The main crux of Anton’s issue with the two battles with the monsters on the 50th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta was that, even though he was a little safe due to his Telekinesis and Teleport spells that allowed him to move and his incredible defense, resistance, and evasion, he was still fairly safe. Still, the battle took longer since the monsters had equally powerful defenses.
Anton wondered if his offensive capability was lacking. He was able to kill the monsters, though even though it was taking longer. He was a little grateful for his curses because he knew that without them, the battle would have lasted longer.
All of his summons bravely fought with the seven giant scorpions. Because of Anton’s curses and his Fanaticism aura, his summons dealt massive damage to the scorpions, particularly his four most powerful summons, which were the Valkyrie, the Shadow Master, the Dire Bear, and the Clay Golem.
While hovering above, Anton didn’t stop casting curses and spells at the monster either, and as expected, soon he heard the shells of the scorpions cracking. That signaled the demise of the seven monsters. Once the heads of the scorpions were pulverized, the monsters finally fell.
Anton immediately tagged the corpses of the seven giant scorpions so he could harvest the body parts that he could submit without them disappearing like the corpses after some time. With the help of his Valkyrie and Shadow Master, he separated the poison sac, the pincers, and the shells from the giant scorpions and stored them in his inventory. Once the corpses were swallowed by the dungeon, he also stored the mana stones that appeared in their place.
After only a couple of battles, Anton already felt a little tired. Given that each of the battles took a while to complete, it was a little understandable. Since it was already noon anyway, Anton decided to eat lunch and take a break for several minutes. He retrieved his tiny home from his inventory, summoned his minions, and then took a bath. Then he ate lunch. After that, he decided to lie down for several minutes, but soon, without intending to, he fell asleep.
Anton woke up after a couple of hours. He was surprised at himself for falling asleep. He guessed he must have been more tired than he knew. When he checked the time, he realized how long his nap was, but Anton just simply shrugged. He felt that it was alright for him not to pressure himself too much. As long as he could complete the floor, it was fine even if it took longer.
He stored his tiny home and then dispelled his summons. He kept the five Ravens and the five Spirit Wolves as his scouts, and to trigger the traps, if there were any on this floor.
He commanded the summons to move ahead, and after a while, Anton flew after them. He was expecting that monsters based on desert animals would ambush the Spirit Wolves again because that was how it had been with the giant worm and the giant scorpions.
Basically, Anton knew that the reason there were no traps on this floor was that the monsters would ambush the adventurers instead. Of course, that was just his supposition and was not set in stone.
This time, though, Anton knew that the next monsters that he would have to deal with were something that would not ambush his wolves because his ravens reported seeing something peculiar hanging in one of the protruding high rocks in the distance. When he used one of the raven’s eyes to view what it was, he realized that it was a gigantic wasp nest.
He could see some of the wasps flying in and out of the nest. The insects were as big as a six-month-old baby. Individually, Anton felt that the wasps were a little small to be dangerous, but since they were insects, their strength was in their numbers. There might be thousands or tens of thousands of them, and even an Elephant could be brought down by ants if there were enough of them.
Anton paused a bit to think of what strategy to devise to fight against the wasps. After a couple of minutes, he couldn’t think of any, but just soldiered on and used his spells to fight it out with the insects. Besides, his specialty was casting area of effect spells.
The first thing Anton did was to summon all of his summons and then readied them in front of him. Once he was in range to cast the spell Meteor, but was still a little far to be detected by the wasps, Anton cast the said spell one after the other. He wanted to open the battle, with him dealing severe damage to the dungeon wasps first.
Several flaming meteors came out of the sky and bombarded the huge wasp's nest. The nests got destroyed and fell from the rock where it was hanging. Thousands of still-alive wasps came out of the nest that was now on fire, and one particularly large one. The large wasp was a big as a horse and Anton knew that it was the queen.
The wasp army and its queen finally noticed Anton and his summons and started flying towards their location. He commanded his summons to meet the wasp queen and her army while he started casting curses at the thousands of wasps that were coming to them.
When Anton was sure that the whole army of insects was covered by his curses, he started casting his area of effect spells. He started with the Druid spells, Hurricane, Armageddon, and Volcano, then he cast the Sorceress spells Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Chain Lightning, and several Hydras.
Anton was hugely surprised when the wasp queen ignored the summons and headed directly to him. He knew that the monsters on the lower floor were supposed to be intelligent, but the fact that the wasp queen wanted to engage shocked him a little.
The wasps were extremely fast, especially the queen, but Anton could teleport. He simply teleported away from the queen and bombarded the leader of the wasps with spells. He first cursed the queen using the Necromancer’s curses, then cast the Lightning spell to stagger the queen, followed by the Frozen Orb spell. He wanted the orb to explode inside the queen since the damage would be greater that way.
It was a success since when the wasp queen was hit by the lightning spell, she paused a little, then the Frozen Orb hit her and exploded inside her, causing massive damage. All the other wasps suddenly became extremely agitated and started flying towards their queen.
Anton simply teleported away because even he was wary of being torn to pieces by the wasp queen’s army.
The wasp queen must have commanded her army to attack Anton because suddenly, the insects formed like a river that headed towards him. Anton flew backwards while hitting the wasps with Frozen Orbs one after the other.
Unfortunately, the only ones of his minions who could attack the wasps were the Valkyrie, using bow and arrow, and the ravens. Still, Anton’s hit-and-run tactic seemed to work because, with him flying backwards while hitting the insects with Frozen Orbs to damage and slow them down, caused a lot of them to fall.
The wasp queen probably did something because the wasps stopped following Anton and formed a wall in front of him. Then they started flinging stingers at him. Since there were a large number of them, it looked to Anton that the wasps suddenly drew their guns and started shooting bullets at him.
