Chapter 1128: 684

Chapter 1128: Chapter 684

The thunder and ice utilized by Eryao were already formidable. Demonic beasts not only feared the cold but were even more terrified of thunder and lightning. The former Sect Master of the Invincible Sect, and their Ghost Formation, could no longer be put to use.

The Soul Banner was useless, and their Ghost Magical Treasures were ineffective. The evil techniques employed were also overwhelmed by the thunder and lightning!

Not only was the Invincible Sect restricted, but even the minions sent by the Demon King—Flying Demons and Sea Demons—were utterly afraid of thunder and lightning!

The two sides collaborated and had been battling Eryao all morning, suffering significant losses. By afternoon, Green Ox joined the fight!

This substantially increased the pressure on both sides. Before the arrival of reinforcements, and before the opposing party’s Magical Treasure with counterattack capabilities appeared, they had already suffered devastating losses!

The Invincible Sect was barely holding on. As humans, and as cunning pirates, they naturally adopted the strategy of sacrificing allies. They relied on the Flying Demons and Sea Demons sent by the Demon King as the main force in the battle. The combat was intense, and Flying Demons died in the greatest numbers.

Initially, as Flying Demons fell to the ground, the Sea Demons eagerly scavenged their remains. Excitedly, they not only stored food but also filled their bellies!

Gradually, the Sea Demons grew numb from eating. As fallen comrades hit the sea, they no longer had time to feast!

Amidst the thunder and lightning flashing in the skies, groups of Flying Demons fell dead, scorched into charred remains, crashing down onto the ocean’s surface!

Chunks of ice fell from the sky, followed by Green Ox’s fireball strikes and lightning shocks. The Sea Demons lurking on the ocean’s surface dared not show their heads. Fireballs hit the sea, melting the ice floating on the surface!

Ice chunks rained down, landing on the ocean and transforming into water!

The Demons on the sea and in the air suffered equally severe injuries!

The fireball attacks carried electricity, a nemesis to Demons. Around the areas where fireballs landed, electrical charges discharged into the sea, rendering the Sea Demons floating on the surface dizzy and helpless, unable to activate their Skills!

Their bodies began to float, exposed on the surface of the ocean, becoming even easier targets for subsequent attacks. Many Sea Demons were convulsing from electric shocks, ultimately reduced to lifeless Fish Demons.

In an instant, the sea was littered with struggling, half-dead Sea Demons!

In that moment, their deepest desire was to escape from the battlefield quickly, but their bodies were paralyzed. The electrified seawater combined with the fiery surface created hellish conditions, grilling them alive!

The Sea Demons that had rejoiced at devouring their comrades now found themselves turning into food for other fish!

A thick pile of Sea Demons—Demons who had come to resist the enemy—had now become freshly grilled fish!

The Demon King watched helplessly as his troops struggled within this chaotic sea of destruction, unable to break free!

From the skies, he saw his forces succumbing to the relentless electric shocks, falling batch after batch, causing his heart to ache!

It hadn’t even been a full day, yet nearly half of the troops he had dispatched were annihilated—without even scratching the enemy!

The Demon King felt regret. Why had he listened to the words of the Sect Master of the Invincible Sect?

This battlefield was turning into a death trap for his forces. Facing such formidable adversaries, he realized that continuing would lead to complete extinction of his troops. He fully understood that these opponents were tough and unyielding. If his losses continued to spiral, his position within the Demon Realm would be in jeopardy!

The Demon King was unwilling to accept this outcome. Unlike his predecessor, he harbored grand aspirations and a bold vision. However, in this offensive, none of those ambitions could be fulfilled; in fact, he risked annihilation!

The Demon King deeply feared that his enemies possessed more hidden trump cards. If these Demons were pursued further, the repercussions might strike at his very roots. He doubted whether he could withstand such foes; it wasn’t a lack of confidence—it was sheer self-preservation!

“Wu wu wu wu wu wu wu wu wu—”

The Demon King issued a retreat order. Others couldn’t decipher this signal’s meaning—Eryao and Green Ox were equally puzzled—perhaps due to the differing nature of Demonic species.

Even the Sect Master of the Invincible Sect couldn’t grasp the Demon King’s intention. He mistakenly thought the order meant reinforcements were coming!

The Sect Master and Elders grew increasingly panicked. Their collaborators had suffered tremendous losses; if those allies crumbled, their own forces would be doomed!

The Sect Master and Elders’ panic spread through the ranks, infecting the disciples with fear!

As the disciples relentlessly performed spells, having fought for hours, they had depleted far too much Spiritual Energy. Unable to rest, they could only resort to consuming Spiritual Medicine continuously!

Ordinary disciples, with their limited supply of medicine and inferior Magical Treasures, found themselves barely able to fight effectively. Their efforts against the enemies proved futile and left them drained!

They failed to inflict any meaningful damage on the enemies; their attacks repeatedly rebounded, preventing them from delivering the stacked attacks they desperately needed. Their hands were worn out, trembling with exhaustion!

The Demon King’s signal was ultimately to halt the advance of the remaining Demons and order a retreat. For those reckless Demons still charging forward, upon receiving the signal, those capable of retreat began withdrawing!

However, for those caught within the attack range of Eryao and Green Ox, their fate was sealed. They were bombarded by thunder, fireballs, ice blocks, and electricity—many fell lifelessly, roasted by flames, shocked to death, or burned alive!

The air was thick with the scent of medicine and roasted meat. The overwhelming aroma of cooked flesh could easily drive surrounding Demons to madness!

Though some Demons initially felt the urge to charge forward to feast, they soon realized that their opponents were far stronger than ordinary mortals—they were Divine Beasts. On top of that, they resembled the legendary Divine Dragon from Eastern tales, revered and feared by most Demons!

However, these Demons were servants of the Demon King, and he ruled over them as their Heavenly God, unlike the Eastern Divine Dragon that haunted their terrifying myths!
