Chapter 543
Anton thanked everyone for welcoming him back, then he went to the treasure room, followed by Mr. Jenkins, the manor’s butler, and Ronia, who was currently functioning as his secretary. He deactivated the defensive array and then retrieved the two chests filled with gold coins and placed them beside the two chests that were already there.
Anton was pleased when looking at the four chests that were filled with gold coins. In total, each chest contained 100,000 gold coins. After that, he retrieved all the items that his summons managed to gather from the four days of delving the 30th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta Dungeon and placed them on the floor of the treasure room.
“Mr. Jenkins, please arrange these things in the room,” Anton told the butler, then he left.
What Anton didn’t know was that Mr. Jenkins and Ronia sighed at his careless behavior of leaving the treasure room open. Before Anton left, the butler told him that there were a couple of letters waiting for him in his office.
Anton went to his workspace slash office and took the two letters there and proceeded to go to his bedroom. When he arrived there, he opened the window facing the garden and was pleasantly surprised to see the garden full of blooming flowers. He knew that the flowers were blooming out of season, but because of his spell that produced mana water, they grew well.
The breeze brought the sweet smell of the flowers inside his room, and Anton felt a little intoxicated by the smell of the flowers. The garden full of flowers relaxed him. He sat on the chair that was placed behind the table on the balcony and observed the garden for a few minutes, simply appreciating it. He decided that he would commend the gardeners through Raymond and would give them a bonus. He was truly pleased with the arrangement of the garden that the gardeners did.
After a while, Anton cast the Blizzard spell that was converted into mana rain through his manipulation of the spell’s mana structure and made sure that every inch of the garden was covered with the magical rainwater. The refreshing smell intensified, and it made Anton feel a little drunk at the sweetness that the flowers brought. He kept looking at the flowers for a few more minutes and then turned his attention to the two letters that came.
One of the letters was from his sister, Anna, informing him of her progress in the academy. She mentioned that once their father arrived, the school would allow her to take a week's break from school. She said that she would be bringing a couple of her classmates who became her friends to the manor and to prepare a few movies for them to watch. Anton was pleasantly surprised that Anna was able to befriend new people. That meant that she was on the road to healing and was probably doing better than he was emotionally.
Anton remembered reading about the resiliency of youth and thought that he was also considered a youth even after adding the year that he spent on this world to the age that he reached when he was back on Earth. He was only 23 years old when he died back on Earth, and when he transmigrated here on this planet a year ago, this body was 17 years old. That meant that his true age at that moment was only 24, but then again, because he spent the majority of his time working nonstop just to survive when he was on Earth, Anton admitted that he wasn’t very mature, especially when it came to dealing with other people.
For a moment, Anton wondered if Anna’s day-to-day experiences in the academy resembled those of Harry Potter and his friends in the books. He decided that when she returned from school with her classmates, the movies that they were going to watch would be the Harry Potter films, and that excited him a bit since he had only seen the films once. Watching them again after a long while would feel like he was watching them anew.
The second letter was sent by his father, Anders. It informed him that Anders would arrive in Ormunda after two weeks if they were not delayed. With him were Selena’s brother and sister and the old guard that was looking after them, Norma’s parents, and Belue’s aunt and his aunt’s maid.
Selena’s brother was named Alfred, and he was 9 years old. Selena’s sister was a little older than Anna. Her name was Luna, and she was 15 years old. The old guard who was taking care of Selena’s siblings was called Normandy, and he was 59 years old.
Norma’s parents were Bruce and Sarah, and they were three years older than Anders at 48 years old. Anders even joked in the letter that Norma’s parent treated him like a young man since Anders was told that he looked like he was in his late 20s. That fact confirmed one thing to Anton, which was that the effect of the mana water would not fade even if it wasn’t consumed or bathed in for a long time. Anton also thought that his father’s age reversal was also brought on by him becoming a level 3 wizard in a short amount of time, in combination with the long-time use of mana water.
Belue’s aunt was named Romina, and she was 39 years old. Her maid was a young girl around 18 years old.
Anders was also bringing with him his mercenary group. There were 12 of them, excluding his father. Anton was a little surprised at the number of people that his father’s mercenary group already had. He knew that the number would increase still. That meant that his father would need a headquarters for his mercenary group, and his old house that Anton bought for 3000 gold coins would not suffice.
He was glad that his father gave him a timeline on when he was going to arrive in Ormunda. Anton planned to dive to the 30th floor for 3 or 4 more days so he could add more coins and treasure to the treasure room. He thought that his father might need the coins and items. Then he would stay in the manor until Anders arrived, resting.
After he was done reading the letters, Mr. Jenkins knocked on his door, and when he told the butler to enter, he was informed that the arrangement of the items in the treasure room was done and that Anton could now lock the treasure room.
Anton was pleased with how the treasure room looked and thought that he wouldn’t be embarrassed if anybody saw the room. Once he locked the treasure room, he told everyone who was following him, who were the butler, Ronia, and Ms. Orwells, that his father would arrive in two weeks.
Ms. Orwells then said that her job in the Rose Manor was done, but she insisted on showing everything to Anton. Since Anton had the time, she agreed with Ms. Orwells and followed her all around the manor while she introduced everything that she had done. Since the manor was huge, it actually took three hours for the tour to complete.
Anton wasn’t bored, though, since he truly enjoyed watching all the things that Ms. Orwells and everyone else did to the manor. He felt that the lighting wasn’t enough so he decided that he would take the time to create more Firebolt lanterns, so that the manor would be truly well lit.
