Chapter 1 The Beginning

In the institute's lobby, a robust black-backed wolfhound, as strong as an ox, was ferociously tearing at a guard's thigh, blood splattering everywhere.

A dozen sharp bone spurs pierced through the muscle and skin of the wolfhound's back, standing erect and looking terrifying.

Its eyes were bloodshot, and some of its teeth were broken. Blood mixed with saliva dripped from its mouth.

Its limbs were thick and powerful. It dragged the adult man as it leaped and darted around, roaring at the guards who held guns.

The guard whose thigh it had bitten screamed miserably, the flesh on his thigh torn, revealing the bone beneath.

The other guards held their weapons but dared not fire easily.

Their comrade was still firmly held in the mutated wolfhound's jaws. If they fired and missed the wolfhound, they might hit their own man.

Tap, tap, tap!

Just then, hurried footsteps echoed from inside the institute.

Bai Jingyan ran out. Seeing the mutated wolfhound and the blood-soaked floor, he frowned. "How did a mutated beast get in here?"

Although mutated beasts possessed immense strength, the building materials used in their institute were extremely sturdy and high-grade. Even the glass was military-grade bulletproof. Even if an ordinary mutated beast shattered its bones, it would be futile!

Now, the mutated beast and the guards were in a stalemate.

Bai Jingyan himself threw the gun on the ground and walked toward the mutated wolfhound empty-handed, smiling, his white teeth gleaming.

The guards were stunned and shouted.

The mutated wolfhound possessed strength greater than a lion. If it bit a vital spot, death was certain!

The guards, armed with guns, were still wary of it, but Bai Jingyan dared to approach it unarmed?

Bai Jingyan waved, signaling the guards to be quiet, then slowly walked toward the mutated wolfhound, coaxing it, "Good doggy, come here, I have bones and biscuits for you..."

"Come here, I'll let you experience how happy it is to be a dog..."

A twisted smile appeared on Bai Jingyan's face.

The mutated wolfhound stared intently at Bai Jingyan. In its mind, Bai Jingyan's bared teeth were a provocation. Now that Bai Jingyan had no weapon in his hand, he seemed to have become a piece of meat to be devoured at will!

The mutated wolfhound roared and threw Xiao Wu aside, lunging straight at Bai Jingyan!

"Danger!"

The female assistant screamed.

A fierce glint flashed in Bai Jingyan's eyes. He took half a step back, grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher, aimed at the mutated wolfhound's head, and smashed it down!

There was a loud crack!

The fire extinguisher burst open, releasing a cloud of powder!

The mutated wolfhound howled and crashed heavily to the ground!

Then, Bai Jingyan kicked out hard. The mutated wolfhound was struck heavily, half of its skull caved in. It desperately charged towards the institute's gate, dragging a bloody trail as it fled!

Bang!

Bai Jingyan was rammed hard by the mutated wolfhound, unable to dodge. His body slammed heavily to the ground several meters away!

Mutated beasts, though they had lost their minds, still had a sense of danger.

It realized that if it didn't leave, it might really die here!

Seeing this, the guards were about to give chase.

"Alright! Don't chase it! Clean this up and send the injured to the hospital!" Bai Jingyan shouted, feeling a sharp pain in his chest. He knew his ribs were broken, and cold sweat trickled down his forehead. "These things are really dangerous!"

The others rushed over, frantically lifting Bai Jingyan and Xiao Wu to take them to the hospital.

But at that moment, a scream suddenly came from the distance!

It was the mutated wolfhound's scream!

Bai Jingyan looked towards the institute's gate in astonishment.

He saw the mutated bone-spurred wolfhound being bitten in the throat by another black wolfhound, unable to resist, struggling desperately, but to no avail!

The black wolfhound was not as large as the bone-spurred wolfhound, but its strength was incredibly powerful!

The bone-spurred wolfhound's head drooped limply. Its neck had been broken!

Just then, a mutated domestic pig ran from the distance again. It was a burly beast, like a small tank, tusks raised high, roaring as it charged towards the black wolfhound.

The black wolfhound nimbly dodged the mutated pig's attack, then bit its hind leg.

The mutated pig staggered and fell to the ground!

Its thick, bear-like hind leg was completely broken, flesh and bone, like tofu cut open by a knife!

The black wolfhound bit the mutated pig's nape, easily sending it to the same fate as the mutated wolfhound.

The whole process looked extremely easy, like a lion slaughtering sheep!

The black wolfhound glanced at the direction of the institute, then ran into the distance like a lone wolf king.

The light in Bai Jingyan's eyes gradually brightened.
