Chapter 2 The Next Day

The next morning, after a quick wash, Lin En ate breakfast and packed up the wooden house, ready for his first excavation of the day.

He’d already seen crabs scuttling sideways across the beach early in the morning. Yesterday, Lin En had tried to put them in his backpack, but it was impossible. Even cooked, they wouldn't fit.

He approached the stone wall and patted it, asking, "Stone wall, stone wall, are you awake?"

East Stone Wall: "…Stop patting me. I'm awake."

East Stone Wall: "Why wake me up so early? Can't I sleep?"

"The early bird gets the worm! Don't just think about sleeping all the time. I have something to ask you," Lin En said, leaning against the stone wall and looking at the sea.

East Stone Wall: "What is it?"

Lin En gazed at the ocean and asked, "Are there stone walls on the other side of the sea? I can only see the endless ocean. I don't see any stone walls."

East Stone Wall: "You mean the other side of the sea? It's normal that you don't see stone walls. We're not even part of the same system."

*Not part of the same system?* Lin En was immediately curious.

Lin En quickly asked, "Not part of the same system? How many systems are there? And what should I do if I want to explore the sea?"

East Stone Wall: "Systems? There are many. I'm not sure about the others, but I know of three. One is the stone wall system, like us. Another is the wind wall system on the sea. And I've only seen the last one once, in the sky, made of white clouds, soft-looking. I only saw it once where they touched."

East Stone Wall: "I'm not sure about the cloud wall in the sky, but for the wind wall on the sea, you need a Wind-Fixing Pearl (Ding Feng Zhu) to travel across it."

"Wind-Fixing Pearl? How do I get a Wind-Fixing Pearl?" Lin En asked, puzzled.

East Stone Wall: "You have a chance to get it from treasure chests that appear on the beach."

*I see.* Lin En didn't ask any more questions. He took out his pickaxe and prepared to start digging, but out of habit, he asked one more question before starting.

There were fierce beasts behind it? Lin En paused, then started digging. There was no other choice. Only the East Stone Wall could be mined. The South and North Stone Walls were probably connected to the sea and couldn't be mined.

Ding~ Ding~ Ding~~

Looking at the faint white fog wall, Lin En took out the Mist Bow and carefully walked in.

As soon as he entered, Lin En saw the fierce beast. It was a spider-like creature, but much larger.

Lin En stealthily hid and watched the spider weaving its web on a tree. Glancing at the nearly completed web, Lin En drew the Mist Bow and began to gather power.

About half a minute later, the spider web was finally finished. The spider ran up into the treetop and hid.

Seeing the spider finally stop moving, he shot the Mist Arrow that had been charged for so long. Lin En would confidently say that he was 100% sure to hit a motionless spider.

Bang~~~

He watched the spider fall from the tree, silently watching it struggle. After a while, it stopped moving. But looking at its large, red eyes, Lin En added another arrow.

After the system notification appeared, Lin En cautiously walked over. Approaching the spider, what could he say? It was a giant spider magnified countless times, making his skin crawl just looking at it.

After choosing to decompose it, Lin En looked at the system notifications to see what he got. *Huh?*

Lin En conjured the Homeland Wooden House and rushed to the monster space. The first thing he saw was the huge monster egg, which immediately caught his attention.

Looking at the half-meter-high monster egg, Lin En picked it up and walked towards the monster nest.

Entering the monster nest, Lin En realized there were only two slots. After placing the egg, he opened the stats panel to check.

The effects of the monster nest are pretty good. It reduced the original 5 days by two days, nearly a third of the time.

Watching the hatching time slowly decrease, Lin En left the nest and went to the monster plaza. What did the other monster leave behind? A glance swept over everything until he saw something and walked over.

Getting closer, he saw a black, unassuming thing, about the size of a pomelo. Lin En picked it up and opened his backpack to check the description.

*Holy crap, what a treasure!* Lin En happily carried the fruit out of the monster plaza.

But wasn't he forgetting something? He couldn't remember??? *Oh well, if he can't remember, it probably isn't a big deal.*

He went to the kitchen, cut the fruit in half with a knife. The flesh was red and tasted a bit like mangosteen, sweet and sour, not bad.

After continuously mining four dungeons, Lin En looked at the wooden treasure chest in front of him, feeling somewhat depressed. What was going on today? The best thing he found in four dungeons was actually a wooden treasure chest? And a small one at that.

He opened the treasure chest and prepared to take a break.
