796: Chapter 518 796: Chapter 518 Jiang Tang stood high above the small town, observing the sparse number of people on the streets, which were usually blanketed with snow.
It was mealtime.
The shops in the town were open too—pawnshops, inns, rice shops, tailor shops, jewelry stores, cosmetic stores, everyday necessity stores—all had customers inside their open doors.
It seemed someone had sensed something amiss; people rushed out of the shops, all of them darting from the stores or residential areas onto the streets.
These people all had blonde hair, high noses, and blue eyes, but their gaze was different from those ‘soulful’ ones seen before; their blue eyes emitted a green light.
Jiang Tang guessed that these humans were definitely the Demon People described by Ye Tian, the ones with green light in their eyes.
They looked rather alert, speaking some language with their eyes casting a chilling, green glow.
It appeared that these people weren’t versed in martial arts; their agility in movement was akin to Demonic Beasts, except they moved on two legs like Human Demons.
Jiang Tang…, human speak beast language?
Although he had gone to university in his previous life and knew English, he wasn’t fluent in all the languages of the world.
Moreover, in the Cultivation World’s neighboring countries, the language spoken by the Demon People was beyond his understanding.
Jiang Tang couldn’t comprehend this demon language, and after some thought, he felt Eryao could probably help.
Eryao, having received an ancient heritage, might be able to translate, not understanding the language.
Perhaps he could also clarify what kind of Demon this language corresponded to.
Transformed into humans but with green eyes, their other spells seemed not so formidable; the only formidable thing was their pair of green eyes.
This was a type of Demon he hadn’t heard of in his several years within the Cultivation World.
Even Ye Tian, the scion of a major family, had no idea what kind of Demon this was.
Jiang Tang decided to summon Eryao, who might help him unravel the mystery.
Otherwise, he could only have the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit assist again, but as the master, always relying on the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit might reveal his flaw of not being the true master!
For now, he couldn’t let the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit doubt that he was not the true master, as it could bring trouble to his actions.
If the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit released those Demonic Beasts, the powerful ones he caught, or his enemies from inside, it would cause him a bit of trouble.
He wasn’t afraid of the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit; rather, he disliked the hassle but could still utilize the Hell Palace’s Artifact Spirit to work for him.
Eryao was summoned by his master, but actually, he didn’t always want to stay in the Primordial Treasure Spirit Field Space; he also wanted to get out and breathe some fresh air.
His master always assigned him and Green Ox tasks, such as diligently planting, brewing, harvesting, completing tasks, and also helping with Artifact Refining, Alchemy, and managing the search for treasures and Secret Manuals within the space.
Seeing his master summon him, he glanced happily at Green Ox, feeling that he was still the most beloved by his master, always the first to be approached for any matter.
He was the most useful, and now he could go out and have fun!
Green Ox could only watch Eryao leave the space with an envious look but without jealousy, knowing his capabilities were no match for Eryao.
There were things Eryao could do that he simply could not, such as the task the master had given Eryao to help with, which he didn’t understand at all.
He could only silently continue his work in the space, hoping to observe the earth-shattering feats Eryao would accomplish outside.
When Eryao appeared before his master, he touched his hair with his hand; even appearing outside, how could he allow himself not to look handsome?
He felt he was already quite handsome, yet no matter how he groomed himself, he couldn’t compare to a Monster like his master.
There was no competing in skin quality, he could match in physique though, but not in temperament.
Currently, there were so many women around his master, but Eryao remained single.
“Master, what do you need by summoning me?” Eryao no longer called Jiang Tang ‘Dad,’ ever since new stepmothers appeared around Jiang Tang, feeling less cherished.
“Eryao, I’ve summoned you to take a look at those people with green light in their eyes, to determine what kind of humans they are and what language they’re speaking,” Jiang Tang commanded.
Eryao had no objection to his master’s command; he went to observe the townspeople, who were labeled as people, but in reality, like him, were some kind of Demon transformed into the likeness of the local residents.
As for what type of Demon they were, Eryao couldn’t identify them right away, but he recognized their language as recorded in the heritage.
After Ascension to the Heavenly Realm, besides the Cultivation World’s Human Immortals, Demonic Beasts, and Ghost Demons that rose to heaven,
there were also western countries where they ascended to the Celestial Kingdom, home to a diverse mix of Cultivators, Demon people, Ghost Demons, Human Demons, the Blood Clan, Wizards, Heavenly Masters, Elves, all led by what they call God.
The Celestial Realm, too, was divided between the eastern and western realms, and the great war 10,000 years ago wasn’t confined to just the eastern side of the Celestial Realm.
The western Celestial Realm was also engulfed in war, with chaos in heaven affecting the entire Celestial Realm, shattering heavens and earth not just in one place.
Everything is fair, and for the past 10,000 years, people from this side of the Cultivation World couldn’t ascend—Demonic Beasts, ghostly spirits, no kind could rise to the Celestial Court.
Resources gradually dwindled, Spiritual Energy weakened, truly a decline with each generation.
As of now, the Mahayana Realm has become the highest level of Cultivation, other Cultivators weren’t much better off, they too were weakening, struggling more and more.
The same was true for the people in the western lands; although they didn’t cultivate based on the strength of Spiritual Energy, they too needed resources.
