not like you'll be sleeping together, it's nothing, and Third Brother and I won't gossip about you."

I didn't dare to respond, but instead looked up at Uncle Mei. After all, Uncle Mei was my future father-in-law, and I had to see if he agreed to this kind of thing.

Uncle Mei understood what I meant and said, "I don't have any objections, but I don't know if Little Liang agrees. After all, Little Liang is a girl, wouldn't she think this is a bit inappropriate?"

Unexpectedly, Little Liang agreed quite readily. She shook her head and said, "There's nothing inappropriate, I believe in Chen Rongsheng's character. It's getting late, everyone should rest early."

After saying that, she turned around and went back to her room, and I followed her back to the room.

Since Little Liang had spoken, Uncle Mei and Jiang Yongguang naturally had nothing to say. They both turned around and went back to their own rooms.

Back in the room, I took off my shoes and lay down on the bed. I slept on the side closer to the window, and Little Liang slept on the inside. I was about to go straight to sleep, but Little Liang took out a lot of toiletries from her backpack, saying she was going to take a shower first.

I was so sleepy that I couldn't even open my eyes, and I said vaguely, "You're already so tired, and you still have the energy to take a shower? I really admire you."

Little Liang said proudly, "Of course, personal hygiene is still important."

After saying that, she took the toiletries and went to the bathroom. Soon, I heard the sound of running water.

I was so sleepy that I couldn't stand it. Listening to the sound of water in my ears, I slowly drifted off to sleep.

I slept very groggily, and I had several strange dreams in a row while I was sleeping. One moment I dreamed about working with Little Mei in a small restaurant, and the next moment I dreamed about going to a tomb with Jiang Yongguang and Little Liang, and being entangled by a man-eating tree.

I don't know how long I slept, but I suddenly felt itchy on my face, as if hair was brushing against my face. Then, I vaguely smelled a floral fragrance, which I later found out was the scent of camellias.

My subconscious told me that someone seemed to be riding on me, doing something to me.

This feeling was a bit like the feeling I had by the Ma Mu River when the White-Clad Immortal was giving me CPR.

At first, I thought it must be a dream, but the tickling sensation on my face became more and more real. I could even hear a woman's breathing, which instantly woke me up, and my body shuddered violently!

"Who?! Who's riding on me?" I had just woken up, and my mouth wasn't working properly, so I shouted vaguely.

The next second, the feeling on my body disappeared, followed by a sound of footsteps coming from beside my ear.

I struggled to jump up from the bed and tried to open my eyes. In the darkness, I heard the sound of a window opening.

I quickly turned on the bedside lamp. At this moment, Little Liang, who was sleeping next to me, was also awakened from her dream.

"What's wrong, Chen Rongsheng? What happened?"

Her long hair was a bit messy from sleep, her big watery eyes were also sleepy, and her pajamas were loose, with a strap slipping off her left shoulder, revealing a patch of fair skin.

But I wasn't in the mood to appreciate these things. Instead, I immediately got up and walked towards the window.

"Someone just came in and even rode on me, damn it..." I said angrily.

"What?"

When Little Liang heard this, her pretty face turned pale with fright. She quickly jumped out of bed and walked to the window with me.

The window was open, and outside was a very tall banyan tree. You could completely escape by climbing out of the window and down the tree.

I leaned on the window sill and looked left and right, but I couldn't find anyone.

"I guess the person has already run far away." Little Liang guessed, "Chen Rongsheng, did you see what that person looked like?"

"It was the White-Clad Immortal." I said with certainty.

Because I could recognize the unique floral fragrance on her body.

"Y-you're sure?"

Little Liang was even more surprised when she heard this and grabbed my arm to ask.

"How do you know it was her? Did you see her face?"

I shook my head and said, "No, but I remember the fragrance on her body, it's kind of like a floral scent."

Little Liang wrinkled her nose and sniffed, but shook her head and said, "Why can't I smell anything? Chen Rongsheng, are you sure you didn't smell it wrong?"

"There's definitely no mistake, I was very awake at the time." I said with certainty.

Little Liang nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "We went to investigate her tonight, and she snuck into our room in the middle of the night, which is also expected... but what did she come here for? Could it be to kill us to silence us?"

"Definitely not." I shook my head and said, "With her kung fu, if she really wanted to kill us, we would both be dead by now."

"That's true..." Little Liang said with a pale face, "We were both sound asleep when she came in, and we really didn't have any ability to resist. But since she didn't come to kill us, what did she come for?"

I spread my hands and said, "I don't know either."

After this ordeal, Little Liang and I couldn't sleep. I simply turned on the TV in the room and watched it boredly.

An hour later, Uncle Mei and Jiang Yongguang got up. Through the wall, I could hear the sound of the faucet running in the bathroom next door.

I went next door and knocked on the door and told them what happened. They also thought that it should be the White-Clad Immortal who had come to our door, and that she was probably doing this to give us a warning.

After dawn, Jiang Yongguang went to the front desk and asked to see the surveillance footage, but the receptionist said with a cold face that petty thieves often broke in to steal things, and that it wasn't a big deal. She refused to let us see the surveillance footage.

Later, Jiang Yongguang revealed his identity and forcibly demanded her cooperation. The receptionist reluctantly brought up the surveillance footage.

As a result, we looked through it for a long time and didn't find any trace of the White-Clad Immortal, but we accidentally stumbled upon something else...
