Chapter 794: Chapter 794: Chi Yue’s face turned ashen, “Shameless!

Chi Yue no longer knew how to describe her emotions.

The lawyer, seeing her expression, coughed lightly, “Reportedly, the other party has provided hospital treatment receipts, as well as detailed inpatient bills, the evidence is conclusive and very disadvantageous for us.”

Chi Yue’s face turned ashen, and she gritted her teeth, “Shameless!”

They truly stop at nothing, not hesitating to curse themselves in order to gain sympathy.

The lawyer agreed with her sentiment.

If they had any shame, they wouldn’t do such things.

Chi Yue calmed down and said to the lawyer, “Please continue to monitor their actions, I won’t give up on divorcing him.”

“I’ll continue collecting evidence in our favor.”

Chi Yue nodded, “Thanks for the trouble.”

Her hopes dashed, Chi Yue walked out of the law firm, looking listless.

But she wouldn’t give up, believing she would eventually succeed in getting a divorce.

The phone in her bag rang, and Chi Yue answered. Chi Jianshan’s voice, trembling with fear, came through, “Yueyue, Mianmian… she… she’s been in a car accident!”

Chi Yue stood there stunned, like a thunderclap had just struck. The phone slipped from her hand without her noticing.

The lawyer, coming out with his documents, saw this scene and hurriedly approached, “Miss Chi? Miss Chi?”

Chi Yue abruptly turned, grabbed the lawyer’s sleeve, “Take me to the hospital, quickly, quickly…”

The lawyer picked up her phone and handed it to her, striding towards his car. “Get in, quickly.”

En route to the hospital, Chi Yue appeared composed, but her tense body betrayed her unrest.

Upon reaching the hospital, she pushed open the car door and ran inside, stopping only when she reached the emergency room door.

Chi Jianshan was squatting by the wall. Seeing her, his voice shook, “Yueyue…”

Chi Yue had thought it was a minor accident but as she approached and saw the bloodstains on Chi Jianshan’s body, darkness clouded her vision, and she fell straight to the ground.

As her consciousness faded, she still heard her own voice, “Whose blood is this?”

When Chi Yue woke up, she was lying in a hospital bed, an IV drip in her arm.

The hospital room was empty; neither Chi Jianshan nor Fu Mianmian was there.

Chi Yue removed the needle from her arm and got out of bed, staggering over to the emergency room door.

The previously deserted entrance now had two more people in addition to Chi Jianshan.

Fu Rongyin was inquiring about the situation from Chi Jianshan. Catching sight of Chi Yue approaching, he quickly stepped in front of her, “How are you feeling?”

Chi Yue acted as if she hadn’t seen him, walking past him to stand in front of Chi Jianshan, her voice barely audible after several attempts, “Where’s Mianmian?”

Clad in bloodstained clothing, Chi Jianshan said, “Why did you come here? The doctor said you needed…”

“Where’s Mianmian?” she continued to ask.

Chi Jianshan’s eyes were bloodshot as he looked towards the closed door, “Mianmian… she’s still inside.”

Chi Yue’s complexion turned ever paler, and her gaze fell on him, “Whose blood is that on you?”

Chi Jianshan, not wanting to upset her further, replied, “It’s not Mianmian’s. Don’t worry, Mianmian will be okay.”

Chi Yue seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, but her tone betrayed her current state, her voice trembling again, “How could Mianmian be in an accident? Wasn’t she always at home?”

“It’s… my fault,” Chi Jianshan covered his head in agony, “For some reason, Mianmian suddenly came and asked me if we were going to file for divorce, I didn’t think of an answer and… she just ran out… It’s all my fault, I didn’t hold on to her…”

Chi Yue’s legs gave way beneath her, and she collapsed to the floor. A force behind her caught her just in time, cushioning her fall.

The familiar scent, she knew without even looking who it was behind her.
