Chapter 298: Fetish!!
Then, without waiting any further, Lucien picked her up and transformed again into the Partial dragon. Just like the visage of the partial golden dragon was mighty, it was majestic as well. Open for Lumina to see it in all of its glory.
"How can this be? How is this even possible?" asked Lumina, utterly shaken from the sight of it.
Lucien did not answer immediately and started flying while carrying his little sister like a princess. She shuddered from the sheer domineering power emanating from Lucien, which had crossed beyond even the mid-stage of the 3rd phase. She added again, more to herself than her brother,
"Is this the gap between us and the most powerful race on the continent. Is a peak first-phase dragon bloodline holder as strong as a mid third-phase human? But how can this be? How can the power gap be this big? And how do you have the blood of the so-called Golden Dragon within you? How brother?"
Lucien’s draconic eyes were arched as he was deep in thought, thinking about how to explain to his sister properly. He revealed with a sigh, "Remember when I was seven and you were 6, that night when we were closer to death than ever before. At that hidden place within the castle, a place said to be cursed and never visited, we were forced to spend 2 days and 2 nights without food or water. In that place, I obtained it. The nexus core of the Golden Dragon, containing the bloodline source."
He spoke the following words within his mind, ’And you obtained something there as well.’
"You went unconscious after a few hours in there, and probably don’t remember anything. But I do. And many things happened during the trial. So, yes, I currently possess the Draconic aspect of the most powerful Golden Dragon. I don’t know the full details of how the Nexus core of the Golden Dragon was positioned within the royal palace."
"But I do know this, that the Golden Dragon was killed during the battle with Demon Emperor, when the Emperor had become the first and only 7th phase being within the entire continent, and the six Elder Dragons had to fight using their combined might."
"From what I do remember from the lingering memories remaining within the bloodline, the Demon Emperor was likely killed."
Lumina was shocked by those grand revelations, but she was most curious about why her brother was able to integrate with the bloodline. "But I don’t understand? How can it choose a human? How can a Human even??...."
Lucien cut her off mid-sentence, "I don’t know, somehow the remnant of the Gold Dragon said that I had high compatibility with it, and can become the next Gold Dragon, if I continue to get stronger steadily. Though this fact cannot be revealed, no matter what."
Lumina nodded with a grave expression, finally understanding the silent burden her brother carried all along, and the secret behind his colossal strength. The real burden her brother faced wasn’t about being unable to achieve his goals, but rather about not having enough time for it, and the implications of what humanity would face when this fact is discovered. This alone could bring the doom of humanity.
Just one 5th phase dragon would likely be enough to slaughter all of humans; even the three strongest kings, each of them a 6th phase powerhouse, would be helpless against one such dragon. The difference in power between the most powerful race on the continent and the weakest race of the continent was just that colossal, or maybe it was even more; she did not know. Even though the demons held the highest military power due to their numerical advantage over the high-level seekers. Dragons were still unmatched in terms of individual Prowess.
A lot of things made sense now, she asked him again, "So, this is the reason you needed to ally with Sophia so desperately?"
Lucien nodded, "Indeed, as I grow stronger, I will gradually transform into a complete dragon, and this will be harder and harder to keep a secret. And when this is finally revealed. The Dragons, maybe even the demons, may come after me."
"The dragon race will abhor the fact that a mere human had the bloodline of the strongest Dragon. The demons would come to take out the potential next Gold Dragon. They will target humanity as well. And I will need her when that time comes. I can’t face that situation alone."
He explained further, "Also, I know what you’re thinking, that I’m exuding the power of a mid third phase Seeker, even as a peak 1st phase being. Again, you’re wrong. I can transform to such an extent and exude the power of the Dragon because we are within the void. If not for that, how could the world Will allow such a difference in power to be displayed so openly?"
"As for the fact about Demon Emperor alone facing 6 Elder Dragons, all being quasi 7th phase seekers each. I can only presume that the 7th phase represents an excellent shift in power. If not for that, how could there not be a single individual who achieved that state of power in the past 10,000 or more years? In fact, it’s unclear if there was ever a 7th phase seeker within the whole of the Eldarion continent. And the Demon Emperor was not a simple individual. He was just too strong."
"So much so that the fear of that mighty demon remains within the bloodline of the Golden Dragon even now. Even the other Elder Dragons were all gravely injured. Of course, I could be completely wrong about all of this. I only saw multiple visions when I first integrated with the dragon blood; it all went through too fast."
Lumina nodded, understanding things even further, "Indeed, the world Will won’t let the dragons show all of their power, even though they are the most favored race of nature. And we humans are the most unfavored race."
Lucien stopped flying forward suddenly as he sensed a weak point within the void, the place he could break through. He stated seriously, "Cover your ears and hold me tightly."
Lumina did as he asked obediently; the dragon force gathered on Lucien’s throat again as he let out another cacophonic dragon roar, which shot out like a beam of golden light, piercing through the dark void high above. Lucien did not wait for the ceremony as he flapped mighty wings upwards continuously creating a powerful propulsion force upwards, dismissing his dragon transformation in the process.
The sky of the void broke apart, a sound akin to that of a glass shattering resounded everywhere, and the previously created propulsion carried both him and Lumina out of the false void, back into the material world. They both appeared in the same room in which Lumina was bedridden. Professor Regina, Alfred, and the Principal himself were staring at Lumina and Lucien with a dumbfounded expression; they were both in a position of hugging each other as they now remained seated on the bed.
Professor Regina smiled in relief at seeing the two of them, but the words she spoke completely contradicted the relief on her face: "So, the prince does have a fetish for his own younger sister? The rumors weren’t false after all."
