Chapter 647: Chapter 647 Fu Rongyin: "Not getting a divorce, hmm?
Instead, Chi Yue said reassuringly, "It’s exactly what you’re thinking, you can take a look before you decide."
No sooner had she finished speaking than the space in front of her cleared, and a few couples came up to dance.
By this time, Nan Bingyu was no fool and knew exactly what was happening, especially since this dance was the first dance she had with Xi Yihang after he lost his memory.
Nan Bingyu watched the dance floor with her chin held high, waiting for that person to appear.
Truth be told, among her many suitors, Xi Yihang was the first who wanted to keep her by his side, but she was used to her freedom and refused to be tied down by anyone.
Finally, Xi Yihang appeared, but not among the crowd; he was behind her.
Without warning, Nan Bingyu was lifted up and, amid the crowd, she was surrounded and taken onto the stage. It was at that moment when Nan Bingyu’s photographs appeared on the big screen.
Nan Bingyu was truly surprised; where did Xi Yihang get so many of her pictures after having lost his memories, seeing as they didn’t meet that often?
She didn’t quite catch what Xi Yihang said, as her gaze was fixed on Chi Yue below the stage.
Upon seeing Nan Bingyu lifted onto the stage, Chi Yue understood her choice, and thus stopped looking.
She walked onto the street, heading home along the roadway.
Steady footsteps followed her, but Chi Yue did not engage, relishing the rare quiet of the night.
What she forgot, though, was that this road led not only to the Chi Family’s house but also to No.1 Bay.
As she reached the entrance to No.1 Bay, Chi Yue was abruptly grabbed.
She turned sharply, only to be pulled into Fu Rongyin’s embrace. His voice came from above her head, "Fu Xingchuan is following us."
Chi Yue looked back at the road and indeed saw Fu Xingchuan’s car.
She had not yet decided what to do when Fu Rongyin, holding her tight, suddenly turned a corner and led her into No.1 Bay.
Initially, Chi Yue thought Fu Rongyin just wanted to bring her inside to avoid Fu Xingchuan, but as she was led toward the elevator in his arms, she realized something was amiss.
She broke free from his grasp, "He should have left by now, I should go back."
Chi Yue turned to leave, but Fu Rongyin’s deep voice came from behind her, "If you go out now, he’ll be right there waiting. Are you sure you want to leave?"
Chi Yue paused in her tracks.
Fu Rongyin continued, "You can take the risk, but if he is out there, all you’ve done so far would have been for nothing."
Chi Yue frowned deeply, yet her feet did not move.
Fu Rongyin grasped her wrist and gently drew her into his arms, escorting her into the elevator.
Chi Yue was both angry and anxious, "Fu Rongyin, it seems like you’re up to no good!"
It wasn’t that she was particularly afraid of Fu Xingchuan discovering that her relationship with Fu Rongyin was just a pretense; she just disliked complications and welcomed a conclusive solution.
Fu Rongyin didn’t answer her; instead, he held her wrist and switched to holding her hand, his long fingers casually stroking her palm.
Chi Yue was fuming yet unable to withdraw her hand, watching helplessly as she was led through the door and pinned against the door panel.
In a daze, Chi Yue remembered the times she had humbled herself for him. Although it was tough, at least her heart was still her own, unlike now when she didn’t even have the right to divorce.
Her thoughts were interrupted by his collision, and she heard him whisper in her ear, "Not divorcing, hmm?"
Chi Yue snapped to attention, "It’s impossible not to divorce, Fu Rongyin; we can’t go back to the way we were."
Never going back there again.
Fu Rongyin left a punishing bite on her shoulder, "If we divorce, what will I do? Yueyue, I won’t let you go..."
