Anton saw that the white curtain that they would be using as the projector screen was pristine enough for his purpose, but it was slightly fluttering from the wind.
“Mr. Jenkins, can you put something heavy beneath the white curtain so it will not flutter about. I need it to remain very still.”
The butler nodded and worked on Anton’s suggestion immediately with the help of some people. He also had seen Ronia activating four Frozen Orb air conditioners statuettes located at the back to make sure that the hall ballroom was comfortably cool.
Anton inspected the chairs and found that they were comfortable. He really had to commend Ronia and Ms. Orwells for the furniture they had selected. Not only were they tastefully elegant, but they did not neglect the comfort of the people who would be using them.
At around six in the evening, he saw the three guests that he had invited arrive, who were the interior decorator, Ms. Orwells, Anton’s elven point of contact from the Adventurer Guild in the Balathar Dungeon, Elianah, and the property agent who sold him the Rose Manor. He approached them immediately. Ms. Elianah was accompanied by another elf girl who looked like her but was younger, at around thirteen or fourteen. Of course, Anton wasn’t sure about the young elf’s age since he didn’t know if the elves in this world were immortal, just like the elves in the myths on Earth.
The property agent, Timothy Mondraz, was accompanied by a portly woman and two young children at around eight years old to twelve years old.
“Ms. Orwells, Ms. Elianah, and Mr. Mondraz, thank you for coming.”
“Of course, we’re going to come. Your butler, Mr. Jenkins, informed us that we were the only ones invited to this unique play event that you’re hosting,” Mr. Mondraz said.
“You don’t mind that I brought my little sister with me? Her name is Laloniah,” Elianah said, then she introduced her sister.
“Of course, I don’t mind. You’re all welcome. Good evening, Ms. Laloniah, my name is Anton,” He introduced himself to Elianah’s sister.
“I also brought with me my wife, Rhonda, and my children, Timothy II, my son, and Rebecca, my daughter,” Timothy Mondraz said.
“Again, I don’t mind, and thank you so much for coming. Ms. Orwells, thank you for coming as well. We will be starting in a few minutes. In the meantime, you can go ahead and partake in some of the food and drinks from that table.”
“Of course I’m coming. I’m currently staying in the manor since my job here is not done yet,” Ms. Orwells said.
Anton left his guests to inspect the rest of the room. He wanted to make sure that the first movie experience that would happen in the manor would be comfortable. He had already chosen the movie for that night, which was the film The Princess Bride. He wondered if he should have selected a more visually stunning movie with a lot more CGI effects. When he thought about it again, Anton simply shrugged and would just go on with it. Besides, this was not the only movie viewing that would happen in the manor.
As a matter of fact, after this film ended, he would ask Mr. Jenkins to establish a permanent movie viewing room in the manor.
Anton saw that all the people who would be seeing the movie that night had arrived. At around fifteen minutes before seven, he went to the front and invited everyone to sit on the chairs.
“Before the show started, I wanted to inform all of you that this play would last for one hour and forty minutes. I recommend that before the movie starts, please go ahead and go to the toilet to relieve yourselves, so you don’t have to miss out on anything in case the call of nature happens in the middle of the movie. I also recommend that you bring some of the snacks and drinks with you, located at the table behind. I find it personally appealing to eat while watching these types of shows. Halfway through the movie, I will pause it for around five minutes so those of you who want to relieve yourselves can go ahead and do so. The show will start at exactly seven in the evening.”
He joined his guests seated at the front, but when he sat down, all of them decided to go to the toilet to better prepare themselves to watch the long show. At exactly seven in the evening, Anton activated his Globe of Browser Sharing, asked the butler to turn off almost all of the lights, and then he started the movie.
Halfway through the film, Anton paused the movie and asked Mr. Jenkins to turn on all the lights. He then went to the front.
“We’re halfway through the film. After five minutes, the show will continue, so during the break, you can go to the toilet or get more food from the snack table.”
Those who wanted to go to the toilet went, and those who wanted more food retrieved some from the table. The rest remained on their seats and started talking about the film. Elianah and her sister were some of the ones who remained in their seat and started asking him questions.
“The play is wonderful! It’s as if we’re gods looking at the lives of these people. How were these done?” Laloniah excitedly asked Anton.
Elianah and Mr. Mondraz’s children, who remained in their seats, were also looking at Anton expectantly.
“The characters on the show are actors, just like those actors you can see in theater plays. Their actions and words were created by scriptwriters and the director. The world that this show, which is called a “movie,” is different from ours. Their technology with regard to creating such shows is decades more advanced than ours, and they have almost perfected their craft. I have a spell that allowed me to retrieve these movies and show them to others.”
“So you have a lot more of these plays or movies, as you call them?” Elianah asked.
“Yes. Thousands upon thousands of movies of different genres like love stories, adventures, horror, fantasy, and more. When my family left Rendindura because it was being conquered by the Undead Coalition, we first thought of opening a business that would show these movies, but then tragedy happened to our ship, and that plan was put on hold. My little family is currently focused on trying our best to make ourselves stronger. I’m currently delving into the dungeon, and my father, who is retrieving some of our family members from New Drennor, has formed an adventurer group and will do the same. My sister is currently studying in one of Ormunda’s magic academies under the tutelage of a Supreme Wizard.”
Elianah’s sister and Timothy Mondraz’s children seemed to have more questions, but the break was over. Anton continued playing the film. After the movie ended, Anton went to the front again.
“Thank you for watching the movie with me. I hope you enjoyed it,” Anton said, and everyone clapped.
He joined his guest, who lavished praise on the film that he had shown, which, of course, was expected. They then asked if he had plans to show another movie. Anton told them that he would be busy during the next couple of weeks delving into the dungeon, but informed them that once he decided to show another film, he would invite them.
After the guests left and all the other manor people went to their rooms to rest, Anton, Mr. Jenkin, Ms. Noria, Ronia, and Torbin remained to talk.
