Chapter 230: Is that it?? [1]

As Lucien and Heinz kept fighting, fending off the 200 enemies with all of their might, Jaden on the top floor noticed something moving through the magic-infused fog. An inhumane growl reverberated everywhere loudly as the fighting abruptly stopped as if they all agreed on a common consent.

Jaden obviously noticed the growl of a sea monster. At first, it was only one creature. As it stepped forward, revealing its grotesque and large abdominal figure, there were strange burned marks on some parts of its body. It looked towards the fortress with its reptilian eyes gleaming in hatred, especially the division members who had poured the poison contained in the bottles into the waterway.

Lucien and Heinz both looked back at the monster; they both noticed the intelligent glint in the creature’s eyes, as it seemed to recognize the perpetrators behind its misery. The horrible beast that stood on two limbs growled again loudly, looking slightly backwards.

It was at this moment that Jaden asked aloud, "So, this is what Axel Nomrad had been up to?"

Lucien or Heinz, neither of them looked at Jaden despite hearing his words loud and clear; they were more apprehensive of the monster. No, there were definitely more monsters behind it in the fog. And just as stated, more monstrous growls of the sea creatures followed right behind.

The creature visible to them turned around and looked at them. It almost felt like the monster was showing a smile of sorts, and the growl from it a few moments ago. Lucien had an inkling that it definitely communicated. The prince warned Heinz about it.

Jaden sneered at this moment, "You seem to be mistaking something. We still have a lot more of those poisons left. If you think you can eliminate all of the two divisions’ members down there with these things, you are sorely mistaken."

Through the use of magic, Jaden’s voice reached downward, but again, the two powerful Seekers of the gold section did not respond to his taunt. Jaden also warned everyone through the use of telepathy to be ready for a horde of powerful peak 2nd-tier sea creatures.

The very next moment, countless monstrous howls followed, and the bridge shook violently left and right, as if it were about to snap. But the bridge held, and 30 or so sea creatures, each radiating threatening power, rushed out of the fog and attacked everyone in sight. The beast that appeared first went directly for the head of the Conner Ravenspire. It was even smarter than what they initially thought.

Thorian shouted, "Stop those two."

But alas, it was too damn late. Heinz and Lucien both rushed forward into the incoming horde of sea creatures. Some of them ended up attacking the two, but they easily dodged, though by now the duration of the runic tools’ active skill was over. So, they were left weakened a bit, which seems to be something not mentioned in the tool stats. But it also made sense; any increment in power of any Seeker would have to come from somewhere. The source of it was themselves in truth.

But most of the creatures seem to ignore the two of them, while some attack them out of caution. The two of them also made sure not to pick a fight with the creatures and dodged any attempt at attack on the two of them.

But more and more sea creatures were climbing up the ladder, and the fog wasn’t helping them get through the bridge’s mid area, teeming with powerful 2nd-tier creatures. So, in the end, they had to resort to some violence, but eventually escaped to the other side.

As the two of them came out of the fog, they saw that many monsters had already managed to climb up the land. Everyone who returned on this side was taking on the sea creatures in groups, surrounding and dividing the creatures. Axel was taking on most of the sea creatures.

And just as the two of them arrived there, Axel shouted through the telepathic link, [Hurry up and kill these things.]

The two of them nodded with grim expressions, as the sea monsters that had managed to climb up to the land and were still climbing were greater in number than they had expected. Even when multiple seekers combined their might together against one of those creatures, they weren’t able to deal a serious enough blow to the tall and imposing sea creatures. At best, they could slowly push them back on the cliff.

Lucien and Heinz joining in with them helped the situation, since Axel was the only one who could kill the sea creatures. Now two more people could as well. And slowly but surely, more of the creatures were eliminated on the side of the gold section.

Meanwhile, on the defenders’ side, Enrick and Conner were both using a substantial amount of those poison liquids on the creatures, which caused them severe burns and immense pain. It wasn’t nearly enough to kill them, though.

Something which Jaden Redmar had miscalculated. Something which Axel Nomrad had used beautifully. Axel noticed that the creatures were more intelligent than Jaden had thought, especially since there seemed to be occasionally a few rare specimens among them, which were even more intelligent and evolved in their minds, almost like a pack leader.

And those few who can order some of the creatures under them subtly. Now they were actively seeking vengeance against the bastard humans who ruined their living space. The waterway, now poisoned, was uninhabitable for life. So, despite Enrick and Conner’s divisions, both constantly throwing in poisons, the pain was immense for the creatures. They would not give up until they tore apart and ate the flesh of every single one of those humans.

So, that’s precisely what happened. The attacks of the creatures on the defenders increased even more, as the killing intent of so many creatures, mixed with their desire to satiate the beastly hunger, pressed onto every one of the humans. Not only that, but since the seekers of Section-A had just fought with both Lucien and Heinz going all out a while ago, they weren’t in their top condition either.

Conner and Enrick both remained weakened just when Jaden thought that the sharpshooters who were maintaining the large mana dome should perhaps stop and help out those in the bottom facing the sea creatures. But as if someone had read through his mind. The siege arrows that had not been fired til now were fired back again. To keep those 100 Seekers busy.

Jaden glanced hatefully towards Axel on the other side, though he could not see his facial expression, he had a hunch the fucker was giving him a mocking look. And creatures on the opposite side were being eliminated swiftly as the pressure on the attackers decreased.
