Chapter 1682: Chapter 1682: The Dagger Revealed
The sudden upheaval shocked everyone.
What happened?
Wasn’t the Immortal supposed to teach him the Sun True Scripture? Why did he suddenly kill him?
Carson Flores abruptly stood up and shouted, "Refinement of Essence Blood, you’re a Blood Cultivator of the Alchemy Path!"
Clayton Gross tossed the Blood Beads directly into his mouth and gave a sinister smile to the horrified crowd.
"Surprised? Caught off guard?"
Beckett Compton, whose Sea of Consciousness was sealed on the ground, screamed in terror, "This was all a trap you set up! You lured us in just to refine and consume our Essence Blood!"
Clayton swallowed the Blood Beads, the redness on his face deepened, showing an unusually satisfied expression as he laughed, "Otherwise, I risked my life to steal the Sun True Scripture, and you could just stroll in and obtain the results I traded my life for? Is that fair?"
Clayton’s face suddenly turned fiercely grim: "The True Solar Fire is here, the Sun True Scripture is here too. If you want them, exchange your lives for them. If you kill me, everything is yours. If not, you’ll pay with your lives and become my sustenance!"
The crowd’s expressions changed drastically, fear evident in their eyes.
"Is it really so? He actually said it right."
Aiden Roth stood up from the ground, with a serious look on his face, yet also with a trace of luck.
If he had continued to participate fiercely in the blood battle, fighting with full force, even if he emerged victorious, he wouldn’t have fared much better than that True Immortal who was directly obliterated.
Although faced with an extremely formidable opponent now, he still retained his strength and methods and had the power to fight. After all, this guy, although a Heavenly Immortal, was now physically damaged, his strength impaired, so there was still a chance.
Clayton’s expression froze. He turned to stare at Aiden Roth: "What did you say? Who was right?"
Aiden nodded his chin towards Carson: "You think he doesn’t really care about the True Solar Fire, or the Sun True Scripture? He guessed from the first phase that everything here was a trap, and we were the prey you lured in, so he’s been conserving his strength."
"He already guessed you were either a Primordial Spirit looking for a vessel to possess or that your body was damaged, and wanted our flesh and blood as nourishment to recover..."
"If I guessed it right, you did genuinely steal the Sun True Scripture and were truly hunted, but you didn’t die at the hands of your pursuers. Instead, you used some special method to make them think you were dead."
"Although you avoided death, you also suffered severe injuries and fell into a near-death state. You laid out all of this, waiting for us to come knocking so you could use our flesh and blood to recover..."
Clayton looked at Carson, then at Aiden, suddenly laughed: "Impressive! I originally thought it was a pile of trash, but didn’t expect two smart ones among you. Unfortunately, even if you know the truth, what can you do?"
"If all of you joined forces earlier, I might have worried about not being able to take you all down. But now there are only four of you left to fight, three True Immortals and one Earth Immortal. What good is your cleverness?"
"Even though my body is damaged and I can’t use full force, I was once a Peak Heavenly Immortal. I’ve already absorbed all the Essence Blood and elixirs in the first room, restoring some power. Dealing with you now is no trouble at all!"
Carson stared at Clayton and said, "You let the four of us leave, and we won’t interfere with you. If you don’t agree, we will fight you to the death, and you may not prevail."
Clayton sneered and suddenly pulled out a Token, slashing it casually.
A light dot flew out, rapidly expanded, forming a Light Gate.
"Fine, I indeed do not wish to fight you. After all, I’ve painstakingly absorbed some blood food and do not want to waste it. With so many True Immortals here, it’s already enough for me to enjoy. You four, scram."
Carson didn’t move, nor did Aiden.
Clayton frowned: "Why aren’t you leaving? Want to stay and die?"
Carson calmly said, "We don’t want to leave, but this Light Gate doesn’t lead outside, so how can we leave?"
Aiden sneered: "Do you take us for three-year-olds, easily deceived? You’re just afraid we’d interfere with your absorption of their Essence Blood, so you opened a Teleportation Gate to send us elsewhere, perhaps the room from the first phase, to lock us up. Then, after you’ve absorbed everyone else’s Essence Blood here, greatly increasing your power, you’d come to deal with us, to absorb our Essence Blood?"
Clayton’s expression changed slightly; he didn’t expect these two guys to be so smart, completely seeing through his plan.
Clayton waved his hand, shut the Light Gate, and sneered: "I gave you a chance, but you refuse. Then die with them."
Aiden’s eyes glowed with a hidden excitement: "Now I suddenly want your True Solar Fire and Sun True Scripture!"
Clayton sneered: "Just based on you, a True Immortal?"
Aiden’s expression turned eager: "If you hadn’t opened that Light Gate, I might’ve actually been afraid I couldn’t be your opponent. But you opened it, trying to trick us elsewhere, which shows you’re not absolutely confident in dealing with us... Carson, let’s join forces and kill him, and then we’ll discuss how to split!"
