Chapter 663: Chapter 663: Settling Accounts at the Doorstep
Chi Yue pursed her lips, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She didn’t say anything further and gently patted her back.
Only half a month was left until the one-month agreement, and what would happen then was unpredictable.
But with Fu Mianmian like this, should she just settle and continue with him for the sake of the child?
Chi Yue sank into deep thought.
She didn’t see that the man in the driver’s seat glanced at her several times through the rearview mirror, his eyes growing darker and darker, his thoughts unknown.
After dropping Chi Yue and Fu Mianmian off at their home, Fu Rongyin didn’t even get out of the car before he said he was leaving again.
"Wait a moment." Chi Yue called out to him, handed Fu Mianmian over to Chi Jianshan, and slid into the passenger seat.
Fu Rongyin frowned, "What are you doing up here?"
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"What, must I report my whereabouts to you?" he replied.
Chi Yue looked at him, "If you’re going to see Fu Xingchuan, take me with you."
Fu Rongyin seemed surprised, but soon he said, "I’m not going, get out of the car."
Chi Yue didn’t move, "Fu Rongyin, I can’t tolerate what Fu Xingchuan has done. Regardless of whether what he said was right, running to a child and spewing nonsense about someone else’s family matters is wrong. At the very least, I need to make a statement."
"Make a statement? What do you plan to do?"
"You’ll know if you take me there," she retorted.
Fu Rongyin glanced at her deeply, then, without another word, started the car and drove away.
Fu Family.
Fu Xingchuan lay on the couch as if boneless, still holding his cellphone and playing games.
Fu Runan was right beside him, trying desperately to persuade him to start from the ground up at the company, to no avail.
Fu Runan lost his temper, "With you acting like this, even if you eventually take over the company, do you think others will respect you?"
"Whether they respect me or not, what does it have to do with me?" he retorted.
"How can it not matter? If they don’t respect you, you won’t have people to work with, how will you manage in the company?"
Fu Xingchuan’s words infuriated Fu Runan even more.
He said, "When the time comes and the company is mine, if they don’t like it, they can leave. This job isn’t something only they can do, right?"
Fu Runan was so angry he nearly fainted from rage; he picked up a duster and was about to swing it at Fu Xingchuan when Fu Rongyin and Chi Yue arrived.
Upon hearing their names, Fu Runan thought he had misheard, confirming it twice before letting someone invite them in.
"Ah Yin~"
Fu Runan was somewhat excited.
Years had passed, and this was Fu Rongyin’s first time coming back home.
"It’s good you’re back, good you’re back. Your mother was at fault before, I’ve already talked to her, as long as you are willing to come back, even if there’s no blood relation, you can return to the original..."
"No need." Fu Rongyin coldly cut him off, "I’m here for him."
With that, he strode over, grabbed Fu Xingchuan by the collar from the couch.
Fu Xingchuan started to feel afraid the moment Fu Rongyin grabbed his collar, especially because not long ago, Fu Rongyin had thrown him against a wall. The fear hadn’t subsided yet.
But he hadn’t done anything outrageous; why had Fu Rongyin come for him again?
As he was thinking this, Fu Xingchuan was dragged to the front yard and thrown onto the lawn. Fu Rongyin accurately picked up a wooden stick from beside the flowerbed and approached him.
Fu Xingchuan’s heart raced at his actions.
He’d been living here so long and didn’t even know about that stick, how had Fu Rongyin known?
As Fu Rongyin was about to reach him, Fu Xingchuan instinctively looked towards Chi Yue, whose expression was even colder than Fu Rongyin’s.
