Chapter 1672: Chapter 1672: Life and Death Arena

Carson Flores blinked and found himself inside a stone chamber, large and empty.

Behind Carson stood a Light Gate, from which June Weiss and Mona Briggs emerged, curiously and excitedly surveying their surroundings.

Carson frowned because he didn’t see any door leading elsewhere.

The map and Token were both effective, indicating this Cave Mansion hadn’t been opened before. So what was such a vast space meant for?

The Light Gate fluctuated, and gradually more silhouettes stepped through, men and women, with dozens entering in the blink of an eye.

These people, young and old, all had their eyes fixed on Carson.

“Fellow Daoist, was it you who found this Cave Mansion and opened the door?”

Carson spread his hands: “That question seems irrelevant now. If I say yes, would you take nothing and let me take everything?”

Everyone looked at each other, immediately thinking Carson made a lot of sense!

Since we’re all here, even if you opened the door, so what?

A middle-aged man in blue from the crowd responded: “Opportunities are destined for those with fate. Since everyone is here, it naturally follows that each should rely on their strength to seize their own opportunities, right?”

A large group of people immediately agreed and echoed these sentiments.

“Yes, what you get depends on your ability!”

“Rely on our abilities!”

“Makes sense!”

Some around them countered: “The one speaking is from the Mountain Ridge Monarchy Sect, right? You have the most people here. Do you plan to use your numbers to monopolize all the benefits here?”

Upon hearing this, everyone instantly distanced themselves from the disciples in blue from the Mountain Ridge Monarchy Sect, thus splitting into two groups. One group consisted of Mountain Ridge Monarchy Sect disciples, making up about a third of all people present, while the rest were scattered cultivators from various Sects, comprising two-thirds.

Carson, along with June Weiss and Mona Briggs, stepped back a few paces, standing with the loose cultivators.

Many noticed Carson’s movements, but nobody paid much attention.

As Carson had stated, now that the Cave Mansion’s door was open, no one would target Carson specifically; it was about everyone’s own ability now, with the obvious adversary being the Mountain Ridge Monarchy Sect members defending this place.

The blue-clad man who had spoken earlier furrowed his brow slightly. He had indeed been instructed by his Sect’s higher-ups to lead other Sect’s disciples and seize everything of value in the Cave Mansion.

Although there were powerful Sect members guarding outside, the Golden Immortals could not pass through the Light Gate. Considering the number entering, they would be at a disadvantage if a fight broke out.

He turned to look around, then said in a deep voice: “The place is empty, and whether there are things inside is still unknown. If we end up fighting fiercely here and shedding blood only to find nothing, wouldn’t that be a joke?”

The crowd thought for a moment and agreed. Even if fighting or competing, they needed to see something first.

Moreover, with Mountain Ridge Monarchy Sect’s powerful members guarding outside, what would happen if they killed its members and couldn’t escape later?

“But there’s not even a door here, where can we go?”

“Do we have to break through walls?”

“Let’s search first, see if there’s a hidden passage?”

The crowd temporarily set aside hostilities and began searching for possible paths.

The blue-clad man breathed a sigh of relief and whispered his instructions: “Don’t act yet; when we discover treasures, act together. You will help block others, and I will focus on seizing the treasures. Once successful, everyone will be credited; Cultivation Techniques can be practiced by all, and treasures will be converted into Sect achievements!”

“Yes!”

The blue-clad man waved his hand: “Search, see if there’s any discovery.”

The crowd spread out, searching every vacant area thoroughly, yet found nothing.

“What does this mean, it’s completely empty?”

“Could someone have come in first and moved everything out?”

“That would be too clean, impossible!”

In a corner, June Weiss asked softly: “What do we do now?”

Carson shook his head: “No rush, let’s watch first.”

Just then, as everyone was bewildered, a voice suddenly echoed in the vast chamber.

“I am Clayton Gross from the North Star Immortal Domains. Having stolen the North Star Immortal Domains’ top-tier Sun True Scripture, I was pursued and met my end here, leaving behind a Remnant Soul, waiting for those destined.”

Everyone was elated, looking around but finding no source of the voice.

“Cultivating the Sun True Scripture requires tremendous willpower, deep fortune, and a strong physique. There is only one chance, so only one will obtain it. To gain this opportunity, you must pass the challenges I set, overcoming the Mortal Challenge.”

“The location you’re in is the first stage of my Mortal Challenge, the arena.”

Arena?

Carson raised an eyebrow, this guy seemed to be stirring up trouble!

Sure enough, the next second, the old voice carried a sharp killing intent: “Kill a third of those present, and the door to the next stage will open, or else you will be trapped here forever!”
