Chapter 665: Chapter 665: Turning the Tables

Throughout the journey, silence prevailed, and the atmosphere inside the car grew steadily heavier.

Chi Yue tried to speak several times, but each time, the sight of his expression made her swallow her words.

Some hurts aren’t easily talked away.

And that was how it was between her and Fu Rongyin; the damage had been done, and no matter how she tried to make amends, they could never go back to how things were at the beginning.

This silence continued into the deep night, with Chi Yue tossing and turning, her back to Fu Rongyin.

The light was still on on Fu Rongyin’s side, and when Chi Yue turned over, she peeked through a slit of her eyes. She saw him reclining against the headboard, lying stiffly in a way that made it unclear if he was asleep or not, from her angle.

But based on what she knew of him, Fu Rongyin never slept like that.

Chi Yue found sleep even more elusive, so she got up and went to the restroom to wash her face before returning.

She didn’t go back to her half of the bed but instead squeezed into Fu Rongyin’s side, lifting the covers and sliding in.

Fu Rongyin looked up at her, and she tried to push him over a bit, to no avail, "Can you scoot over a little?"

Fu Rongyin didn’t respond.

Chi Yue, afraid of falling out of the bed, wrapped her arms around his waist. With such little space, any movement he made would surely send her tumbling, so she flipped over, draping herself on top of him.

At the moment when their bodies fit tightly together, Chi Yue could clearly feel Fu Rongyin’s body tense up.

Chi Yue didn’t care; she lay on top of him and closed her eyes.

Nan Bingyu had once told her that one of the benefits between adult men and women is that most conflicts can be resolved through physical contact.

She didn’t understand it before, but now she felt it deeply.

She sought a sense of security from him, and in the same way, she sought to fill the void in his heart in her own way.

Perhaps because he was so reassuring, Chi Yue quickly drifted off towards sleep.

Suddenly, without warning, she slid off Fu Rongyin.

Chi Yue’s eyes flew open, a moment of bewilderment passing over her face.

Fu Rongyin spoke up, a rare occurrence, "If you’re going to sleep, then sleep properly."

With that, he lay down as well.

Chi Yue blinked and climbed back on top of him, gripping his waist tightly, and muttered, "I’m sleeping properly now."

The man’s hands once again covered hers, attempting to pull her off.

Just then, Chi Yue suddenly looked up, her lips pressing against his chin and slowly moving upwards.

Fu Rongyin became still, and Chi Yue’s hands climbed up to his shoulders.

Chi Yue knew you were here

As she went about her actions, she mumbled unclearly, "Fu Rongyin, if you push me away again, I may not have the courage to continue what I’m doing now."

Fu Rongyin watched her for a long time, so long that Chi Yue thought her seductive gamble was going to fail, but he suddenly turned the tables, seizing the initiative.

Chi Yue rarely initiated, but every time she did, he would go further than her, and this time was no exception.

Finally, utterly exhausted, Fu Rongyin carried her to the bathroom to clean up.

Back in bed, as soon as Chi Yue’s head touched the pillow, her eyelids refused to stay open.

In a daze, she felt something being slipped onto her finger.

The next day, Chi Yue discovered a diamond ring on her hand.

She examined it closely, finding it familiar but unable to recall where she had seen it before.

Fu Mianmian was downstairs hurrying her along, and after Chi Yue got ready, she remembered they were supposed to visit Nan Bingyu’s home that day.

Fu Rong was nowhere to be seen in the house, and just as Chi Yue and Fu Mianmian were about to leave, Fu Rong returned.

To her surprise, Fu Rong announced that he would accompany her to Nan Bingyu’s.
